Double AGREE!

Julie awesome book, can't wait for the rest of the series. I need more Gabe!

Shatan I heart Gabe too, however was looking for a better ending, I like that they ended up together but to me the proposal wasn't original. Excellent writing style.

Ilana i LOVED this story - i think that there's something to be said about having a GREAT mix in level of the character that Mia is. she's a good mix of Ana from 50 shades with her innocence but she's got quite a bit of Eva from Bared to you.

LOVED it and i'm psyched that April is closer than i thought so we can see what the deal is with Jace and then August is right after that for Ash's story in Burn.

Rose Boydston I read this but I just don't understand why any woman would want to put herself in that position? For sex with a good looking guy? Really? Saying that, I still enjoyed the book. Just because I don't like a character doesn't mean I didn't like the book. Fiction right? I have no doubt I will read the other books.

i get your POV on this one and can agree on some points but of course on the side of healthy debate - if you've been harboring a crush on someone for what...8 years and they finally pay you attention - you're not going to say no right? and then to find out that they've been crushing on you for longer than you thought? that adds that little cherry on top where you're willing to sacrifice common sense for a little bit. it's def the naivety that she's got thinking that it could be a secret....

mind you i really thought that Ash knew something was going on....or wanted to have something with Mia - wouldn't have surprised me if all of a sudden his feelings were less than big brotherly towards her once he saw how Gabe hurt her.

message 13: by Rose (new) - rated it 4 stars

Rose Boydston I suppose in that situation you are right... common sense would fly out the window. lol.

message 14: by Liz (new) - rated it 5 stars

Liz Iannozzi AWESOME BOOK! Can't wait for the rest of the series. Maya Banks out did herself once again....

Stephanie Riegle This book is amazing! I can't wait to read the next two!

Jennifer Loved his book... The audiobook was awesome! Can't wait for book 2 and 3.

Lynette I REALLY loved this book too! I'm into this genre of writing in general and I felt this story was really well-written and I loved Gabe and Mia!

I know there are some reviews that aren't so great and I get the comparisons to FSoG, but I loved those books too and I'm always searching for similar ones. I felt Rush was fantastic and I really felt the chemistry between Gabe and Mia (even though Gabe didn't always make the best choices with her). I can't wait for Jace and Ash's stories next! :)

Julie Alvarez OMG I agree ince again a great book by this author. I should be getting Fever anytime.

Norma Just finished reading I got to say I just about freaked when Mia's brother Jace and Ash walk in on her and Gabe I had to pause and take a breath there for a minute before I continued. I was totally OMG!!

Michele Norma wrote: "Just finished reading I got to say I just about freaked when Mia's brother Jace and Ash walk in on her and Gabe I had to pause and take a breath there for a minute before I continued. I was totally..."

Same here, I would of been modified.

Norma Michele wrote: "Norma wrote: "Just finished reading I got to say I just about freaked when Mia's brother Jace and Ash walk in on her and Gabe I had to pause and take a breath there for a minute before I continued...."

Lol! Yup thats why I needed to take a breather before continuing

Connie I heart Gabe as well. This was a great read. I am a fan of Ms. Banks from other series. I love the title of the books in this series... Rush, Fever, Burn.

Gracie I love the book! I love the story of the three friends and how every book will be about each of them finding love. In Rush, Gabe and Mia love story was great, exciting, and thrilling. I finished in one day I couldn't put it down. Anyone how hasn't read it READ IT!

Melissa This is so much more me than 50 shades that made me want to smack someone lol This is an awesome story and so much more real and I am even more excited for the next one!

Mackenzie I LOVE Gabe. Love him. I loved his side and getting into his brain. I can't wait to explore Jace and Ash and hopefully get more Gabe. Can't wait.

Carol Mackenzie wrote: "I LOVE Gabe. Love him. I loved his side and getting into his brain. I can't wait to explore Jace and Ash and hopefully get more Gabe. Can't wait."

Everybody seems to have really loved this book. I'm with you all! Loved it and the characters. Can't wait for FEVER in a little more than a week away. Can't wait to see what is in store for Jace and Ash.

Melissa Norma wrote: "Just finished reading I got to say I just about freaked when Mia's brother Jace and Ash walk in on her and Gabe I had to pause and take a breath there for a minute before I continued. I was totally..."

I did the exact same thing!!!

Yes, I gasped out loud when I read that! I was really shocked and then Gabe's reaction. He would have had to do more crawling to me than what Mia made him do. I'm ready for the next book!

Norma Carolyn wrote: "Melissa wrote: "Norma wrote: "Just finished reading I got to say I just about freaked when Mia's brother Jace and Ash walk in on her and Gabe I had to pause and take a breath there for a minute bef..."

