From when her parents had her doing psychic readings, Kali got a fair amount of money. When they died she inherited everything, which she used almost all of to buy the house outright. There are no payments left. This large house backs up to a large section of forest, some of which is technically included in the backyard. There is a dying garden along the right side, which she only sometimes remembers to water. It's a collection of old and new rooms and parts, which she loves. Some things she wants traditional, like the house came, and others she wants more modern and functional, so she had those updated.

KT (queenlykt) | 1346 comments "Look. We can talk out our feelings later. Right now let's just concentrate on getting the problem solved, shall we?" Variel said firmly, opening her door and lunging from the car when they were finally stopped. Apparently Damien wanted to just get them all killed in traffic and save the devil some effort. Kali, who was waiting at the door, rose and walked out. Vari blinked, "You know you have...."
"As a matter of fact I do know there's a spider on my shoulder, just as I know there's a snake in my sweatshirt pocket. The spider is Athena and neither of them will bite you." Kali interrupted, sounding a bit annoyed. Evidently no sleep had taken its toll, and she looked tired, for once in just a pullover hoodie and sweatpants. Putting effort into looking how she felt was her best was not the main concern. "Come inside. And Variel, sit down. Damien you might want to as well. Salem... You should, but only because you almost died. Damien and Variel, I want you to sit so when I explain this you don't fall over, because I don't need any heart attacks in my house." She said flatly, turning and striding to the living room, where she sat on a plush chair facing the couch.

((sorry I passed out last night.))

Damien sat on the couch and Salem sat at the other end. He still couldn't stand to be close to him after knowing what e knew now. Damien shrugged, "Alright...what do you have to tell us?" He asked coldly. he was ina hurry and had no patience for some antics of a Seer. Damien was beginning to question if this was good news or bad news. Salem was twiddling his thumbs and bouncing his left leg on his ankle. Both boys were nervous and all dAmien could think to do was set up a protection spell on the house long enough to obscure Satan's vision.

KT (queenlykt) | 1346 comments Variel was quite content to sit in between the two, partially because there was nowhere else, partially because she liked both of their company, and partially because she didn't want the two to kill each other. "Don't even try to interrupt me on this because there is no coffee in my house, and I've been up all night. And it's not been a good one." Kali began, eyes narrowing as she swept them over the visitors. The snake, Perseus, began to slither from her sweatshirt pocket and she absently put a hand in front of him so he started wrapping around her arm. "Satan isn't going to go for Salem." She said at last. Variel started to say something, and Kali glared at her. "I'm going to answer the question of 'why not' in two seconds, if you'd let me finish." She snapped, holding the familiar's gaze for a long moment before returning to address the whole group. "Now. He won't go for Salem. Satan wants to go for the person closest related to Damien. Generally, a child. As Damien has treated Salem as a son, he was the closest relative. He's not anymore." Slowly, Kali looked back over at Variel. "Now there is an actual child to go for." She said gently, glancing at Variel's stomach before up at her face, which was slowly beginning to pale.
Variel laughed sharply, though she could not hide the twinge of unease. "You're kidding." She snorted, waving a hand dismissively. Kali didn't respond, just watched the familiar sadly as the blood slowly drained from Variel's face. "You're kidding, right? Tell me you're kidding, you have to be kidding!" Her voice rose gradually in terror, becoming almost hysterical. She looked at Damien frantically, "Tell me she's kidding!" She begged. Vari had never been good with kids. She didn't really like them, and they didn't like her. In high school with her antics it had always been a fear she'd get pregnant, and a miracle she hadn't. That fear had never really gone away. Besides, now the devil was going to try and kill it. This was a world class nightmare.

Damien seemed to pale at the news just as much as Variel if not more. what was he supposed to do now. At least with Salem he could cut his ties to him and find a loophole. But now, he had a child on the way by a Familiar...not only was the birth not preordained by the Seer, but to bare a child out of wedlock was a heinous crime to the Coven. For mortals it was frowned upon, but for Witches it was a crime like marrying a mortal. Variel was not mortal anymore, but she was certainly a Familiar the slaves of the Coven no law has ever had to be made against it because it never happened. Most used them for sexual pleasures, but beyond that nothing else. Damien was in shock..."Kali, you have to curse the birth of our child. It can't take place. If we are both willing to accept your curse against the child's birth then it won't be born by binding magic. Curse it now..we are not married and she is a Familiar surely there are laws against such a thing you have to tell us that our marriage and child are both cursed in the name of the Seer in front of the High Priestess. It has to be done!" He said frantically looking for any other way. "Our laws are binding and strict you have to do it." He was trying not to beg her and it was becoming harder by the second.
Salem went wide eyed, "You will damn it's soul born or unborn, Damien! If you desire the birth to be cursed and accept it as a curse then the child won't be born. Where do you think unborn children cursed go? They belong to him if they are announced to belong to no one!" Salem was furious he would say such a thing about an unborn child. No matter who he was looking out for he was going to fail one way or another. He should have accepted that when he chose to become a Wraith. "I'm not staying here for this." Salem stood abruptly and when Damien went to use his pwoers on him to make him stop he realized quickly that it was of no use. He could not ever use his powers on his little brother. He sat back down, "I'm sorry...it's the only way I know." Salem rolled his eyes and the door could be heard slamming behind him.

KT (queenlykt) | 1346 comments "Sit down!" Kali snapped sharply, even as she rose to her feet. She peeled the snake from her arm and set it in the chair where she had been. "There are two parents for every child. You two need to talk this over while I get Salem." She said flatly. "And by the way? There are no laws. I looked all night. It's never happened before so they didn't bother making a law against it." Striding to the door, she flung it open and moved after Salem. She closed it behind her, even as she put a hand to her shoulder. The tarantula on it crawled off and onto her hand. "Salem!" She called, looking around for a moment. Then she walked over to him. "Do you really think so poorly of me? I'm not going to curse the child." She promised. "But don't think so badly of your brother. He's just scared. So is Variel." She studied him intently. "You look up to her, right? Now's your chance to be able to return the favor. She's scared too." She ran the hand not holding the spider through her hair, wincing slightly. "God, she's so scared. Hell, they're both terrified of this. They don't trust me. And I can't make them. But because they don't trust me, I can't help them as much as I wish I could. You're younger than them, of course. But you are going to have to help them. They love and trust you, Salem."

