Ellinor (1001andmore) I love challenges!

I'm planning to read at least 150 books in 2013. I chose 11 different categories. I'm a moody reader so I'll pick the books as they come. Each book only counts once even if it fits under several categories.

Ellinor (1001andmore) I just finished another book set in a country I haven't travelled to yet, Brazil. I read Journey to the River Sea which I enjoyed very much.

Ellinor (1001andmore) I finished another 3 books for part A, books published in the 21st century. Definitely making some progress there, I have now finished more than 50% of the books in that category.

Ellinor (1001andmore) I finished another book for the pre-1900 section: The Scarlet Letter, a great book!

Ellinor (1001andmore) I finished another book for the one-word-title section, Saphirblau. It's the second book in the Ruby Red Trilogy.

Ellinor (1001andmore) My next book was White Fang by Jack London. I read it for section H. I both enjoyed the book and the movie even though they are quite different.

Yes it is kind of similar. But I think I enjoyed White Fang a tiny bit more.

I've also finished another book for section J, The Scream by Joan Aiken. This one really isn't a book I'd recommend.

Ellinor (1001andmore) Smaragdgrün helped me finish my first section for this challenge: section I, the one-word-title books is completed.
I'm also almost done with section A, I'm only missing one book here.

Ellinor (1001andmore) I finished another Newbery medal winner, The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle. A great book, just the kind of adventure story I loved a a child.

Ellinor (1001andmore) I read another book for section D, The Endless Steppe. It's set in Poland (today: Lithuania) and Russia, all places I haven't been to yet.

Ellinor (1001andmore) I'm now 50% done with section H too. I read Buddenbrooks which is a 1000 times better than the (quite recent) movie version.

Adriana | 3888 comments Well it depends on the year. I know a friend who was doing that for children's books. I think that award has it dated back to the 1920s or something.

Ellinor (1001andmore) I finished another book from the "Movie-First" section, The Club Dumas. Book and movie (The Ninth Gate) are quite different: The "Club Dumas" doesn't exist in the movie.