Oh yea lots of crawling Lol! But got to admit she did good she got her big girl panties and walked out with her chin up I would have still been there smacking the jerk

I agree with your assessment. I thought it was an awful book as well. Too graphic and not very flattering to women and more importantly, young girls. If anyone treated my sister that way, I would have some serious issues with him. Release Me is better.

message 31: by Jess (new) - rated it 2 stars

Jess I really wanted to read this. I decided to spend the eight bucks and buy the ebook. I was disappointed. I loved Fifty Shades... this was too much like it. I didn't find the conversation between the characters believable and I am still curious as to, in what universe do women want these types of relationships?! Don't get me wrong, if my husband suggested...well... it might happen, but HOLY CRAP... the things they were saying to each other, it sounded so trashy for rich folks. I dunno... not going to buy the next book. didn't really like it.

message 32: by Rose (new) - rated it 4 stars

Rose Boydston Jess, I'm with you.

Martha Debra wrote: "OMG, this book is awesome. Gabe is to die for. Can't wait for FEVER!!!!"

I've heard many don't like Fever either ...but I will never know - as won't read books this bad... an I loved FSOG, crossfire and I read lots of BDSM books as well - this series is just junk IMO.. sorry to see something so poor from a good writer

message 35: by Beeb (new) - rated it 4 stars

Beeb I totally love Gabe! I really liked this book and can't wait to start Fever!

Tanya I love Maya's writing. The characters are interesting and funny & a little naughty:-)

Nicki Rad @ Tanya i love how she blends her books and you get to know whats happening with the previous character if that series

Tanya I recommend The Siren, the Angel, the prince and the mistress by Tiffany Reisz. The original sinners series. It's fabulous.

message 39: by Rika (new) - rated it 4 stars

Rika I liked this book and actually gave it 4 stars, but I feel like it was way too similar to 50 Shades. Does anyone else feel this way?

message 40: by Arial (last edited Nov 21, 2013 04:02AM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Arial Some of the scene's make me feel sorry for Mia. The way he promised to ease her into his lifestyle, but he didn't keep to his word. I believe that it is starting to register how he feels for Mia rather than trying to make her into the Sub he 'thought' he wanted. At the beginning of the book I believe he is making up excuses and situations to try and cover up how he feels, as it is new to him. I am not too sure as I yet have to finish the book & the series. It is by no means as good as the E.L. James's Fifty Shades series, which is what got me into this genre of book and DEFINITELY not as good as Sylvia Day's series Crossfire, which is FANTASTIC! I think Gabe needs to learn a bit from Gideon and Christian, but I will give him a chance and see if he can better himself as Mia is in a league of her own and wants nothing more than to please him. Also, the sex scenes are short and all about him 'fucking' and getting it over and done with, although saying that the part I'm on at the moment just had a 'love making' scene which was controlled by Mia. I believe she is getting confident. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.Rush

Abigail Edwards I'm at the part where the just signed the contracts and Mia is about to go out clubbing and I'm just not into it yet. Granted I hate the beginnings of books but this is just not holding my interest! I've read 50 shades and the crossfire series so am I going to be disappointed or should I push through?!

I love Gideon and Christian ♥ but I could only finish this one and the other two were just too much for me. Not into sharing my men :(

And I am probably one of the few that didn't really like this book that much either. There is one scene that I wish was not in it and I could not understand how someone you supposedly love would do that to you. I don't care how long I was crushing on the guy I would have told him to F$%# Off.

Edited to add:
I am not a fussy person on my hero's either because I love Tony Rawlings from Consequences and he is Bad but Gabe Hamilton is just a f-ing JERK!

Abigail Edwards Michelle wrote: "Abigail wrote: "I'm at the part where the just signed the contracts and Mia is about to go out clubbing and I'm just not into it yet. Granted I hate the beginnings of books but this is just not hol..."
OH NO! Now I'm scared! I want to finish the series because I hate starting series and not finishing but its really hard for me to get into it right now.

Michelle °O° I say finish it because I hate not finishing books either. Maybe you will like it better than I did. I seem to be in the minority on this one.

Abigail Edwards Okay thank you! Happy reading!

Martine This was the first Maya Banks book I ever read and I Loved it!! I love how she writes and I love how she personalized the characters. For the first time ever, the female character did NOT get on my nerves!! I'm reading Fever (Breathless, #2) by Maya Banks right now. I'm at page 63, and so far the beginning is better than Rush (I hated the idea of the contract in Rush, because it was too FSoG).

Martine Michelle wrote: "Abigail wrote: "I'm at the part where the just signed the contracts and Mia is about to go out clubbing and I'm just not into it yet. Granted I hate the beginnings of books but this is just not hol..."

I agree that there were some truly disturbing scenes! And even though at some points I was very upset with Gabe, my overall appreciation of the book is "amazing" because I really got involved into the story line, and in the end, I was 100% entertained! :)

Whick Maya Banks books did you enjoy the most??

Michelle °O° Martine wrote: Which Maya Banks books did you enjoy the most??

Honestly this is the only book I finished of hers. I started the second one and DNF. The three-some scene was not for me. :(
