Being an certain type of Elemental is based off of who you are and who your parents are. 9/10 you are the same Elemental as you parents, but once you become of age, and your powers start to emerge you really know. That is why whenever an Elemental reaches the age of 17, you are either placed in your appropriate element clan, or you stay in the one you are born in. As you settle in you start your training giving you a better understanding of what you can do.
Being apart of the Earth Elemental clan means that you must be tough. You must be able to defend the rest of your clan members, and you must not let any other Type of Elemental tell you any different than what your clan says.
