Rachel - did something right! She told the police and Scott about the kiss she saw, they arrested Kamal Abdic. Is this the catalyst that is going to help her move on? She finally feels worth something, that she made a difference (in a way I suspect she hasn't felt in a long time)Nope - 5 pages later and she's back to unhealthy obsessions.
Trying to prove herself "not worthless".
Good grief - it's all about Tom, again, and yes Rachel makes it all about Tom, but urgh, this guy gets on my nerves. You wanted her to move on, to leave you and Anna alone, and now she is. Who cares why she is at Scott and Megan's? It has nothing to do with you.Unless - did Anna kill Megan? No, it would be too out of left field. They didn't get along, but that doesn't usually make someone want to kill the sitter.
I am really not sure if I will like this book in the end.So much will depend on the the "reveal". It could really go so many ways now, which I feel is a bit too much. is there anyone who could not have killed her? also, I am very heartbroken about the characters. I feel almost overwhelmed by all the sadness and the loss they have to endure. however, I feel the writing is strongest when dealing with this.
Need to read on, not knowing the end to this depresses me.
obviously cannot write:I feel the writing is strongest when dealing with the loss and sadness of the characters.
I don't like how everything is about Tom to Rachel, like how is really so great? He seems decent enough, but not anything special to warrant Rachel's unhealthy obsessiveness ugh. Oddly enough, I didn't think Tom's reaction to Rachel going to Scott's house was jealousy, I thought it was just curiosity since Anna was throwing a fit.I already guessed Kamal was going to be the one Megan was sleeping with and he'd be a red herring, but be innocent later. I'm still stuck on who killed Megan though... Was there a cooperative effort with Tom and Anna? Was it Scott but Anna and Tom were with Rachel for some reason?
I don't like any of the characters much because it's still pretty sensitive stuff for me, but I'm still interested in the story and the writing enough to finish!
