I am really liking this book. The story resonates with me in many weird ways.....It is way more literary than I expected, and I like the way she compares their lives to the lives of characters in many books, and in a way that you understand, even if you haven't read the book. Like, we've all read Proust, right?
Hahaha on that protesting student, an English major, no less. I think it is obvious she was goofing around, didn't do the work, and missed the drop date. So now is claiming Trigger Trauma.
I really wanted to hate this book to be honest. But it was way too good to hate. Don't read the last half in public though. I'm pretty sure I blushed when I was finishing it on my shift last Thursday. Luckily no one noticed.
I meant to post this much sooner, but here's a 5-minute video on Bechdel's illustrating process for Fun Home:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cumLU...

Also, I came across this article on the interwebs yesterday: http://boingboing.net/2015/06/14/coll... Apparently this student wants to ban graphic novels from her college because she 'expected batman and robin, not pornography'.
Can't wait for this discussion.
