Dr. Cottage's Cottage
"Thank you all for coming, I'm sure you're anxious for your animals to be back in tip top condition. I've made some promising leads in the cure for this vile plague but I need your help! There's a special bean that has been eaten by the Paper Civet, a small cat like creature. The stomach acid helps to break down the bean and releases the magical properties that can assist in my cure. I'll need quite a few and we don't have time to be nice about it. Bring me back 100 beans and I'm sure that I'll be able to cure something."
World Creature
A world creature is one that exists in a certain quantity in all the world. After you and your fellow adventurers have killed them all, they shall no longer exist.
• Paper Civet - A small cat like creature that likes to eat magical beans needed by Dr. Cottage. (World Population: 100, Each hero may kill up to 1 each day)
4 Attack 10 Health - Reward: 1 Experience, 1 Magic Bean for Dr. Cottage, 1 Bonus Experience for the first kill per hero per week.
Be sure to note which number civet you have killed in a post in Dr. Cottage's Cottage.
CURED!
You cough gently. "Is the treatment ready Dr. Cottage?"
Dr. Cottage stops and stares at you. "Of course not dear fellow. I still require a wide sampling of ingredients to try to balance the chemical equation to neutralize the toxin. Here's what I'm going to need...."
Dr. Cottage lists off a huge list of varied ingredients for his experiment.
Dr. Cottage is looking for a wide list of ingredients. You and your fellow heroes will have to find books starting with each letter of the alphabet to gather varied enough ingredients. Articles (The, An, A) may be ignored at the start of a title. Books must be fresh to be used (finished after Dr. Cottages announcement 6/24/15). Upon gathering all the letters, Dr. Cottage should be able to form a cure for an animal.
The first hero to post a book for a particular letter will gain 2 Experience. The letters J, K, Q, V, X, Y, Z will gain an additional Experience point. Each hero may only post one book every 2 days. Any duplicate letters do not count towards anything nor gain any experience. Books used for ingredients may not be used for other purposes.
CURED!
You assure Dr. Cottage that you'll put your most experienced knights on the case right away. Right before you head out the door, he whispers that you'll need 5 vials of ice breath.
World Creature
A world creature is one that exists in a certain quantity in all the world. After you and your fellow adventurers have killed them all, they shall no longer exist.
• Winter Dragon - (World Population: 5, Each hero may kill up to 1 each week)
15 Attack 50 Health - Reward: 25 Experience, 2 Major Heal Potions, 1 Vial of Ice Breath
Be sure to note which number winter dragon you have killed in a post in Dr. Cottage's Cottage.
CURED!
Each hero may donate 1 goblin bone or 1 bat wing each day for 1 experience. The first one submitted each week (starting Sunday) will gain an additional 1 experience.
Be sure to note which number bone or wing you are donating in a post in Dr. Cottage's Cottage.
CURED!
"My dear hero," Dr. Cottage states. "It's simple a turtle dove in the hand is worth two on the rock."
"But Dr. Cottage.... How do we get them into our hands when they're on the rock?"
"Well you can kill two turtle doves with one book, but only the right size book and we'll need at least 100."
You look at him curiously then decide to wander off in search of your own answer to Dr. Cottages own unique idioms.
Turtle Doves may be taken out by throwing books at them. A book with 100-300 pages will take out 1 turtle dove. A book with 301-500 pages will take out 2 turtle doves. A Book with 500+ pages will take out 3 turtle doves. Each hero may throw up to one book per day. Each Turtle Dove is worth 1 experience.
CURED!
Cures!
Cure 1
Dr. Cottage dances around his cottage singing "Beans beans the magical fruit, the more pure the more you cure!"
"The beans appear to be the perfect cure for the regions falcons. Never fear! The rest of your friends shall be on the mend in no time!"

Cure 2
Dr. Cottage pours a little aluminium into the beaker and shakes it. Bubbles start to appear. He taps a teaspoon of dried frog leg then adds a pickled maggot. The liquid turns a nauseating red color.
"This is it! I've tried it against the horse blood samples that I've taken and it clearly eliminates the mites from the blood! Good work heroes!"

Cure 3
"The rabbits must have been so sick because their mites were winter mites and the rabbit is a spring based creature. It makes complete sense!" Dr. Cottage furiously pours and measures and dribbles until a warm green concoction has been created. "Not even winter mites can resist the winters breath from a dragon."

Cure 4
"Ahhh, the bat wings and goblin bones were just what the local cats needed to be up and running again. I think it's boosting their internal predatory ability and fighting off the mites." Dr. Cottage hands you a nice pink potion filled with remnants of battles past.

Cure 5
"The final cure!" Dr. Cottage stands proudly in front of the assembled masses. "It's simple really, the turtle dove is such a curiosity that it re-curiousifies the squirrels and gets them up and moving. Then it's really just basic biochemistry and isotopic reactions that finish the rest."
A Special Thanks
Dr. Cottage wants to thank everyone who participated in the plague event.
"My friends! I'm so glad we were able to cure this plague. I couldn't have done it without the contributions of each of you. With some of the leftover parts you gathered, I managed to make a new potion that I think you will find helpful. I'd like to give a sample to anyone who helped with the plague effort."
• Duplication Potion - Allows duplication of one book currently held or in use by your hero. Books that have been sold now belong to the new owner and cannot be duplicated. Books that have been bought can be duplicated by the new owner. Duplicated books cannot be sold. Duplicated books may be used for the same quest or activity or used in a new one. Books that have already been applied to an activity or quest may be duplicated.

If you're going to lose major HP then leave the battles to those who can one shot these suckers. Under no circumstances should anyone waste precious heal potions.
It may take a few extra days to lift the plague, so spend that time leveling up your hero or weapons or completing quests to make you stronger for the next surprise down the line -- and you know there WILL be other surprises. :-)
I totally agree with Reva, don't waste healing potions. But If you have a 5-9 AP weapon, more than 5 HP and you do want to help,
kill 1 civet a week. That way you'll lose 4 HP, but get 2 XP for each of your battles.
Back at ya. :)BTW how do we treat the "1 Bonus Experience for the first kill per hero per week."? I mean how do we count the week? Thursday-Wednesday (the first civet was killed by Teresa on Thursday)? Or Monday to Sunday (the international standard for a week) or Sunday to Saturday (a week in US)? , or do we count it individually from your first kill whenever you did it?
Ack. Um.. I my head I was thinking Sunday to Saturday being a week since I started the other things like bunny eggs on a Sunday.
So even though I killed mine today, I could kill another on Sunday and get 2 xp? I don't need to wait the 7 days from my personal kill like the other creatures? Or am I reading that wrong?
Kelly wrote: "Ack. Um.. In my head I was thinking Sunday to Saturday being a week since I started the other things like bunny eggs on a Sunday."Thanks, Kelly. And yeah, Reva, an extra exp point doesn't hurt any. :)

Dr. Cottage has been called in to help with the recent plague outbreak. He plans to heal every horse, rabbit, falcon, cat and squirrel in the kingdom and get them back into tip top shape.
However, he needs help from YOU! Join forces with your fellow heroes to help Dr. Cottage find his cures.
Each successful completion of a request form Dr. Cottage will result in 1 animal being cured. Dr. Cottage is working frantically and therefore he must test any potential cures on all the animals and he won't know which one it helps until he tries it.
After the request has been completed a random number will be generated which indicates the cured animal type and a new request will be given shortly.
Please post here when completing requests and indicate which number you are completing to keep track of completion status. (i.e. increment from the previous poster).
Thank you for answering the call for help.
