I loved reading it once again. The writing, it was so lyrical to me... Beautifully written and such details. World building was great and I loved the concept. So original. My favorite scenes were all of Kate's and Vincent's. Loved their bittersweet romance..
My favorite character was Kate. She was smart and strong. Thought twice before taking an action. She wasn't your typical YA heroines. And that's what made her different from every character I read. Every character had their own importance and it held the story together.
Haha..I am posting in short posts... Having crappy net due to bad weather. Hope my net stays till 12 :P
I loved it too. I agree, the concept was so original and the world building was great. The writing flowed easily and it was a smooth read. I loved Vincent and Jules and Charlotte and everyone. I felt Kate's grief in the beginning, and then her love for Vincent and her worry for her sister. The writing was beautiful! My favorite scene was when Kate went to their house and talked and joked around with everyone :)
Yes, Kate is refreshing after all the impulsive heroines I've read lately. And the fact that she's a bookworm makes her more special :D Although I'm confused Purvi...what is her real name? Kate? Katie? Or Katya?

Staying in and not willing to go out even if it is Paris. Oh I could relate to it... Her name was Katya. Cute name isn't it.

Women after my own heart.
I've taken today off to go to the doctor. I'm in my pyjamas, boiling a ham and have absolutely nothing to do. Gonna lie in bed and read later. :D
This sounds really interesting, if the h is willing to stay in and laze around, a nice touch of realism. And lyrical writing, yes please.

When Kate Mercier's parents die in a tragic car accident, she leaves her life--and memories--behind to live with her grandparents in Paris. For Kate, the only way to survive her pain is escaping into the world of books and Parisian art. Until she meets Vincent.
Mysterious, charming, and devastatingly handsome, Vincent threatens to melt the ice around Kate's guarded heart with just his smile. As she begins to fall in love with Vincent, Kate discovers that he's a revenant--an undead being whose fate forces him to sacrifice himself over and over again to save the lives of others. Vincent and those like him are bound in a centuries-old war against a group of evil revenants who exist only to murder and betray. Kate soon realizes that if she follows her heart, she may never be safe again.