By now, Variel was crying. This was a huge mess, and they couldn't fix it. "Damien..." She whimpered, looking over at him. "What are we going to do? We can't curse it, it's not his or her fault that we have a deal to fulfill. It's just a child. We can't condemn it to hell for eternity!" She begged. Then her frown deepened. "What is it even going to be? I'm a dog half the time, you kill things to live. Will it even be normal, by either one of our standards? I don't want this. I never wanted kids. Kids hate me. And I don't know what to do around them. We can't sacrifice an unborn child, but then... Oh god, even if we don't He's going to try and take it anyway, isn't He? There's nothing we can do!"

Salem glared as Akli had stopped im from walking off, "What do you know of love and trust. they betrayed my trust. How do either of us know if this hasn't been apart of Damien's plan all along? He meant to have a child with Variel so it wouldn't mean anything to him for when he has kids with a Witch? You don't know...You may be able to see into the future of others, but even the Sight grants misleading information which can lead to a great turn of events. Damien may act like he cares but he has killed innocents! Do you see no crime here? Whether he is willing to sacrifice a child or not for power he still has crimes that need to be paid for. If that child makes it through it's life I promsie he won't be around to ruin it's life like he has mine. I will take him and variel far away form here or even jsut the child if I msut jsut to make sure that he doesn't grow up shrouded in the mystery of death that Wraith's have cursed our town into." Salem felt rage, fear, and pure anxiety creeping onto him slowly. the overcast sky began to dark and thunder inthe distance as a storm threatened to pour upon them.

Damien shook hishead, "You're right, there is nothing we can do to stop Lucifer from claiming his part of the deal. Unless another sacrifices themselves in the stead of our child then the deal will be sealed by his soul. I'm sorry Variel, but if there were a way out it will be far more difficult to find now than ever before. We are stuck in abinding contract. With my blood running through the veins of that child one can only imagine what it will be born to become, then agian imagine is all we will ahve the chance to do becuase he is known to claim his debts in full rather quickly. We eitehr sacrifice this child and have another or we run, forever only to be found far later down the road. It is hard to hide form someone who reigns everywhere at once." Damien explained having no clue what to do anymore. He hadn't planned ahead for this and the chess board seemed ot have been flipped. He was playing Satan's game now, by his own rules. It was follow the game all the way through without cheating or pay the price of his own soul.

KT (queenlykt) | 1346 comments "Oh for the love of-" Kali pinched the bridge of her nose. "Don't you understand? They don't even know this child and they dread what will happen to it. They want to protect it. I can read a person's thoughts and emotions. Whatever you think of him, even he would not dismiss Variel or a child so coldly. Now. I am perfectly aware that he has committed crimes. We have an agreement on that. After this is over, I decide what to do, whether it's turn him in or banish him. But Salem, try and understand." After putting the spider back on her shoulder she put her hands on Salem's shoulders and turned him to face her, looking up at him with her eyes narrowing. "They haven't even held the kid and they're already trying to save it, no matter what the cost. There are far worse parents. Mine had known me for years, and they were still perfectly willing to try and sacrifice me. I see many crimes in Damien, but hating this child or sacrificing it is not one of them." She insisted, then paused and tilted her head as if listening. "It is not one of Variel's either. She may insist she doesn't like kids, but I can already see that she loves that child more than anything. She will not let anything happen to it."

Trembling, Variel leaned against him, covering her face with her hands. "I don't want kids. I've never wanted kids. Kids hate me. And it's kind of mutual." She laughed without any trace of amusement of happiness, just flat out fear. She was silent for a long moment, her hands sliding down from her face to rest listlessly in her lap. "I'll do it." She finally said in a small voice. "You said someone else could sacrifice themselves in the place of the child. I'll do it." She closed her eyes, refusing to look at Damien. "I'd rather do that myself than have my son or daughter tortured for all eternity." She shuddered slightly at the mere thought, pressing closer to her witch. "I mean, I've lived. Granted the years of your life supposed to be the 'best' I was busy trying to stay off drugs, but still. It may not have been perfect, but is anyone's? I have had a good life. I was happy. Our child deserves to have a chance at that much. I berate my parents for ignoring me, but that's nothing compared to what I'd do to myself if I just let my kid get taken before he or she could even live, and then spend forever in hell and in pain."

Salem wanted to believe Kali, but deep down he was just as concerned. "Damien is and always will be a Wraith. A murderer who is owned by Satan. You can't honestly see any good in him. It is impossible to see good in evil. He takes people's souls to survive. Only someone truly evil will be able to do such crimes against nature. You only hold sympathy becuase he has flooded your mind with thoughts that he wants you to hear and see. He wants you to feel sympathy for him and therefore join him. He wants to be a great leader over Witches and mortals alike and he will do anything to do it. He may not want that child dead, but he will find a way that an innocent will be sacrificed without any emotional attachment on his part." Salem explained as his eyes began to tear up. "If you truly feel that Damien is good somewhere deep down then I'll do it...I love my family and that means that child is my family. I'll sacrifice myself. He technically claimed me as his son before knowledge of his real child. It makes me first born. His or not he has been my father. I'll sacrifice myself." Salem at last came to the conclusion that Damien's life will be easier without him and Variel would be able to focus on a real family. Erin was his sister, but she would deserve better anyway. He didn't want her growing up learning how dark Damien was. He wanted her to see his lighter side.

Damien shook his head taking Vari's face into his hands and pressing hsi forehead agaisnt hers. He rubbed her cheeks with his thumbs, "Variel...You can't...I love you enough to not be able to see anytihng happen to you. We will fidn another way around this. I promise. You can't sacrifice yourself so that our child can live and I can accomplish my goals. I won't let you. I'd sacrifice all of my own power before I see you die." He promised hating the thogut of losing her or the child now. "Please let me fidn another way aorund this. We have nine months before he collects, right?"

