Kristina Simon (kristinasimon) | 11223 comments 25.5 - Bluemoon's task: Summer Fun

In the Northeast summer is so short we have to try and pack a lot into a few short months. This task is based on my summer activities.

Please chose TWO different options and read a book for each.

REQUIRED: State which options you chose when you post.

A. IN THE GARDEN - I love to garden. My husband decided he wanted to contribute something to the gardens around our home. He works for the town we live in and as part of his job he travels all around the town. He always has his eyes peeled for objects to put in the garden. So far we have a Tonka truck, a Tonka crane, 2 tricycles, a small wine barrel, a gumball machine, and several galvanized pots of varying shapes and sizes.

In honor of my husband read a book that you got for free. It can be borrowed from the library, a friend or family member. Or it could be a gift. Just as long as it was free.

REQUIRED: State where you received the book.

B. ON THE WATER - We have friends who recently bought a boat. We have a standing invitation to come spend the day on the boat. Can't wait to spend some time relaxing on the water.

For this option read a book that has a boat on the cover.
Sail by James Patterson Dockside (Lakeshore Chronicles, #3) by Susan Wiggs The Captain's Bride (Northern Lights, #1) by Lisa Tawn Bergren Life of Pi by Yann Martel The Log from the Sea of Cortez by John Steinbeck Frenchman's Creek by Daphne du Maurier The Girl Who Came Home by Hazel Gaynor Lethal by Sandra Brown Down River by Karen Harper

REQUIRED: Include the cover when you post.

C. WITH THE FAMILY - We have many family gatherings this summer including family picnics, weddings and graduations to name a few.

For this option read a book where the authors initials can be found in FAMILY GATHERING. All initials count and letters may only be used as often as they appear.

That works.

Nicole | 1295 comments Option 3- E.R. Frank- I see that it will work because E,R,F are all in Family Gathering but I needed to check because it's a weird initial name (I am such a pain).

Yes that works!! Never hurts to check things out.

Melissa (balletbookworm) | 915 comments For option 2, would The Long Ships by Frans G. Bengtsson by Frans Bengtsson have enough "boat" on the cover to work for the task? There's a sail and a prow, but the title art sort of covers it up (and, of course, the artist cropped in on the image).

If it were just the sail I might say no but it is clear to me that it is the front of a ship so it will work.

Melissa (balletbookworm) | 915 comments Yay! Thanks, Bluemoon - I've had this on my TBR for a while now, good excuse to get it read :)
