Congrats! I'm jealous. I'm no where near being finished with this challenge. I'm only on my sixth book. :)
woohoo! Congrats! I've got a ways to go yet, I'm finding myself reading a lot of stuff that isn't on my list... Or double reading for topics.
I was almost done with my chalenge but at the last book I extended it cuz it was a shame to finish it so early...its only 5 months past and I've read 105 books (which by the way is a lot for me cuz I have college and assignments and wt with bring the head of union council and stuff I can hardly read in the day...rather I have to suffer through sleepless nights)
Well done! I'm not even close, but my last updated said I was 2% ahead of schedule - lol. That can change easily and drop in the next few weeks. Congratulations and have fun working on your other challenges (I have too many to count, but I've made minimal progress on all).
Lacey wrote: "Congrats! I'm jealous. I'm now where near being finished with this challenge. I'm only on my sixth book. :)"I'm only on my 8th and 9th books which I'm reading at the same time to try and catch myself up! Lol! Although I don't think it's working!
Geez, i've barely made a dent, lol. WTG though. Hopefully i'll be able to have the time to finish mine, but with this new job it's difficult.
well according to this, I'm only 27% done and about 15% behind schedule...looks like I need to pick up the pace lol
I had thought I'd be done by now, but I've hit a bit of a wall. I've gotten stuck on a few books that have slowed me down a bit & stolen my will to read (The Scarlet Letter, I'm looking at you).

The Scarlet Letter is probably one of my absolute favorite classics!!!!
I loved The Scarlet Letter, LOL. The Age of Innocence is getting a little better, Jody. I'm at 32% now.
I am a little behind, but have the busiest part of my year behind me now. I will have to push through The Good Earth in the next few weeks, and I am looking forward to that like a shot in the arm. However, if I complete it then I will have read every assigned reading I had in school, so "YEA."
Yea for me finished up the challenge tonight now will read a few books that are not on the list for next years challenge I am proud of myself for being able to finish this as I did not think that I would be able to read a book a week and here I finished before the end of the year. Thanks for the motivation from this group.
Congrats Debra! I also finished the challenge last weekend and couldn't believe it! I remember last December when I made my list, I selected ten topics that didn't interest me much to put aside because I was sure I couldn't read 52 books in a year. Result: I'm probably going to read 80! I love this group and challenging myself to read, it brought me so much this year.
Congrats Debra :)
Same for me the 52 books seemed an unreachable goal in past December. Finally I read more than twice that (more than 200 reads, counting the several graphic novels, picture books and short stories). I'm very happy with my reading year, it was challenging, interesting and I'm in love with plenty of books and authors I wouldn't have discovered otherwise.

Finished! Completed! So happy...as I wondered if I could complete 52 books in a year from genres I rarely or never read...My book choices have grown and I have so enjoyed everyone's comments, book reviews and discussion...we are all so different, brought together through a love of the written word...it has been a great year...thank you...
The trilogy is killing me too. I even swapped out for an easier one and I'm still having the damnedest time getting it done. According to this I'm 8% (4 books) behind schedule. But I usually am able to get through 1 or 2 on my days off. I hope I make it!
But, yes, Kaye, you're so correct! What a thrilling and exciting reading year this has been. I've made some terrific GR friends. I've experienced books and genres and authors I would have never given a second glance and actually enjoyed them more than I thought I would. I have had so much fun and it has made me want to challenge myself even more. Thank you all for being part of this! Hope to see you all next year reading along.

COMPLETED!! I am SO excited to be able to say that I completed this challenge. I have tried to read one book a week for a few years now and was never successful so I feel having this challenge to follow is what really helped. I am actually already up to 70 books for this year so my goal has been exceeded! Still two more weeks left to add more! :)
Congrats Keri :)
I'm amazed by my overall reading too, I probably never read so many stories in a year! The funny thing is that I now need to push myself to watch a tv show or a movie, because I prefer to read!

I've definitely read more this year than any other year of my life. I seriously can't believe how many books I've read! And that's not even counting the old picture books that I've read over & over again every night to my daughter. They probably add up to another 20,000 pages in themselves. :S
I still have seven books left and I'm really pushing myself to complete this challenge before year's end. I know I can do it (even if time doesn't seem to be on my side). I know I will feel proud of myself and accomplished if I can meet my goal, so I'm focusing on that. My biggest hurdle right now is trying to find a trilogy to read. I am really struggling to find one that interests me. I read the first book in the Graceling trilogy earlier this week and didn't much care for it so, of course, I have no real desire to continue the series.
Tonight I think I'm going to start on either Clockwork Angel or Unearthly.

They're fantasy but not for children. The book contains postcards, letters and cool designs. I knew I couldn't finish a longer trilogy since I started the challenge late.
I have finished on the 9th but keep reading. I can't believe I read 80 books this year. Add that I only read 6 books until the end of May. That is when I decided to quit that job that was killing my soul... and started reading. I feel so much better now!I only joined the group in October and it was an amazing experience since - made some friends and got to know a lot about others' reading. So much more fun when you can share :)

Yeah, I keep wondering how much more I would have read if I hadn't taken that four month hiatus. :/

I have 10 books to go, and 10 days until the end of the year! I feel like this is doable? maybe? anyone got a good suggestion for a (short) book with bad reviews?
Cat - Where the Wild Things Are had some bad reviews. That's about as short as you can get too! :)Emm - I had a similar problem with my trilogy. Actually, I think a lot of us struggled with this one. I found it difficult to choose one, and then after finishing this first book I wasn't enthused, but I persisted only because it was a trilogy I "needed" (for my list-ticking disorder) to read.

I second Where the Wild Things Are for bad reviews. For the movie week, many children's books can fit, so it can be a good option for this category (Jumanji, The Three Robbers, How To Train your Dragon, The Giver...).
I second Zazz's comment on children's movies. Quite a few of them have been adapted to tv shows too. My struggle with Les Miserables is finally done. I am finished the challenge. That last book was a killer.
I'm doooone! I'm so happy I feel like singing. Whew. It was hard and I changed a lot of books, but I made it. This feels pretty awesome.
I just finished with The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky for week #38.On to next year. Happy New Year everyone.
Finally done! My last book was a doozy: The Cosmic Landscape by Leonard Susskind. First, it's about String Theory (although written in a fairly accessible way), but more importantly, I was reading it on my kindle, which makes the endnotes easy to read, and then my kindle broke :( I eventually ended up reading it on the kindle app on my phone but I find it so hard to click on the endnote links. Very frustrating. Anyways, the book was great but since it was published about 10 years ago I really want to read something more recent on the subject now.One more book for the Book Riot challenge, and then I'll be getting a head start in the 2016 challenge, since I have a couple of books from the library that are due back in about a week.
I have conquered you 2015! Mwahahahahaha! Victory is mine!
Er... *cough* pardon me. I just stopped by to say I finished today. :)

Thanks! I am optimistic that 2016 will go much more smoothly. I'm glad I was able to finish the year strong and, hopefully, make up for lost modding time. :P
