2017 Reading Challenge discussion

Redshirts is the first book I have read by John Scalzi, but I think he may be my new favorite author! The story and dialogue had me laughing out loud, which I rarely do while reading. I was surprised at how moved I was by the ending, especially for a science fiction novel. Loved it!

I had not heard of this author before reading Lock In for Book Set in the Future. While I wasn't bowled over by Lock In as a whole, I found Scalzi's imagination really engaging. Having already read my Book With a Colour in the Title I hope to find a category to fit this one, now that I've read your assessment, since he might be your new favourite author!

It could be fit into a funny book, a book with a one word title, or a book based on a TV show(loosely based). It is getting harder to fit some of the books in at this point in the challenge.

Redshirts was my first Scalzi book and I enjoyed it very much. It definitely fits in a few categories. I was lucky enough to hear him speak at a panel recently, and he certainly made me even more interested in reading more of his books.
