Try The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. It's a very well-woven story. It's not YA, but I really liked Stephen King's Firestarter.

Black Ice- Becca Fitzpatrick
The Turning - Francine Prose
Crave- Melissa Darnell
Bad Girls Don't Die
White Hot Kiss
I have not read them yet but Jennifer L. Armentrout has one or two, (if not more) Paranormal young adult series. I have read her new adult books that she writes as J. Lynn. She is one of my favorite authors in the past few years. Her most well known is Lux Series, I think.Jennifer L Armentrout Obsidian
You can try James Patterson or Rick Riordan. Also the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyers is very enthralling. If you're looking for something that is like teen girls and cat-fights the Clique series by Lisi Harrison is good as well. Good Luck! =^.^= P.S. I would like to appologize for my inconsistency in grammar and punctuation
One of my favorite book series is The Mortal Instruments it is a six book series and if you haven't read it you haven't lived
Oh man, how could I forget James Patterson!! His Maximum Ride series is great! They also did it in a graphic novel. The Angel Experiment
I think that you should try reading Scott Westerfeld's Uglies if you haven't already. I thought it was really good
If you finish reading The Mortal Instruments then their is a side series called The Infernal Devices that has the same shadow hunter idea but it is in the past
You can try Cinder, Witch and Wizard, or if you like happy or little kiddish books the Penderwicks would be a nice little series.

Red Rising is one of my favorites. I highly suggest it."It's edgy. Very edgy. It's intriguing. Very intriguing. There's a sequel already as well - not as good overall as this, but there were some parts that were way better! (edgy & intriguing)
GOOD LUCK

Maybe give Brandon Sanderson a shot. For sic-fi fantasy, he's the most underrated out there. Start with something small like THE EMPEROR'S SOUL...it's pretty much legit!
Go watch Booktube video's.Booktube is a community on youtube, just people who like to read. It gave me lots of new ideas to read and it's funny to. Maybe you can watch 'polandbananasbooks' or 'katytastic'

The spook's series (Also called 'the wardstone chronicles') by Joseph Delaney is a mixture of mystery, fantasy and horror trilogy. I think it contains thirteen books and about two or three extra books with tales about the same world. This series also has also a successor. It's called 'the starblade chronicles'. Joseph is still writing the second book...
A good one I just read is Alexandra Brent's Tap Out - she's a new author (I'm always on the lookout as I'm relatively new) and I enjoyed the edgy parts.
My newest YA book (light sci-fi/romance) will be released 8/3 and I'm currently looking for folks to read/review an ARC. If you're interested, let me know and I can send you a copy! Pangalax: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
Actually you may try to read the Cuckoo's calling and the silkworm.. its a good book for investigative and mystery
Something that gave me a similar dystopian feel as the Divergent series was the Delirium Series. I felt I enjoyed them both in an oddly similar kind of way :P Check it out (:
Unwind by Neal Shusterman is honestly the best YA novel I have ever read. I'd highly recommend the 3 sequels, UnWholly, UnSouled, and UnDivided as well.I also suggest The Maze Runner series. With the second book being adapted to the big screen this September, now would be the perfect time to start on the series. The first book is The Maze Runner, the second is The Scorch Trials, and the third is The Death Cure.
I hope you find some good books to read.
A great YA series is the "Viral" series by Kathy Reichs and Brendan Reichs. The Books are:
Virals
Seizure
Code
Exposure
Terminal
There are also a couple of ebook novellas as well.
If you love Divergent I would completely recommend the Ugliesw series by Scott Westerfeld. It is a series of four..Uglies, Pretties, Specials, and Extras. Of course in the middle of the series it drags on a tad, but you need to complete until the end because the series ending is great! :)
If you enjoy adventure, fantasy, and mystery, you absolutely have to read Fallen Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes and Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas!!
Of TritonUnder the Never Sky
The Iron King
Eve
Partials
Starcrossed
Birthmarked
The Selection
Matched
Delirium
Shatter Me
I would definitely recommend The Chaos Walking Trilogy by Patrick Ness - The Knife of Never Letting Go, The Ask and The Answer, Monsters of Men. Uglies by Scott Westerfeld was a good book, so was Pretties.
Wither by Lauren Destefano was good, Fever wasn't so good but oh well.
I loved I'll Be There by Holly Goldberg Sloan.
I like Ally Carter books, I would recommend those too.
I loved Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley,
Slated by Teri Terry - very good book, first book of a trilogy and I think it might be a movie soon so read the books before they get too in demand haha.
I have been told many a time that I should read Gone by Michael Grant, I haven't read it though so I can't definitely recommend it.
I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore is a good series as well.
The Ingo series by Helen Dunmore, I remember I enjoyed reading those a lot.
Poppy Fields Mysteries by Tanya Landman are good short murder mysteries if you like that kind of thing.
I really enjoyed reading Warrior Cats by Erin Hunter when I was younger.
Rooftoppers by Katherine Rundell, My Sister Lives On The Mantelpiece by Annabel Pitcher, The London Eye Mystery by Siobhan Dowd. Alex Rider by Anthony Horowitz, and also Diamond Brothers by Anthony Horowitz. Wonder by R J Palacio
Hope this helps :)(haha sorry I didn't intend to bombard you with book titles and authors, I just get carried away when recommending books)
I don't read a lot of YA but House of the Scorpion was one of the best books I've read.
I think that you would like the darkest powers series from Kelly Armstrong. the first book is 'The summoning', the second book is 'the awakening', and the third is 'the reckoning'. hope u enjoy them!
My favorite books are the Vampire Academy ones by Richelle Mead. 1) Vampire Academy
2) Frostbite
3) Shadow Kiss
4) Blood Promise
5) Spirit Bound
6) Last Sacrifice
I also loved the Selection series by Kiera Cass.
1) The Selection
2) The Elite
3) The One
4) The Heir
And there's more coming out in that series. I hope you find a good book, it's always really hard to find one that you fall in love with. Good Luck!