KT (queenlykt) | 1346 comments "And I'm sure he really wanted me to see and know what he did. Salem, I can read minds. When I touch someone I can see everything they've done. I am not so easy to fool." Kali shook her head slightly. "I am not saying he's actually the best person in the world, but he is not as bad as it seems that he is. He is not a bad person. And by the way? I am nowhere near joining him. I am helping for now so no one else dies. Including you. I am not going to let you sacrifice yourself. His life won't be better without you. Variel won't be able to focus when she's too busy worrying about what's happening to you in hell at that time. You think you dying will help Erin any? Because it won't." She shook her head, still staring firmly up at him. Then she sighed, biting her lip. "Besides, you'll have to fight Variel for it. She isn't exactly keen on the thought of her child burning in hell for forever." She frowned and moved her hands away from him, rubbing her temples. "Dammit. Dammit dammit dammit." She hissed furiously. She had a solution, but she really, really didn't want to follow through with it.

Looking back at him, Variel bit her lip. "There's no other way." She said almost pleadingly, starting to cry. "I can't let you or him/her, or Salem go through that! I can prevent it and you're asking me to not? There's no way I can just stand aside and let it all happen." She protested. She pulled away slightly, just enough to move away from his hands and instead resting her head on his lap, curling up sideways on the couch. She gave a soft sigh, closing her eyes. "Here. Let's make a deal. We have nine months to try and come up with another plan. But if we don't in that time... I'm not going to let you or the child get hurt. Nine months or it's the only option."

Salem looked shocked, "Variel can't sacrifice herself. If it becomes a permanent choice to sacrifice herself in the place of her child Satan will take them both right now. It cna't be permanent for as long as I want to do it too. I am sacrificing myself to the ruler of the Netherworld and that is final. I don't care whose life it hurts or who's it helps jsut so it isn't that child." He was being very defiant with his choice. He was determined that Variel and Damien were to raise that child together....Then Kali started damning things. "What's wrong?" He was confused almsot entirely now.

Damien shook his head, "Losing you would mean losing a part of myself. I won't allow that to happen, Vari. You mean the world to me and so does that kid. I won't let you do anything rash not even in nine months. Satan will have his soul and it won't be yours or our kids." He was amking another demand more than a plead. Normally when Damien made a command it was seen through.

KT (queenlykt) | 1346 comments "Well. There's only one real option left." Kali groaned, pinching the bridge of her nose. "I'm going to need you to help though." She sighed. "I don't have anyone I'm close to. No one will miss me. Besides..." She sighed again, wincing. "I have two souls in me right now. That gives me more of a chance of being ok throughout all this than any of you have. Now your part? If it is complete and I do completely die, well, there's no other Seer. You're the only one with any mental powers. I can help you learn to use those, but as I said, if this backfires on me then you'll have to hold the Seer position until a true one comes along." She summarized briefly, running a hand through her bicolored hair.

"I can't die anyway, Damien. I can only die if you do. I mean, it won't be overly pleasant, but I have more of a chance than you do." Variel insisted, turning her head to look up at him. "And I'm banning you from doing it." She warned, heading him off before he could say anything. She sighed, biting her lip. Now what would they do? "It's not rash either." She protested.

Salem was really in shock now, "Wait, you have two souls? How is that possible. Wraith's take souls so they can
t cross over and be judged good or bad. Are you a wraith too?" He asked horrified by the thought. "And I can't be a Seer. Even if the High Priestess and the Elder's allowed me to recieve the Sight that doesn't mean I will be able to use the Sight the way a true Seer does...Not to mention do you know how often it actually occurs for a true Seer to be born in the same generation or lifetime as another. You were that rare exception. Eric and you both are and were true Seers. It could be fifty years before another one is born into our Coven." Salem was trying to grasp it all, but it seem nearly impossible. How could Kali think that sacrificing one of ehr souls would be able to fix the solution. Kali wasn't close to Damien like im and Vari were and Satan could take her soul and turn around to take one of theirs too. His contracts and deals were binding and he made them with loopholes for a reason not just to benefit others, but also himself.

Damien shook his head standing up, "I won't let you whether you die or not once I do no matter what you will be bonded to me and Satan he will own you. And if our marriage is blessed by Kali and the Elders they will break your bond to me. I can't feel separation from you...I wouldn't last. You are my sanity. We will find a way around this and no matter what happens your soul and the soul of our child will be perfectly fine. That is a promise I mean to keep." He had to sacrifice an innocent clsoe to him or even another infant. his mind began to wonder if there were any children at the hospital with no family to care for them He could sacrifice one of them upon their child's birth. His family would still be able to live and his throne will remain entirely secure by the bargain of the deal being met.

KT (queenlykt) | 1346 comments "You're the closest one to a Seer that there is at the moment. I am trying to help someone gets out of a deal with the devil. If something happens to me then there is no coven Seer. I want to have at least a backup with some very basic knowledge." Kali insisted, folding her arms across her chest, completely unflinching as the tarantula started down her arm. "I am not a wraith, I promise you. I just..." She shook her head, pulling away from him and pacing in a circle, rubbing her temples. "Eric. His name was Eric. The Seer before me? He was attacked by wraiths a long while ago. Your brother... He made a mistake. And Eric died because of it. He took his soul, but he saved it. So he gave it to me. I have Eric's soul now, alongside mine. Two souls in here." She lightly tapped the side of her head, biting her lip lightly. "So you see now, why I can promise you I am not emotionally biased for your brother? He killed my Eric. It may have been an accident, but I will never forgive him for that." She stopped facing him, her eyes narrowing.

Tilting her head up to watch him as he walked, Variel sat back up on the couch. "Just remember, if you die I die. So you can't go sacrificing yourself either if you want to keep me alive." She warned, reluctantly rising to her feet. She sighed softly, stepping forward to hug him, kissing his cheek lightly. "We'll figure something out, right?" She said hopefully.

Salem nodded, "You see, Damien has taken mroe than his fair share from nearly everyone in the Coven. He is doing nothing but hurting us all. If it comes to it I say take Damien's power turn him over tot eh Coven leaders and have him exposed as a Wraith. Wraith's give ther own souls up after their first kill. You can't tell me that anytihng is justified by what he has done. He is a cold blooded murderer. Why allow Variel or their child to suffer or even you or Eric to suffer if Damien si the one who committed the crime. We are sacrificing ourselves for someone who has sacrificed others for himself." Slem was getting back into his moral mindset and Damien continued to become the criminal in all of this. If Vari and Kali were too blind to understand that then he would have to go to the Elders nd the High Priestess himself and if that didn't work...He knew where to find the Witch hunters.

