S.H.I.E.L.D Academy & Headquarters discussion

Vivian lead Cadence down to the chemistry lab where she knew Danny was working now. I just hope it isn't a mess in there, or that he hasn't blown himself up. She thought to herself, knowing how Danny could sometimes go crazy in the lab. They rounded the corner and she went to open the door. Suddenly, a loud bang went off in the lab. Vivian quickly opened the door, only for her and Cadence to be met with a cloud of smoke.

"Adaire! Danny! Are you ok?!" She yelled out as they walked in, the smoke slowly fading away.

Danny popped his head up from behind a table, smiling widely. He stood up and removed his safety goggles. "Ah, hello there ladies! Did ya hear that? Absolutely fantastic explosion!" He smoothed his hair back. "Now, Viv, how did my arrow work out?"

Vivian handed him the arrow. "Perfect. The four prongs stuck out from the arrowhead, and it drilled itself into it's target." She said. "I may need more of those arrows." As she said this, Danny smiled and pointed to four similar arrows.

"All ready for you to use, Vivian. And I see you brought the Assistant Director with you. What can I do for you today, ma'am?" Danny asked.

Cadence smiled at Danny's eagerness. "I see we haven't met for more than a few minutes before. Please, call me Cadence. Or Lake, if you must." She tried to make the agents as comfortable as possible, and some of them just didn't feel right calling her by her first name.

"Vivian said you might be interested in helping me out, if you're not otherwise occupied with inventions." Cadence leaned slightly against the table, the corner of her mouth tilting up. "Then again, this would take precedence over anything else you're working on. But if you're busy, I could use a suggestion for another Tech agent." She cleared her throat lightly. The smell of smoke still lingered.

"It's true; I've only met with you once, and that was with a whole group of other weapon technicians. But it is wonderful to meet with you again." Danny said. "Cadence, a beautiful name for a woman who is just as lovely!" He smiled at her as he shook her hand. Vivian watched and then rolled her eyes. Here we go... She thought as Danny started to be his usual flirty self.

Danny looked to Vivian, then back to Cadence. "Oh, I'm not that busy. Just tryin new things, but nothing too important. Besides, I need to wait and make sure all of this smoke has left. So of course I'll help you out, madam. Just tell ol' Dan what ya need."

Cadence smirked. Danny would definitely not be considered old. In fact, he looked younger than her. "Well, it's a fairly long story, but I'm putting together a team of agents to go after a man with super strength that appeared on our radar. Or Youtube. You may have seen the video." She handed him the hologram device.

"We'll be heading out as soon as we get the all clear from Director Ross. That is, if you're on board," she added, lifting an eyebrow. "You come highly recommended from Vivian."

Danny took the hologram device. "Yes, I've seen this video already. And I had a hunch you might go after him. He's basically stopping and wreaking cars, endangering others around him. So we're going in there to stop him." Danny said, handing Cadence the device back. "Of course I'm on board! Need to get out of the lab some, I say." He said, giving Cadence a quick wink.

Vivian laughed some, and Danny looked at her. "What?" He asked her. Vivian looked at him. "I just find it funny that you actually want to leave the lab." She said, arching an eyebrow.

Danny crossed his arms. "I don't live in here you know. I leave when I need to. Especially when there's something interesting. Now, is it just us three going, or are any others coming along?" He asked Cadence.

Cadence grinned. She had a feeling that Danny would be a valuable asset. Whether or not his tech skills came in handy, his humor and drive would help keep the group motivated. "More than just us," she said. She checked her list.

"I still need a mutants Specialist, a doctor, and two more operations agents." She mentally marked off one operation agent and the Tech agent. She tapped the table thoughtfully. "I think I'm going to pull Agent Mason off of another team..." She was thinking out loud.

(We'll probably have to make up names for the other agents, or we could create them. :) )

Vivian thought for a moment and then nodded. "I think that could be good idea. I've worked with her in training and seen some of her work in the field. She's young, but is a good agent and has really progressed in the past year. I think she would work well on this case." Vivian said. She looked over to Danny, who had turned back to one of the tables. Turning back around, Danny tossed her two of the new arrows.

"Here Viv," he said," these could come in handy. I know you tested it out already, but they do need a field run too. Oh, and you might need these." Danny pulled out her tranquilizer arrows.

Vivian shook her head, walked over, and grabbed the arrows. "How did you get into my room?"

Danny smiled. "I have my ways. And I just put the new tranquilizing tips on them, is all."

Cadence smiled. "I leave you to it. I'm going to go find Maybell. If you guys could think up a mutants specialist, a doctor, and another operations agent, I'd really appreciate it. Just make sure they're experienced, and I'll approve them. We'll rendezvous in the meeting room in twenty minutes."

She moved towards the door and paused. She smiled at Danny. "Nice to meet you, Danny. I hope you're as good an agent as you are a flirt." She hurried out, hiding a grin.
