Samuel (sajcripp) | 16 comments I was a really big fan of the Redwall books growing up. Now that I've started reading them again, I can't tell you why I ever stepped away from the series. Alas, we all have to grow old. :/ Any, I was wondering if the group was still active. It would be nice to get in touch with other fans of the epic tales.

I started the series over. I just finished Lord Brocktree. Where is everyone else at?

Sammy the Squirrel

Hello Samuel!

Alas, many of the group members have become inactive. I am around still and always happy to chat with another Redwall enthusiast :) glad to hear you're rereading the series!

Samuel (sajcripp) | 16 comments Awesomesauce! Maybe we can kick the group back into motion! The roleplay sounded kinda fun, but we'd need more than a couple hares to face the wrath of mighty Ugnat Trunn.

Tessa Smith | 6 comments Hey I am also always around to chat if you would like to talk about these books. This is one of my favorite series and I am sad no one talks about them any more. Ive read almost all of the b ooks at least twice. We should totally get this group up and running! Im glad you brought this up!

Samuel (sajcripp) | 16 comments I am feeling there's quite a few fans around, but sadly, I think people have run out of things to say. You guys have any ideas of what might spark interest in the series again? We could do a group read-along from the beginning of the series (publishing or chronological order). I'm sure by the time we got to the end of the stories, we'd have all sorts of fans that tagged along.

message 6: by Tessa (new)

Tessa Smith | 6 comments Yeah that could work! I mean I will try and think of maybe some other possibilities of what we can do but a group reading could work. We can see if any other people tag along first so it is not just the three of us. Good idea Samuel!

Samuel (sajcripp) | 16 comments Okay, sounds good. We'll have to discuss it a little further in a few days. Maybe someone will see activity in the group and read what we have here and also decide it's a good idea. I'll make a general post in a couple days if no one shows up. How do you feel about this, Anne?

message 8: by Jade (new)

Jade Anders (moxangel) | 4 comments I've been wanting to reread all the books, too! Not many stories get to me emotionally quite the way Brian Jacques's do. I haven't even read all of them yet, but his work influenced me a lot through childhood. I also loved the show, which is on Youtube now if anyone wants to know.

message 9: by Samuel (new)

Samuel (sajcripp) | 16 comments I have seen the show too, but I like the books better. :P Isn't that always the case? There are a few towards the end of Jacques's career that I haven't read, i.e., Sable Queen, but I did read Doomwyte. It was . . . interesting.

How lovely to see all the activity! (Honestly, this is a boom compared to past years, lol). I shall do some housework on the previous threads and set up a reading schedule.

You all must have an opinion on the read through, though. Chronological, by publishing date, or however randomly you might think fitting.

I am typically easy to get ahold of by private message, if anyone has questions or ideas. But I think this thread is a great place to toss around ideas to get the group back up and running!

message 11: by Samuel (new)

Samuel (sajcripp) | 16 comments I'd like to read them chronilogically. It's something I've always wanted to do but never got around to. Like I said, though, I just finished Lord Brocktree (first in the chronilogical order, not that you all didn't know that ;P), so I'll be a book ahead.

message 12: by Tessa (new)

Tessa Smith | 6 comments Sooooooo when should we officially start this? Should we just start now? And also we should figure out the complete chronological order before we officially start so we are all on the same page. It would also help anyone that joins us later on.

message 13: by Samuel (new)

Samuel (sajcripp) | 16 comments Here's what I found on Goodreads for the chronological order: https://www.goodreads.com/series/5193...

Jade Anders (moxangel) | 4 comments I'm so excited to revisit these books, about to go to the library to look for Lord Brocktree!!

message 18: by Ally046 (new)

Ally046 | 23 comments I've been reading and rereading Redwall since i was 10, so like 5 years.
The only flaw i can find in the series is that it always comes to an end.
😥

message 19: by Terminotter (new)

Terminotter | 19 comments I feel the same way. I want to own each book in the series. I already have a signed copy of redwall that was printed in 1986.

message 20: by Terminotter (new)

Terminotter | 19 comments Every redwall book is at the pikes peak library district.

message 22: by preemie09 (new)

preemie09 Hey guys I just joined and can’t wait to start reading the redwall series! Is this group still active?

message 23: by Jade (new)

Jade Anders (moxangel) | 4 comments I’m still here! However, I think a second Redwall group was created. I don’t know about the activity. Long live the spirit of Brian Jacques and his incredible imagination and storytelling!
