In joining this review group you have agreed to review the novels assigned to you on a two month schedule. The sign up phase is over and the review stage is starting.

This is Fantasy Review Group 7, which will include all types of novels classified as fantasy. As with other review groups, you will be expected to read and give an honest review of the book assigned to you. Assignments will be made after the group sign-up has filled.

Participants are expected to post reviews to Goodreads. If the Goodreads review is positive (three stars or higher), the review should be posted to Amazon at the same star level, if the book is available there. This makes having accounts with both Goodreads and Amazon.com a requirement.

If a reviewer and the author agree that the review should not be posted to Goodreads due to quality issues, the reviewer is relieved of the requirement of posting the review. If this occurs in the first round, the second reviewer is relieved of the requirement to read and review the book. This is entirely at the discretion of the reviewer and is not intended in any way to manipulate the rating of any book.

Contact the authors you are scheduled to review to arrange to receive a review copy of their work.

Please post to this topic, both when you receive review copies and when you post the reviews.

If you are going to be late with your review, either post to this topic as soon as possible or message the author and the moderator.

If your book has not been reviewed by the deadline for either round, contact the review group moderator. This is necessary to make certain that the review process is fair for everyone.

THE AUTHORS AND BOOKS ARE:

Robby Charters (robbycharters) | 204 comments I'd like to enter The Story of Saint Catrick, www.goodreads.com/book/show/7846469-t...

It's a fantasy only in that it's an animal story - no magic apart from animals talking, wearing victorian style clothes and drinking tea from teacups.

Warning label: It does have a message, though it's one which I don't think too many people on Goodreads will take offence to, about ethnic reconciliation.

Author Tim Stead is my first reviewer and he isn't accepting any direct messages through his profile here. How can we communicate in order for him to receive a review copy of my book?

Goodreads has changed how author pages are formatted. Next to the "Follow Author" button is a gray down arrow. Click on the down arrow and a menu will be displayed. The second option on the menu is "Send message".

You haven't answered my messages about receiving a copy of your book for review.

Since Yannis has bowed out, I will rework the order of review for the second round of reviews. If you have started on reviewing the second round, hold off until I have completed the rescheduling.

Tim Stead (timstead) | 22 comments Now I don't have a first book to review!

message 27: by Susanne (new)

Susanne Leist (susanneleist) | 71 comments Tim and I could review each others' books.

message 28: by Robby (new)

Robby Charters (robbycharters) | 204 comments Since Yannis was supposed to review A.N. Sinner's book on the first round, perhaps Tim could do it instead. I'm sure this is quite awkward if Tim is already half way through Yannis'

message 29: by Tim (new)

Tim Stead (timstead) | 22 comments I don't mind whose book I review, but one idea of this arrangement is that we don't do mutual reviews, and A.N. has already reviewed mine. I vote we wait for R. to decide, and I'll be happy with whatever.

Robby Charters (robbycharters) | 204 comments Thank you, Tim.

Would you be so kind as to post it on Amazon UK as well? That would be www.amazon.co.uk/Story-Saint-Catrick-...

I appreciate the fact that this doesn't 100% fit into the fantasy genre. For my first book in this group I had to do a horror story -- not what I was hoping for, but -- ok. This genre is just too broad!

cheers

Natalie Grigson (natalie_grigson) | 3 comments Hello delightful reviewers,
How does one request or suggest a book to be reviewed? I've recently published a fantasy meets humor and I would love to somehow get it in here.

Let me know if you're taking suggestions and I can send you a link!

(Sorry if this post is in the wrong place - I've looked for a way to send this as a message to the moderator, but either my computer skills are even less impressive than I thought, or there isn't one).

Cheers,
Natalie
