MNLO wrote: "Maybe we can have a look at books that aren't originally in English, but translated? Could open up for Asian/European/South American/African authors and so on."Absolutely! We've done a few translated works and I've enjoyed all of them. I've been really into Nordic Noir this year, like I Remember You - the scariest book I've read in a long time.
Have we already done Crime & Punishment? What about Anna Karenina or Candide? I believe those are all translated.
If step away from translated texts, I already mentioned Crazy Rich Asians in another thread topic and I'd like to add The Girl on the Train to the mix.

If it's a translated book I would suggest the short novel Pedro Páramo by mexican author Juan Rulfo.
How about Rayuela by Argentinian author Julio Cortázar? the title in English is Hopscotch. I've never read it but everyone says wonderful things about it and it has a cool structure: you can read it like a normal book or do kind of a 'choose your own adventure' thing skipping chapters as indicated.
what about Let the Right One In? has that been read here before? I feel like ONTDers would love that book.Edit: whoops, i just checked and i guess we did.
I just read Blood of Elves by Andrzej Sapkowski, which is one of the books that The Witcher video games are based off of. It was written in Polish originally. The first one is a collection of short stories called The Last Wish. I guess Sapkowski is basically Poland's George RR Martin. I haven't read The Last Wish because the big trilogy starts with Blood of Elves, but the short stories should still be fun. I love Geralt, the main character.
oops! I'm mostly a lurker in the book club, but what about doctor zhivago or the master and margarita if we are looking at translated into English
Can I nominate two books? I'd like to nominate the book I suggested last month, Exactly Where They'd Fall, and another one, How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents.
So... 'The Girl on the Train' won.I feel like a lot of people have already read it. But apparently not.

I know we ended up with quite a great list and an active poll last month! Feel free to nominate books that were previously nominated, too. (I looking at you Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell.)
