What are your favorite authors and what book did you read when discovering the author?

One of my favorite authors is Justin Cronin and I was reading The Passage when I discovered him =)

My favourite authors are Mike A. Lancaster and Adam Gidwitz.

I found them out by one of my friends.

I really like Maeve Binchy, James Patterson, Brian Jacques, Diana Gabaldon, and Danielle Steel.

I have read a few books by Maeve Binchy. I find them relaxing reads, with characters I can relate to.
Since joining goodreads I have learned about so many great books and authors that my to- read list never seems to get any shorter, no matter how much I read.
