Fiction Past 42nd: Literature set in and about New York City discussion

I highly recommend The Island at the Center of the World The Epic Story of Dutch Manhattan and the Forgotten Colony That Shaped America by Russell Shorto. It is a great, fascinating book that covers more than 300 years of New York's history. Although it is a book full of facts, it is readable and not a bit boring.
