Nancy walked in and looked around. "Is this the English classroom?" She asked.

Ms. Smith sat at her desk, getting ready for her first class. Oh dear, where did I put that tape dispenser? She thought. "Yes, it is." She said as she looked at the new girl. "You may have a seat, the bell will ring shortly and class will begin."

Alex came in after her. "Thanks for leaving me Nanc." He said sitting down next to her and pulled out his computer and note book.

"Sorry." She said. "I thought you were right behind me!" She said. She put down her bag and pulled out a small notebook, along with a new computer her parents gave her.


Ms. Smith eyed to two newcomers and continued working. She found the tape dispenser and put it on her desk. The bell rang, and students came in. "Hello class, I am Ms. Smith, and some of you know. Today we will be working on reading a play by Shakespeare, and then we shall right a report." She said, handing out copies of the play. (blah blah blah)

Alex sighed he hated Shakespeare and he had no intrist in doing it. But it was a grade so he had to. He opened his computer and singed in, then opend his note book and took a pen out of his back pack.

Laura entered the classroom, her long hair flying behind her. She stopped, looked at the class, took a step back, knocked on the door and mouthed 'sorry' before heading towards a seat.

Austin looked at the girl who just walked in and waved at her.

Ms. Smith looked at the class. "Now, please look at (Blah blah blah, important stuff, bear with me people.)" She said, walking around the room. She walked over to her desk and wrote a little note-to-self, and looked at the class. "Please read page 5 through 50, then begin writing your report. I would like them by the end of the week." She said, sitting at her desk.

Nancy sighed and began to read. Why did it have to be Shakespeare? She thought, her mind racing with all of the strange words used at that time.

Alex sighed again then opened his book. Then turned to Nancy. "Study buddy?" He asked her. He didnt want to do it alone.

Laura caught a slight motion to her right and waved at a student. A few words came through her hearing aid and she took out her text book. She sat beside Alex.
"Oh no, I've already finished this book. Oh well" She thought.

"Heck yah." She said with a smile. She continued to read, hoping it would get better.



Ms. Smith looked up. "Oh, and class, I forgot something. You are allowed to study with someone, but let me make something clear; when you turn in your essay, I expect them to be nothing below amazing, or we won't be able to do group studying." She said, hoping she wasn't being too harsh. "And, if you all manage to turn your essays in on time, we will have a pizza party."

((Who doesn't like pizza parties?!?))

"Awesome. Free food im in." Alex said out loud looking up at Ms Smith. He was really good at getting his stuff in on time.

Laura smiled in greeting and then her face turned blank.
"What did the teacher just say?" she asked and lifted her woolen hat to adjust her hearing aid.

"Um. We have a essay on Shakespeare do at the end of the week. And if everyone turns them in on tome we get free pizza." Alex told her.

Ms. Smith smiled and started to work on her next assignment for the class. These kids are very sweet.... I hope they make it. She thought, trying to think of a good assignment..


Nancy smiled at Laura, then turned to look at Alex. "I hope I can finish. Shakespeare's a really hard subject." She said with a slight smile.

"Yeah i really dont like it. I just dont understand how he writes so confusing." Alex said to her.

((It really is. My mom let me watch the plays to help me.))

"It is not in the stars we hold our destiny, but in ourselves" Sonata quoted. "I love Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet and Midsummer Nights Dream. He married Anne Hathaway, right?"
She smiled at Alex and Nancy. She started doodling at the edge of her paper.

Alexs jaw dropped. "Umm?" He said shocked.

"Do you think the teacher wouldn't mind if I added some quotes or some descriptions about his famous masterpieces?" Laura asked.

Nancy smiled. "I'll do anything except Shakespeare." She said, turning the page. She already knew this by heart; her mother read it to her when she was little. But she was a team player, so she was reading it, and acting like she hated it. She turned to Alex. "Of course its confusing! He wrote this in 1595!" She said with a smile.


Ms. Smith looked up and heard some people talking. "Quiet, please." She said before turning her attention to her work.

"Were we loud?" Laura asked. She turned towards the two girls and gave them a brief scan. "What year are you?" she whispered.

Alex laughed quietly. "5th." He whispered back.

"Same." She whispered.

He nodded and hes phone went off. His face blushed hopping he wouldn't get in trouble. It was in his bag and he forgot to turn it off.

"I'm 4th."Laura looked at Alex in a perfect poker-face. She gestured towards the bag. "Go on"

He reached into his bag and pulled out his phone it was Nat, he almost never calls he only text, so something had to be wrong. He looked up at Ms Smith. "Um Ms Smith, can i take this please?" He asked with a worried look.

Ms. Smith hesitated. "If it's that important, yes." She said. "But I must inform you, the next time this happens I will have to take your phone." She said with a frown, then continued with her work.


"Who is it?" Nancy asked, noticing Alex's worried expression.

"Its Nat i have to go take it he never calls he only texts." He said and walked out in to the hall.

"Ok." She said, then continued with her work. I hope everything's all right....

"Hey Nat whats up?" He asked once he was in the hall. "Okay buddy calm down.... im hear its fine.... i know but im at school too... do you teachers know your on the phone with me.... Okay Nat you have to go back.... Its not true bud..... okay yeah im here for how ever long you need me.... okay just talk..... its fine its only Shakespeare, i know his stuff already.... so talk to me.... calm down your okay." He said trying to calm down his brother. "Do you know where Sam is could you talk to her too?.... Okay"

Nancy continued to work, wondering what was taking so long.

"You fell better.... okay you back at school.... okay man.... no problem call me if you need anything again.... i love you.... okay bye." He hung up and walked back in. "Sorry it took so long." He said sitting back in his set.

"It's fine." She said before continuing with her reading.

Alex put his phone on silent then put in in his back pocket so he would know id Nat called back. Then he started his paper he knew the story already he just didnt like it.

Nancy looked over at Alex, wondering if she should ask what the call was. She looked back at her work, but she couldn't concentrate.

Alex looked at her. "You okay you seem like your in a different world." He whispered to her.

Nancy looked at Alex. "Yah, yah. I'm fine." She said with a small smile. "What was the call about?" She quietly asked.

"Nat kinda is having a bad day, he needed his big brother." He nodded.

"Ahh..." She said, then turned back to her work. UGH..... She thought. She couldn't concentrate. She looked at the clock and sighed. 30 more minutes.....

"You need some help?" He asked typing.

"Um, no...." She said, not wanting to admit that she couldn't concentrate. 15 minutes.....

He shrugged and his phone buzzed. He sighed and took it out of his pocket.

Ms. Smith looked up. "Alex..." She said, seeing his phone in his hand.

Nancy looked down, trying to concentrate.

"Sorry my brother is having a really bad day." He said looking up at her.

Ms. Smith narrowed her eyes then nodded. "Then I must ask you to take this outside of the classroom, Alex." She said before returning to her work.

Nancy sighed. TEN MINUTES......

"Its nothing hes fine." He said not wanting to get on her bad side and put his phone away. He looked at Nancy.

Nancy looked at Alex and smiled. Five minutes.....

Alex looked back at his computer and typed till the bell rang.