Damien nodded kissing her forehead back. "I jsut can't lose you or my child. I will sacrifice the world to spend eternity with my family." He explained clearly plotting even deeper into his own thoughts. Perhaps he could make sufficient sacrifices to add up to his own soul. The Devil himself once told him that no soul is equal to another. Damien knew with the risk taken by Lucifer his own soul was worth far more than most. Satan was counting on him for a greater purpose.

KT (queenlykt) | 1346 comments "Are you stupid?" Kali snapped irritably, though it was obvious she wasn't really mad at him directly. "Have you completely forgotten that despite what's happening now, Variel is still a familiar? And what they will do to Damien as a wraith?" She stared at him. "Damien will die. If you're all very lucky, he will die quickly. And you know what happens when he dies? Variel dies. And then that child will die too. I don't even believe you want Damien to die. You couldn't live with yourself for that, and you want to condemn him and two innocent people? And I assure you when they die they're not taking the stairway to heaven. They'll be taking an elevator straight downstairs." She glared at him. "That is not an option."

Biting her lip, Variel leaned against him. She closed her eyes, carefully tugging him back to sit on the couch. She didn't move away from him though, still leaning against him. She shifted though so her back was against him, head on his shoulder. "You need to relax a bit. If you just breath, maybe we can stop and think of something." She said half hopefully. "There has to be some way out of this. We just have to try and come up with it."

Salem glared, "You act as if I have no death on my conscience. I can tell you now that I do. Life has already been condemned on my fault. It has always been my fault. And I know that if a proper trial is set into place then Variel can have her bond removed. As much as I love my brother one innocent has died by my own actions. Why not one who is not innocent? I have my own skeletons to hide, but if I turn Damien in and petition the Elders and High Priestess to free variel I will also turn myself in for my own crimes." Salem explained clearly set on the thought that Damien was evil and deserved death more than life no matter how much he loved his brother. Salem was just as guilty and he would certainly condemn himself with his brother only after defending Variel and their child. "Let's drop it for now and get back inside. I can't think straight right now. I have got to get home and have a few drinks to clear my head." With his clouded mind the overcast skies grew darker as well. Slowly the low setting clouds released the pressure built up. It began to sprinkle then it grew harder like a wave. Salem ran to the front door and stood waiting.

Damien nodded, "You're right..let's get a calm grasp on things so we can figure it all out. I love you, Variel." He said before sitting back on the couch holding her hand as he did so. He then heard the rain, "Great...now it's raining...I hope Kali got Salem alright." He said really concerned about Salem now. He couldn't stand to lose him so soon in his life. He understood where he was coming from, but a sacrifice had to be made it was only to be questioned who.

Kali snarled at him, seeming fierce for once. "Not to mention, I have an agreement with Damien. I may not like it, but it's what we agreed on. I am not going to break my end of a bargain." She warned, raising an eyebrow at him. "Breaking apart a familiar and witch is... It's not an easy thing. They've been bonded for two years. They share emotions. It's as if their minds are starting to link together. And you want to rip that apart. I saw it once. There were no physical injuries but you have never seen two people in so much pain." She shook her head. "And have you ever tried to break apart two people that love each other?" She snorted. "I dare you to go in there and tell Variel and Damien they have to break their bond." Shaking her head she pulled open the door, striding through.

Variel grinned slightly, looking up to kiss his cheek. "Love you too." She assured him, relaxing against him. She closed her eyes comfortably, thinking. She raised one eyebrow at the sound of Kali moving through the door, but didn't move or open her eyes. "In school they always told you to state the problem first. I'm really not sure how that's going to help here though." She mused.

Salem followed Kali in...He was determined to keep his mouth shut as best as possible. He loved Varia dn Damien enough to respect them in such a sense. Kali wasn't going to let her deal fall so easily and Salem wasn't about to let his brother sacrifice another person just for his own selfish goals. However, he wasn't going to make it known that he planned to stop Damien from achieving those goals. In fact he was avoiding any full thought about it. He started to realize why Damien avoided the Seer and others with such abilities to see into ones mind so fully. He had to do the same, but it was to protect others not kill others for a great cause.

Damien frowned upon seeing Salem walk in. He knew Salem wasn't going t speak to him for awhile if at all. He would have to regain his brothers trust again through time and patience. He leaned his head against Vari's and smiled, "So what did you talk about?" He asked curiously. He wasn't going to press the matter if it wasn't of importance, but he wanted to know. He and Variel had a deep conversation during their absence and he had to know just how deep Kali's conversation ahd gotten with Salem.

Witches fear what I can do. No one wants their secrets laid out like a book that I can read as easily as breathing. I usually look a bit too eccentric for mortals to treat me normally." She shrugged, pausing in the living room in front of them. "I'm no help half asleep. There's three bedrooms." She gestured in the general direction. "You can find them. Use them if you want. I'm going to bed. And I am perfectly aware that none of you are really too keen on wanting me to stay here. So I'm going to go to sleep. If you need help call me. Or just think really loudly, because evidently I'm always trying to mentally stalk everyone." She said dryly, turning and starting for her room.

Variel smiled cheerfully up at Salem, opening her eyes. "How are you doing?" She fussed, starting to sit up as she studied him.

Salem shrugged not desiring to give any words on exactly how he was doing. He turned following Kali out...He didn't say another word at all. He was sure if he dared to open his mouth he would get pissed off or someone else would end up pissed. He found a room across from Kali's, but before he walked in the door was half open his hand on the side..."I don't care if you read my mind. It is the mere fact that I want my secrets kept. I want to trust you Kali...but IF you trust Damine...I question myself as to whether or not I can trust you too. I know you are going to say I can trust you, but I need to convince myself and not have someone else attempt to convince me."

Damien shrugged, "Come on, Baby...You need rest." Damien stood reaching his hand out for Variel to take. He was grateful for the Seer even if Salem didn't trust her he had no choice in the matter. He hoped that Eric's soul would help in letting her know that he needed her help more than ever.

