what is better, the movies or the book?

The book.

these are different things. Book is more for children, all things as in fairytale. I read it about 10 years ago, and I have "dreamy" memories.
And trilogy I watched in June. I liked this movie, but it isn't "book on the screen". All part of the film has it own different "character". For example, it begins as fairytale, but third movie is in the dark colors and sometimes bloody (a bit). The movie is more for public (and cash, of course).
