I had to spend a while looking through the internet to make sure that this announcement was real. Meg Cabot has always said in the past that the series was finished. To be honest, I don't think it needs one and I'm very surprised by this news.
The series had the most perfect ending that anybody could ever ask for, and yet readers still weren't happy? Boy, Meg Cabot has got it rough!
Although I love the series, (I've got all the books and re-read them at every opportunity) I don't see the point in messing with a good thing. If it comes out in the near future then perhaps I'll read the 7th book but that's more out of curiosity rather than me actually wanting to read it.
I guess I'm afraid that too much time has passed, meaning that there would be a distinct change in style and how the characters behave e.g. the continuation of the Vampire Diaries. Come on, it's been 8 years since the last book had been published! You would think that if readers wanted more, they would have continued it in their own way by using their imagination.

I thought she didn't plan on writing another book for this series?
Anyways, unsure how to feel about this, seeing as I loved this series since the beginning and would hate to have another book ruin it. I can't imagine what the 7th book will be about. Also can't imagine that it will live up to the previous novels.
Either way, I do look forward to reading it and hopefully loving it!

I also thought the ending was great and am a little worried about what will happen and if a seventh book will be a disappointment. I hope not and will read it as soon as it comes out.
She says she had an inspiration so hopefully it will be a great story.

i'm not sure how much of the series i have read so i'm kinda missing out on how awesome it is. Damn studying!
Omg! A seventh book. WOW cannot wait meg Cabot never disappoints so let's see
great news, but it is not that exciting because of what happened with vampire diaries. I'm hopeful the author does not ruin my favorite series. sure I'd read it but not with the same fervor of that of the original.
So, other than this discussion here on Goodreads, I can't find anything anywhere that verifies that there will be a 7th Mediator book. Cabot herself on her own website claims that there will not be a 7th.
I enjoyed the series and like the completeness of book 6. As one of the other posters put it, you couldn't have devised a better or more satisfying ending. So, it doesn't seem like there needs to be a 7th, though if its true I will probably read it. I hope Cabot does something interesting with it. Its been 8 years since book 6 was published. Maybe she could place it 8 years or more after the events of book 6 and have Suze and Jessie married with kids. That ought to be fun.

She posted it on her own blog, the one about her kitty passing away.
I think one set much later would make a lot more sense I like that idea.

The mediator series is my favourite series of books. One of the reasons is the perfect ending... while I was initially concerned, I trust Meg Cabot. I have read practically everything she has ever written and I do not think that she will ruin this. I believe we are only getting a seventh because she has somewhere it needs to go. So I am indeed VERY excited for this and can only think it will be good (to me at least, I know there are harsh critics out there).
i dont think a book seven will be reasonable, besides the last book ended beautifully. please i dont want this to end badly.
As much as I'd love another book, the series was pretty wrapped up with the 6th book. Maybe Douglas is right and it'll be set in the future with Jesse and Suze married? I'll be excited, but not set my hopes too high.
Huh. Seriously? Is it like from Paul's POV spin-off series or something? Cause I really loved how it all ended. I'd still read it ofcourse, but well, I'm okay with it being as it is too. I guess I'll get excited if I read it. I just don't wanna ruin it's charm by not liking it as much as I did when I was 11, which can be very likely.. So yeah.. Where was this when I was conjuring crazy plots in my head?!
PS: Suze remains to be one of my fav protagonist, so I'm kinda possessive of her..and I'm not sure I'd like reading from someone else's POV :/

Not a spin-off but another book in the series!! YAYYY :) They're engaged so I see a wedding in the near future!! REMEMBRANCE (the title) is the first ever ADULT book in the series! Yay :)