Word of advice, never go to a club or anything even with a friend if you can read minds. It is mentally scarring what guys there think. Anyway. I trust everyone, but that's only because I trust myself not to be wrong. And like and trust are very different things. I'm not going to even try to make you trust me, but... Please don't think so little of me that I would tell everyone your secrets. I do not tell anyone's secrets unless that secret puts someone in danger." Kali smiled slightly, tilting her head as she studied him. She stepped just slightly into her room, opening the cage just inside the door and carefully picking up the spider from her arm and putting it in the cage. The snake was currently on top of its cage, and she carefully pushed it into the cage and closed it again. She hovered in the doorway again, studying him.

Variel accepted his hand, using it to help rise to her feet. She grinned slightly, looking up at him. "I'm going to guess that this means the pair of us only need one bedroom." She teased dryly, tilting her head to look up at him. She sighed softly and kissed him lightly, smiling.

Salem nodded, "Right...well...Thank you, but believe me some of my secrets may put others in danger." To Salem simply being a murderer like damien made himno better than him and he deserved a horrible suffering in Hell jsut as much as damien did. He lost his best friend to his own selfish ways jsut as Damien has killed so many for his own selfish needs. He felt uneasy knowing Kali was listneing in on his thoguhts, but it also made him feel somewhat better that she could understand his point of view without judging him. She said she made a bargain with Damien, but did that mean she trusted him too? He has givne her plenty of reasons to not trust him, but at the same time she was seeing parts of people that no one else saw, heck some fo those people didn't evne see htose parts of themsevles. If Kali trusted Salem enough to replace her if need be then he felt that he should be able to trust her too. "Thanks, Kali." He said having worked out his own therapy session in his own head by thinking abotu what was going on in her head. He helped his own mind to ease, but he still felt he owed her the thanks as most therapy sessions go.

Damien smiled, "You guessed right, sexy." He smirked hsi charming seductive smirk that would always lure someone to him and even attempt to pull Variel closer to do as he wanted without saying anytihng. She was perfect for him. With the Empathy link he saw no faults in her and she saw none in him. Simply to wed her and bear a child with her would jsut be another step in their relationship. They were already so intimately close no amtter how bad it was at times for either of them they both had no choice but to know how the other felt and see it from both perspectives. Damien led her upstairs to the bedrooms reaching one that was off from Kali's and Salem's. He wanted to make love to Variel and he didn't want anyone to hear them. With Variel it wasn't always jsut sex to feel good..IT was the night they made lvoe last that conceived this child. He wanted to make even more passionate love to her tonight. they were inthis together and he wanted it to stay that way.

"If it helps any? I don't always try. I can focus in on some specific people and thoughts, but I can never turn it off completely. Which is why it is going to be a long, awkward night for me." She scrunched up her nose reluctantly, glancing over to the room Variel and Damien were going into down the hall from Kali and Salem. "Here, sometime I'll brave a club with you and we can find a cute guy that's into you." She offered with a grin. "I am an advantage when it comes to finding someone to date."

Variel grinned mischievously at Damien, cheerfully hooking her arm through his as they made their way to a room. Pushing the door shut behind them with her foot, she smiled as she kissed him contentedly. "Hm. Sexy, huh?" She mused, lightly pushing him back to the bed and following along with him. "How sexy is sexy?" She teased with a grin, gently pushing him so he was sitting on the bed and she perched on his lap.

Salem smiled, "That really would be nice...If Damien would ever accept that I'm into guys." He said it feeling that Damien would rather avoid the subject than confront it. "I take it Damien and Vari are going to be having some fun then...huh?" He was grateful to have a friend who would help find dates for him, but he still felt uneasy abotu bringing a boyfriend around Damien. He had dated girls all his life and all through high school to avoid Damien thinking anything else. If he was able to date and Damien be happy he found someone he would possibly try and forget Damien's own crimes. All he has ever wanted was acceptance. "I guess I'll let you get some rest. I need some myself after rushing out of the hospital. Goodnight...I guess Good evening." He smirked before closing the door not wanting to keep Kali up. She really was nice and whether she cared or not he felt like she did and that was enough for him.

Damien smirked as she pushed him down on the bed. "Believe me you are sexy enough to eat." He played his words softly on his tongue as he kept his lips clsoe to hers jsut from touching hers. His hands held her hips on him as arousal was creeping on him. It was lust, but it was a very sensual lust. He wanted her in a way that only a devoted man would want his woman who he held complete loyalty to. He laid back her still straddling him he still held her hips. "You look amazing....I want to do so much to you...but I want you to do more to me."

He cares about you, he's just not sure how to take it." She winced slightly and shook her head, really trying to clear it from the thoughts she got. "And yes. They are." She sighed reluctantly as she stepped back into her room and closed the door behind her, leaning her head forward to smack her forehead against the door. "Unfortunately." She muttered, heading for her bed. Of course two minutes later she was reciting the periodic table of elements, doing everything she could to try and just stop seeing all these thoughts. She wasn't used to all these people in the house, that and what was happening down the hall was... Well, it was not exactly quiet thoughts.

Variel smiled, leaning down after him to kiss him lightly. "You're not too shabby yourself." She teased, her hands moving up after. "I can assure you that I will do all these things you want me to do to you." She mused as She slowly undid the top button on his shirt, "I love you, you know." She said in a completely casual, conversational tone of voice before kissing him again, unbuttoning the next one.

Damien smirked, "I love you so much, Vari." He said feeling nothing but love and desire swirling through his mind. He saw violent yet sensual sex all stirring into a mix of blood, sweat, and orgasms. "I want you so badly." Damien said no longer able to take it as he pulled his own shirt off quickly holding her hips tightly as he turned her onto he rback. He kissed her deeply and passionately. Grinding his hips into hers as he bit agianst her neck jerking up on her own shirt with one hand pulling down at both his and hers bottoms. This night was ggoing to erotically charged with passion from the both of them.

