I just finished The Darkest Part of the Forest and loved it!! While the novel doesn't necessarily need a sequel I think the story has potential to continue. Do you guys think Holly Black should write a sequel or should she keep this book as a stand alone?

Stand alone! I loved this book so much the way that it is and I would be too afraid that the sequel would ruin the story for me.
I finished this book on friday, and absolutely loved it. I think it may be my new favorite book!!
Now to the real question!
I believe it should be a stand alone book because:
1. Sequels can often drag out the plot and potentially ruin the first book.
2. I feel like you would have to introduce more characters in the sequel and some of them i feel would be out of place, not necessary.
3. Finally because I love this book and would not want the sequel to ruin it in any way.

Definitely a short story and I dare say a sequel. Maybe tying in the mysterious court the King escaped. Clarifying Jacks heritage. Expanding Hazel’s narrative as a human knight amount fae. Exploring Ben’s power.
