Hi, everyone! What do you think the training in each house should include? Comment with your suggestions!

Well, now that I described the Pyre training room, I have a few ideas. :D

I was thinking for younger students, it would start out fairly simple. Like, making a flame from standard flint and steel, then learning how to sustain it until the source (wood or something) is consumed. Or changing the intensity of the flame.
Then move on to learning how to catch a source on fire without flint and steel.
And blast powder...not sure what training that would entail yet, but I'm sure someone will think of something. ;)

Of course, concentration exercises of some sort would be a requirement. Because it's, you know, fire. Not something you would want to go flying through a window...

And "lava-bending" for the older students. That would be cool. :D

Sarah (sarahtaleweaver) | 83 comments I'm working on coming up with stuff for the other two houses, but I need some clarification on Terrane: do they control earth? plants? or both?

Edit: Though I just came up with: maybe Pyre students also learn how to keep heat from touching them, so they can essentially "play with fire" and not get burned?

@Merenwen: Awesome!!! Those are all really great ideas. ;) I like your idea, too, Sarah about keeping the fire from touching them.

For Terrane, they can control earth (earthquakes, rockslides, make rock break apart, etc.) and probably plants to some extent.

Oh, and come to think of it, all of our Pyre members (excluding Edwin) are only 15 so far, so none of them will get to handle lava. *sigh* XD

And here are my basic thoughts for the other houses so far.

Aqueous:
Moving water, redirecting it, and freezing it.

Zephyr:
Moving wind (think the Goose Girl ;) ))

Sarah (sarahtaleweaver) | 83 comments Thanks!

I imagine that a semi-early part of Aqueous instruction would be learning to pull/collect water from the air. They'd probably start off with manipulating water that's already present in large quantities (e.g. pools, lakes, basins, etc.) and then maybe they'd learn to pull it from the air or from other sources where it's mingled with other things.

Yep, that definitely makes sense.