That Night

Damien woke up hardly covered by a sheet with Vari on one arm curled to his chest. moonlight shined through the window and seemed to be nearly perfect to wake up to. He turned looking at Variel's sweet sleeping face with a smile. He felt like he could live like this forever. He kissed her cheek before getting up and pulling is shorts back on and his socks and shoes. He grabbed i=is shirt from across the room. He walked out quitely movignto the kitchen hoping the Seer drank coffee because he needed that or some alcohol.

Salem woke up from a dark dream. his memories were coming to surface more and more. For now whatever gift it was that everyone was claiming him to ahve it only worked on him, but he was sure once he had ascended it would be more powerful. He has slept in his underwear so getitng up he had to pull is shorts on and is shirt then his socks and shoes and his hat. He stepped out guessing everyone was still in bed. He needed to leave for a bit. He had to get away for the stress and get his thoguhts together. His memories he knew of were filling with mroe vivid detail it was as if he could forget nothing. He walked toward the door and saw dAmien walk aorundthe corner. He froze unable to handle the stress the guy was putting on him already. He didn't want to even look at him right now and felt that he could never look at him the same way. Salem crept toward the door hoping to not get heard by Damien.

Give me a minute. I'm still a bit mentally scarred from last night. I can't even look at you for right now Damien." She blanched, shuddering slightly. She bit her lip, glancing at Damien then shaking her head. "Nope, not yet. Still too scarred." She decided firmly, turning back around. "So. Coffee is in the cabinet above the coffee pot. Alcohol... Well, there's some in the fridge, some in the cabinet beside the coffee. Knock yourself out, except stay away from my Creme Brûlée Liqueur. It's by Dancing Pines and I rarely get a chance to get my hands on it." She warned, pinching the bridge of her nose. Under her breath she started muttering. "Hydrogen, helium, lithium, beryllium, boron, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, fluorine..." Listing the periodic table of elements was her last defense of trying to block out thoughts. And it wasn't working very well at the moment. "Stop thinking so loud!" She snapped irritably, wincing painfully.

Damien smirked, "Oh sorry...I forgot you had trouble shutting things like that out. Well, you must have enjoyed it a little. Otherwise it wouldn't still be on your mind." He said with a smile of clear pleasure and satisfaction. He reached for some coffee and cups and started brewing some before moving toward the alcohol happy to find some vodka. Damien pulled out pouring some into his coffee cup then setting it back. It took a few for the coffee to finish as he poured it into the cup of vodka. He stirred it and took a strong sip happy to know that he could wake ups o exhausted yet happy.

Salem opened the door and as he did so it started creaking. All he was thinking about was working on unlocking his own abilities and perhaps alone time could hep, even thought it was dangerous to practice ones own powers or even spells alone. He didn't really care he wanted to do something to get off his mind the fact that his brother is a Wraith. It would be hard concealing something like that form others with telepathy. It is one thing for those inthe Coven to talk to one another through the mind, but those gifted with the pwoer to talk, and hear anyone and any of their thoguhts made it a bit difficult to conceal things.

She closed her eyes tightly again, continuing the mental chanting of the table of elements. It wasn't helping. "Salem!" She called over to him, desperate for any distraction at this point.

"Well, good morning all. Why the hell are we all up at this ridiculous time?" Variel mused as she headed back out to the kitchen, joining the others. Luckily she'd thrown on a sports bra and shorts as she wandered over, cheerfully stealing Damien's cup to take a drink.

"Aargh! Not you too! Stop thinking so loudly!" The Seer snarled, glaring at Variel as she rubbed her temples.

"Damn. Chill out." Variel raised her hands up in the traditional surrender position, setting the cup back on the counter. She jumped up to sit on the counter beside where Damien stood, resting a hand calmly on his shoulder.

"God, you all think too loud! I'm going outside before I go crazy. Maybe some fresh air will help." Though Kali knew it wouldn't, she made a beeline for the door. Maybe some distance would help. "Ah, Salem. You are welcome to join me. Incidentally, I want to talk to you about something." She offered as she moved past him.

((Spirits club and bar post?))

Damien smirked, but when she said Salem he was going to say something, but Variel walked in and all he could think about was the hot erotic night they had. He madea pouty face when she snatch up his coffee and vodka. "Hey...I was drinking that..." He dropped it quickly giving a nod to Kali..."Have fun...If we aren't here when you get back it is because we went out clubbing." He looked at Variel a bit mischievously. "Hope I didn't bite you too hard last night." He said pushing her hair to the side seeing not a full hickey, but full teeth marks bruised into her skin. He slid his hand up her leg examining her inner thigh finding the same marks. He then sensually slid between her legs while she was ont he counter and kissed ehr deeply holding her hands in his one moment then sliding his hands to ehr wrist flipping them after the kiss and examining the grip bruises he had left. "Are you alright?" He asked a bit worried at how much he had marked her.

Salem paused at the sound of his name and hoped he wouldn't be called into the kitchen. Luckily Kali walked up and offered company. As much as he wasn't wanting any he knew she would want to talk privately no matter. He followed without protest out the door closing it behind him. "I can't believe you even let them do that in your house. You think hearing their thoughts is bad try hearing them outloud when my room is a full floor above them with rather thick walls." He explained as they walked out the door and toward the road. Kali's home was a bit more populated than theirs. Damien made it a point to have a cut off home form everyone else. As High Priest people accepted that he enjoyed privacy.

She shook her head slightly with her mischievous grin. "See, I tried to be nice to you. Because I can do this-" she smiled wider, baring white teeth that shifted to canine fangs for a moment before going back to normal. "So. We're going clubbing then?" She asked cheerfully.

