Let the summer book club begin!!

5/27 Voting for the first book of the Fantasy club is open until June 1st which is when we will start reading! Please go vote if you haven't done so already.

5/28 Looks like the clear winner is SNOW LIKE ASHES!!

1. This thread is mostly for updates on progress. This post will continuously be updated.
2. I decided to create different threads for different groups of chapters to avoid confusion as this is bound to get pretty long. BEWARE OF SPOILERS in different threads.

Found a copy from my local library, I've just started reading it now and I'm already hooked! Can't wait to finish it. Do we discuss the book in this thread? I'm just not sure I should do about spoilers

Awesome! Yes I would prefer to keep it to this one thread, but if things get too messy I'll make a new one.

The thing is it's not availlable on any site I can use. I tried BookDepository and this site from my country but there is only the hardback I think and I don't think I can afford a hardback and the paperback takes 143 more days so I'll wait for the next book we're reading :D

Hey Michelle! The book is only out in hardback at the moment, the paperback is due later this year.

I'm really excited to read this! I tried to start it at 1 am last night which definitely didn't work cause I couldn't keep my eyes open haha :D

I'm definitely starting it today though!

Oh my goodness! I'm so glad this was chosen! This is an amazing book and I can't wait to talk to everybody about it! I read it last month, but I'm rereading it on the weekend before my finals <3

I don't have a good standing on Edelweiss yet. I've been putting up reviews there, so publishers can be aware that I read a lot and review seriously.

Do you know if their publisher is strict with approval?

I have a bunch of auto approvals on there, even though I SUCK at actually getting reviews done. Maybe it's just because I'm a librarian? That's one I had to get approved for and they did though.

Ooh, I don't know much about Edelweiss, so I don't know know? It probably helps?

What do you usually write for the "why do you want this book?" portion?

I actually get different questions because I request as a librarian - the one that always gets sent is the description of my role (so I talk about how I'm a teen librarian, buy the YA books, etc), and then there's a space for additional info that only goes for that one. I usually leave that blank.

Okay, I just got my book today but it shouldn't take me more than 2-3 days to read it.
