Kati (katikatnik) | 8 comments I'm looking for mysteries/thrillers featuring a deep "bromance" between the main male characters. Example? Robert Crais' series about Elvis Cole & Joe Pike. The depth of their friendship radiates from every page they share.

Any suggestions?

David Morrell's 'The Brotherhood of the Rose' comes to mind. Part of a 4-5 book series which all explore similar themes of loyalty.

Kati (katikatnik) | 8 comments Yes, it's a trilogy about Saul and Drew. The last book you mentioned, The Covenant of the Flame, is about Tess and it's a stand-alone book, like most books by Morrell, not a part of the series.

Kati (katikatnik) | 8 comments No problem. I only know because Morrell used to be one of my favorite authors. I really need to re-read his books :)

I have a very high opinion of his career myself. The way I see it, he and Cussler shifted the gears which threw the action thriller into the big time (both books and movies). Its almost inestimable what they combined to do. The action genre was languishing in the late 70s, running out of steam. They turned it all around.