"Actually, that leads me to my next topic rather well." Kali chuckled slightly, fun winced and shook her head sharply. "Damn they are not subtle. They think too loud. Anyway." She turned her head to look at him. "If you want, you can stay here with me. I'm not saying you have to by any means, it's just an offer. Those two would get their space at their home, you wouldn't be mentally scarred every few nights, and I can help you with your powers. I know more people with different powers, and I'm on fairly good terms with them. I can have them help you with the powers you need help with, that way you'd get a specialist essentially. And... I know you're worried about bringing a boy around Damien when you would want to hang out with your date. I'm fine with it. Just let me meet him and then I can escape. You don't even have to stay all the time, just a couple times a week if you wish." She smiled slightly as she looked over at him. "I'll do what I can to be a good friend, I can promise you that. Salem nodded as they walked down the sidewalk. "Are you seriously offering me a place to stay? I mean I love my house and all, but if I could come here to escape that would be amazing. I may need help getting to and from school and all at least until this year ends which is just in a a week or so. It really would be great. I mean thanks...you have no idea what it means to know I can trust someone. I jsut worry abotu what Damien might say. he isn't exactly what one would call the understanding type." Salem explained fearful entirely of what Damien would say or do. The moon was shining through rather brightly not a cloud in the sky and with few street lights the stars were perfectly visible. "Are you sure you really want me around? I doubt I'll have any guys over because well..ever since my best friend things with trying to come out to guys hasn't been easy. Not to mention I broke up with my girlfriend and she keeps spreading rumors about me being gay....I got beat up at school." He knew that Kali already saw into his mind once before and probably saw everything he is saying, but he figured she would understand that for him it is easier to say than think. He was really excited to get to know what powers he had yet to unlock. It made him wonder jsut how powerful he was. He presumed hismelf to be a basic witch with nothing extraordinary abotu himself.

Damien smirked staying between her legs. "Oh that sounds like something kinky we can try next time." Damien was all about trying new things in bed. Now he was going to be a father he presumed it meant he would have to settle down now. Variel was the only woman he would sleep with now and she would sleep in his bed with him every night. "Yeah...I am thinking about going to Spirits. Get a few drinks and party hard. You may be pregnant but you can still drink for at least tonight after that I'm not letting you drink anything else." He said a bit harshly like he was her father or something.

I'd like to take advantage of the one that is fine with it to actually have a friend." Kali smiled slowly, "I would love to have your company. I can easily figure out transportation, and I can talk to Damien. I should warn you though... As little as I control he mind reading, I have even less control over the visions. They're completely random, and they're not pretty. Lots of blood, pain, my heart stops, you know. So sometimes they hit in the middle of the day, other times I wake up to one. You should be aware." She advised, chewing lightly on her lower lip.
"Oh I can take care of that beating up stuff if you'd like. I think Variel already took care of most of it, but I... Well, your brother and Variel are aggressive about their vengeance and very emotional about it. Me? I take my time. Instead of physical attacks... I can just slowly drive them mad. I can't control minds but I can influence them. After all, when you sit in class and stare out the window with your mind wandering, that's day dreaming. And then the mind is blank enough for me to put some images and thoughts in there." She smiled a bit wickedly.
She fell silent for a moment, then suddenly randomly blurted out, "Desiree. My middle name, that is. I figure since I already know everything about you, which I am sorry about, I just can't really control it, you should know something about me. And that's the first thing that popped into my head that isn't common knowledge." She shrugged. "If you want to know something else, just ask. It's only fair, I think."

"Well I've been limiting myself for a long while. Might as well have one last hurrah before stopping. It shouldn't be too hard now, since I have actual motivation besides myself." Salem frowned, "Um, I'd rather deal with the bullying myself, thanks. I'm a bit mad now knowing that Variel tried handling it. I guess I'm going to confront them myself without magic." He was really happy to know he had someone now to count on and it wasn't someone with a temper. "Um...That's cool...I do have one question...You know my deepest darkest secret about killing...What's yours?" He asked curiously. He figured she would say she didn't feel like talking about it and that was fine it was jsut worth a shot for him.

Damien smirked as they kissed and between breaths, "I think...We will...drive.....back to....the house....get dressed...." He couldn't keep tlaking as he pushed deeper into her lips loving the taste of this morning's fun still on them. A mix of hismelf and her tasing perfect together. He rubbed her thighs gently keeping himself pressed tightly agianst ehr. It was obviously arousing him givne that gym shorts were hard to conceal much of anything. You just got shocked back to life. It's completely natural for her to go after him. Be proud she didn't kill him." Kali advised, her steps slowing. She sat onto a wooden bench by the sidewalk, looking up at the sky.
"My deepest darkest secret... There's two, actually. When I was younger... Well, my parents were part of this really bigoted coven. Not being a witch was the worst thing that could happen to you. I was terrified that I wouldn't be one. But I still had to go to school and stuff. I had this friend named Lacey, she was really quiet and shy, but the sweetest person you've ever met. One day in the locker room she handed me her hair brush, and..." She shuddered, "I saw horrible things. I was young, maybe 12ish. And when I picked up her brush I could see her step father brushing her hair before pushing her onto the bed and..." She trailed off, shaking her head sharply. "No one in the coven believed me. Psychometry isn't common, and my parents thought I was just desperate to be a witch. Before I could do anything, it was all over the news. Lacey had killed herself, and in the note... Well, I was right. I knew what was happening, but I couldn't save her.." The seer was quiet for a moment before starting again. "The other one is short and sweet. My parents turned out to be wraiths and... You know that deal Damien has, sacrifice the first born? They weren't as any where near as hesitant about it as Damien is. They tried to sacrifice me and would have, if Eric hadn't Seen it."

"We should probably tell Kali and Salem we're leaving and where we're going. He'll need a ride to the house, unless he wants to hang out here and Kali can drop him off later. Or they could come with." Variel shrugged, smiling against him happily.

((ok))

Damien rolled hsi eyes, "I told them we might be leaving to the club. It isn't like there are many here if they need us. Besides she is the Seer, doubt she can miss us." He rolled his eyes as he pulled back, "Come on. Salem can make his way home when he feels likeit. the kid might be gay, but he is resourceful." He joked. He walked back intot he guest room they were staying in and grabbed the keys and his cigs. He pulled on his shirt and grabbed his underwear. "I want to take a shower. I smell like hot sex." He said walking out the door figuring it alright to leave it unlocked as Kali walked out not really having any signn of showing her key. I haven't got all day, Variel...I want ot have some fun and then even more fun when we get back." He smirked playfully holding the door open for her.

