Thoughts on The Rithmatist! WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR END OF BOOK**

Talk about your thoughts on the book, how you are liking a non Cosmere Bsan book, and what you think about the magic!

Alreem | 10 comments I really loved this book, the world and the characters were AMAZING .. the story was so fast paced and easy to get into, I really enjoyed every second reading this book. also, I really loved the ending how the two main characters used each other to complete what each of them miss. all in all this book was a really awesome book which I read in one setting :)

Crystal (infiniteink) I really enjoyed this book. Sanderson created another unique and intricately detailed magic system that managed to make chalk drawings scary. I was so paranoid the whole book and suspected everyone (even Joel's mom) of being the Scribbler at some point. I can't wait for the continuation.

TS Chan (tschan) | 21 comments What I liked most about this book is that Sanderson didn't make it easy for the main protagonist by having him become a Rithmatist in the end.

And that red herring!! How many of us thought that it won't be Nalizar because it seemed too obvious, only to know at the end that it was indeed Nalizar. Awesome!

Milou | 15 comments I really enjoyed this book. It was easy to get into and I could hardly put it down. I trusted no one, appart from Nalizar cause that seem way too obvious, only to find out that he was the bad guy :p I liked that Joel did not became a Rithmatist. I cannot wait for the sequal.

Elad Bannett | 11 comments This was my first non-Cosmere Sanderson book and it doesn't disappoint. While not one of his best books, it still is immensely enjoyable and engaging with Sanderson's trademark imaginative and elaborate magic systems. The characters were relatable and fun to read about. The murder mystery style kept me guessing, and while I kind of saw the first twist coming, the second one hit me out of nowhere.
Overall, a very enjoyable book and I'm very much looking forward to reading the sequel.

Alyssa (alyssasulsberger) | 6 comments Wow I loved this book! But the end just cuts off!! I'm ready to jump into the next book on the series whenever that come out.

The battle at the end had me on edge. I really enjoy the Magic system in this book. It's so refreshing to read a very structured and methodical magic system instead of one where we don't really understand why magic things happen sometimes.

Sophie | 55 comments So good, I really loved this book and obviously gave it 5 star. The magic system was probably my favourite we've read so far. I particularly enjoyed the final battle and the scene at the end with Melody and Joel in the Melee. Loved it!

Rachael Hobson (bostonbookbitty) I have some mixed feelings about the details of the story, but overall an enjoyable read. I rated this 3 out of 5 stars.

Matías Racedo (librosydragones) | 4 comments I really liked the story and characters. It's a simple book for Sanderson's standards, the magic system is not complicated at all, but I enjoyed it more than Steelheart for example.
In my opinion, he has plenty material to go on with this saga, and I'll keep reading the books, and all of his books I must say :)
