Nice link. Mine is Galwechil and means "follower of blessedness". It's kind of cool to introduce myself in elvish.
=>.<= Well phooey. It doesn't have my name. It wants to ADD more letters to make it someone else's name not mine. :P
You guys with "regular plain old names" get all the fun. LOL
(i.e. Am not a 'kimberly'; never was never will be)

I got different responses for different connotations of my name...but I went with Lucy, under the girl's names link...Love your name and mine is just Lucy then Courtney is my middle name but I'm so excited about my Elvish name....makes me happy :)
Michael wrote: "My names in Sindarin are Erufael Eruen and in Quenya Erurish Erufaila. That's a lot of "Eru"!" I think the meaning of your name has something to do with God!
Oh - I hadn't been to Arwen Undomiel's site for ages - thanks for the reminder. It would be fun to use it's name translator - I know my name is a Gaelic form of Mary and usually just look Mary up - and there are three other names where it says 'See Mary' - but, sadly, 'Mary' isn't actually listed...!
However I know Mary means 'bitter' - so have gone to Elffetish instead http://elffetish.com/QuenFrame.php and Pixellated Fëanor tells me that in Quenya I would be Sárien and, in Sindarin, Saereth.
I rather like those!
I looked up mine several days ago and did not like what I saw, at least with my name and related variations. LAUREL is the original name (it's a tree!) with Lauren, Laura, and Laurie being variations on it. Under "Laurel" it did something like "see Lauren" and gave some meaning very different than it did for Laura. It had me scratching my head in bewilderment. I've known since I was little about the variations on Laurel (because, well, in school no one wanted to call me Laurel; they always insisted my name was a variation on it, no matter how many books I put in their face on the matter). Lol, it's been so bad, I basically answer to ALL the variations. But anyway, with MY name...the Elvish "translations" are not accurate. If I recall, the Arwen Undomiel site has a disclaimer specifying that some things may be inaccurate.
Mine would be Erannë, which means "gift of God" (actually it should be Eruannë, but I find it easier to read it without that "u")
I just came across this thread, and looked up my name. (Beverly means beaver valley or beaver meadow).Sindar: Lavassir
Qenya: Lamassir
Girl's Names: Barvarnilairiel (brown animal meadow).
I'll go with this one. Maybe I'll have my name legally changed to Barvarnilaireil, just for laughs.
I'm Brethil in Sindarin and Aranel in Quenya, and they means "princess". Very nice, but all the Elvish words are nice ;)

Although the web page is set up for English names, it also gives the meaning of the English name. Perhaps you could search for the meaning closest to Fatini and see if you can get an Elvish name that way :-)

Another good website for creating your own Elvish name is here: http://nevrast.net/etymology.htmlThis site gives the option for a more personalized Elvish name, and can be helpful if you can't find a good translation for your own name. The name I chose is Aerelien, which I like a lot and is related to my real name (but not from its direct meaning). :)
Sargis wrote: "How can I found the meaning for my name?"Behindthename.com is one of the best sites for name meanings, and there are also others.
The Arwen-Undomiel website translates my name as "Eru (god) renewed" but my name means "god has healed" in ancient hebrew, so it musn't be translated as "Eruceura" in quenya but as "eruenvinyanto". Not a pretty name.
Interesting - "warlike" is only one meaning I've seen for my name, and it's fun to see it here. (My brother's name is Martin, which means "dedicated to Mars", who's the god of war, which means we should have fought a lot more than we did.) So I'm Othui in Sindarin, Ohtarinquë in Quenya. I like the Quenya.

For example my name is Andreea, my name apparently it means "human female" and "courageous". One of my names in Elvish is Huoriel, and it means courageous. My name in Sindarin is Firieth and in Quenya it is Firyë they both mean "human female".
