I'm having such a hard time reading this book word for word. I'm so used to fiction that's fantasy or adventure type that this kind of reading is making me a slow reader. Anyone else having this problem? There are other fiction books that don't involved fantasy aspects that I got through but I like skipped pages.
Aria, I'm also reading this one a bit slower than usual. I'm enjoying it so far but I wish it would move a bit faster. I'm really hoping for a great payoff at the end!
It's taking me a while to get into this as well. I'm not very far, but I'm also not very invested yet. I'm hoping that the hook comes along soon!

I really want to join in on this but all the copies in my library are taken out, and there are 900 holds II kid you not) on the ebook editions! :'( I've heard really good things, so I'm thinking I may just to bite the bullet and buy it, even though I can't really afford it right now...

Oh wow!!! The most I've ever seen on a book on hold was like 32 holds! Your library can't borrow from another library the book? My library has like a system that if they don't have it they'll contact another library and have it sent to theirs so you can have it.

Me too, I keep comparing it to Gone Girl, it's sort of a diary format, but more condensed.
I finished it last night. Overall I thought it dragged a bit and the ending was kind of disappointing. I was hoping for a surprise twist but instead it was pretty straight forward. Not a bad book by any stretch but with all of the hype I was really hoping for more originality.
I haven't read Gone Girl yet. I've heard good things about it tho. Honestly I haven't read mystery in such a long time, before this it was mostly Dick Francis and Mary Higgins Clarke.
I'm new to online book clubs, so I have a few questions. Are we going to divide up the book into sections? Or just talk about what we thought when we finish it? I don't want to be pushy - I know loads of people are still getting their copies, but I didn't want to 'spoil' anything either :)
I recommend you listen to the April 9th Radiolab podcast called "the living room." It's not a murder mystery, but it kind of relates.
So I finally have time to start reading this and so far, I like the writing! It's different and the main character at the moment, Rachel, her life is kind of sad and it makes me worry some. I'm just excited to see what happens I guess, and a little scared lol

I've heard that I will love it and that's really something because I don't like anything, It's kind of slow for me right now, but at the same time, I am loving it!

Hey love, if you'd prefer, we can totally divide the book up into sections instead of just one massive post thing so I'll get on that!

I just didn't want to post something that might be a 'spoiler' and wreck it for someone.
I wish I could claim credit for it, but I saw Marina was doing it that way and it seemed like a great idea. :)

Voting for the first book of the Mystery club is open until June 1st which is when we will start reading! Please go vote if you haven't done so already.
