Yes. Becoming obsessed with a book turns me into an anti-social misfit, and this happens more easily than it should. Some of my obsessions include Into Thin Air, (I started monitoring web cams on Mount Everest), The Tale of Two Cities (I missed a road trip across the country by lying in the back seat of a car, reading), and A Short History of Nearly Everything (I've read it three and a half times).
