I've been a bit behind this last few days so I'll start tonight with you Tammy :)

Chapter 8 (view spoiler)[ I'm really enjoying this so far, I l love reading about Russia. Rasputin's egg is interesting, I wonder who has it? babushka? Or have the Romanov's got it? (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 15 (view spoiler)[ I don't trust the priestess mystic woman with the egg, i think she'll keep its power for herself rather than for all the mystics. I'm loving the history in this book, definitely makes me want to go to Russia! I'm not 100% on either the red or the white side, I can see both arguments, but all the rioting and rebellion is not the way to go about it (hide spoiler)]

The thing is, Russia right before the revolution was very, very troubled. The peasants were extremely poor and starving, and then they had to see the czar spending a lot of money to send the army to war, a war that would end up in a series of military disasters.

So, if you have a czar living in luxury and your army suffering one loss after another, the peasant would certainly not be happy. That is not to say that after the revolution things improved much for them

Yeah I see what you mean, those were crazy times so I guess they saw revolution as the only option. It must have been scary to live in times like that.

I'm at chapter 10 (view spoiler)[Once I started reading this I kind of remembered hearing about the Romanov family and Rasputin in history. I also started thinking about the movie Anastasia (I don't remember it well, I was more of a Beauty and the Beast kind of girl. I didn't really like Natalya at first. She was annoying with her opinion of the Reds. I guess I understand it though because she's lived a life of privilege. I'm thinking the babushka (sp?) has the egg. It kind of sucks that Leo set them up like that (hide spoiler)]
