Book Lair discussion

I am reading this book and my mind is getting blown.

I am hoping someone here has read it and will want to discuss it.

I remind you that all topics in this forum contain spoilers, as they are used to discuss books already read.

At the moment I am wondering a couple of things:

1. How would Keith's development had been like if his uncle had not had that first talk with him? Would a 'proper' talk have managed to steer him away from his future behaviour?

Did Keith's parents know about Till? His mother seemed to suspect him strongly. And I never did get why they lied to the cops. I mean, they were asked if he was staying there, right? They would not just ask the kid?

This is such a powerful little book...