Salem nodded, "So if it wasn't for the last Seer you would be in Hell right now, huh? What bout that girls parents? Did they go to jail for what they did?" Salem was simply curious. It didn't affect him so he had no real emotional attachment to the issue, but he understood that for it to be Kali's darkest secrets it meant a lot to her. He was standing in front of her for some odd reason he felt somewhat protective of her. It felt like how he was with Erin. She was always getting into a mess and he felt like he was the one who had to fix it and keep her safe. He heard a car starting a few houses down presuming it to be Damien and Variel. "So I guess I can break the news to him tomorrow?" He asked quick on changing subjects with ADD. So much of nothing ran through his mind every second and it seemed ordinary for him to constantly bounce aorund that is what made it so easy for him to forget his past until recently he had forgotten it entirely.

In the temporary room she snagged her jacket and shirt, throwing the jacket on and zipping it up and draping the shirt over her bag. She bounced after him out the door, pausing to kiss him. "I'm always up for some fun." She grinned.

"Yeah. Yeah I would be." Kali laughed slightly, running a hand through her black and white hair to pull it back from her face. Her fingers caught in the tangles and she hissed slightly in pain, pausing to pull out the knots. "No. They never did. There wasn't enough proof. It was obvious it was a suicide, and they didn't have any evidence besides Lacey's note. Which wasn't enough." She snarled bitterly, though it was blatantly obvious non of the emotion was aimed at him. It still bothered her. This girl had died because Kali hadn't helped her, and then she couldn't even get the direct cause in jail. She let out a deep sigh, closing her eyes for a brief moment. "Yeah, I can tell him tomorrow." She said in a voice much closer to her usual cheerful tone as she looked back up at him. "I have the number."

End Scene for Damien and Variel
Went to Spirits Club and Bar
((You post first.))
Damien and Variel drove to their house, showered. and got dressed before heading to the club.

Salem was grateful for Kali. He never thought he would be able to open up to someone so well who already knew him perfectly well down to the -T-. He let out a breath of air as he watched Damien and Vari pull out and drive toward the house. He sighed for a moment. "So I guess we should head back. I doubt any of your specialist are out and about this late, huh?" Deep down Salem wanted to practice alone, but he knew Kali could read sucha thought and presumed she came out with him to ensure eh didn't do something stupid. He needed a way to get out all of hsi frustrations and nothing was working. He wante dto master one of hsi pwoers fully before his Ascension. He was so frustrated that he was nothing like Damien. Damien, who mastered over ahlf of his abilities before his own ascension. Damien who rose through the ranks of hierarchy above all others. Damien who was elected to take on the Seven Trials of Hecate. Damien who had so much going for him and only had time to let important issues bother him, yet hold hsi composure.

She rose to her feet to stand in front of him, then shifted forward to hug him tightly. "Stop it. Comparing yourself to other people won't help. You are you, and no one else." She released him and stepped back, her hands resting on his shoulders still. Very lightly she kissed his cheek, perfectly sweet and chaste. She wasn't into him, but she cared about him. Again, in a completely chaste, almost sisterly way. After all, he was going to stay with her a while. He reminded her of her brother a bit. Both Deva and Salem compared themselves to their family and felt inadequate because of that. "I know Reyna is up, she's memory. I have wind. There's also someone I'd like you to meet. She is very, very good at just general fighting stuff. I think that'd help you channel some of that frustration as well as working on your powers will." she said thoughtfully. She glanced over as a large German Shepard ran up, and Kali began to laugh. "Speak of the devil. Salem, Max. Max, Salem. She's the fighter one I just mentioned." she explained as the big dog stood aloof a couple feet away from them.

Salem smiled a bit uneasily having no chance to reply to Kali's outburst against his thoughts. He didn't know exactly what to say to a dog. He knew they were good police dogs, but what could it do apart from teach him how to bite, claw, and sniff for drugs? Well the drugs bit could come in handy if someone tries switching his Aleve again..."Um, nice to meet you, Max...I'm not sure what else to say to a dog." He was sure there was mroe to this dog than meets the eye. IT had an almsot human look in it's eyes and it comforted him a bit. However, he did feel wierd standing in the middle of plain view of others talking to a dog. "I'm not sure how this is going to help Kali."

KT (queenlykt) | 1346 comments "She's much more fun in the daytime, I assure you." Kali chuckled as the dog bared its teeth at Salem. "Max is a SleepWalker. So if you want... Well, Max was in the military. If you want to learn to defend yourself and have an outlet, Max is your girl. Again, in the daytime." She smiled cheerfully. Max snarled, and Kali raised an eyebrow. "You're going to help because Salem hasn't done anything. He is an innocent, and didn't you make a promise to protect innocents?" She reminded the SleepWalker, who growled lowly but this time without any meaning behind it. With her omnilingualism Kali had simply translated the first snarl. This growl had no words behind it n

Salem nodded, "That would be great, but she doesn't sound up to the challenge. I mean I'm a skinny guy with hardly any muscle anywhere but my abs. He explained feeling down on himself again. It's not like I can karate chop someone and actually cause real damage. Not to mention I have never met a Sleepwalker up close. Damien ahs always told me to avoid them because they are unruly and unpredictable. He said a Sleepwalker only gains it's mortal soul back after it has become a Familiar otherwise they can never feel emotion." Salem didn't fully beleive Damien's words, but he knew to obey Damien otherwise the guy became a bit harsh. He wanted to pet the dog deep down, but something told him that Max may bite. Damien's words seemed to stick hard in his head making him somewhat believe that Sleepwalkers were no better than common animals until they became Familiars. But then again Vari enver seemed like she would ever be like that even before he met her he oculdn't picture her any more animalistic than what she was already.

KT (queenlykt) | 1346 comments Kali started laughing cheerfully. "Not up to the challenge? Oh Salem. Let me tell you something about Max." She grinned, looking down at Max, who was eyeing Salem warily. "When I say Max was in the military... That's a bit of an understatement. She was in Delta Force. One of the youngest and so far the only female to have been in there. She is definitely good enough to be up to the challenge. And if it helps? I can definitely feel she has a soul. And emotions. Also, she never did anything to get cursed. You know how most do something, even Variel did. She made a witch heal her friend with a lot of violence and threats on her part, and then the other witches came for her. If you were curious. But Max? All she did was her job. Her team was captured. And one by one, they started to be cursed by the witches there." She explained with a smile, sitting back on the bench.
