It's too soon for people to be talking about the story, so what do people think of the cover?I spent a fair while looking at images on a stock image website, when this one just kind of jumped out at me. The photo was actually taken in Warsaw.

This cover makes quite a statement. The Star of David is carelessly drawn on the door which shows an attitude of contempt and that it was drawn in a hurry with a great many doors to cover. The door is dark and dingy which shows the conditions in which Jews were living.

Without having got fully into the story yet it is difficult to say how representative the cover is. Nevertheless, the title combined with the Star of David and bleak door do give the impression the book relates to difficult times and Jewish people. Looking forward to reading on.
I like it...a very emotive image.
Some good comments made so far. It's quite interesting to see people putting into words the very things that attracted me to the picture in the first place.
I like the book so far and love the cover, but I am wondering how old the picture is because of the screw. Would they have phillips screw in Poland at that time, I think it was still relatively new in US.
Joseph, that is very well observed! Are you an engineer by any chance...?You're right that the picture isn't actually from the 1940s, I think it was taken some time in the last five years or so.
