General discussion of the entire book

Its been awhile since I've read this one, but I LOVED it! Also loved the sequel, have not read yet, but I want to soon!

Dana and I are very excited to read Grave Mercy. I mean she only voted for it to be my next readers choice read like 15 times :)

I've heard so many great things about Grave Mercy. I am planning to binge read the whole series in July!

Will the club read the entire series together? I am with Dana. If I read book 1 I want to read them back to back. :)

We can set up some discussions for the rest of the series. We've been in the talks of what to do with series books. And we've thought about marathon-ing the entirety of the series for those who want to join in.

Because I may end up reading them all as well. But you don't have to read the whole series :) So we will get some discussions up for the rest of the books in the series for those who want to marathon! :)

Sounds great! This is 1 of way too many series in my TBR pile so I am very excited that you guys picked this one to start with. I tend to wait quite often for a series to finish because I hate cliff hangers! lol

So excited to read this book! I have been meaning to get to it for a while! Now I can with people to talk about it! :D

THE SERIES REVIEW ON THE BLOG OH YEAH

I read this one awhile ago - I think I'm going to have to refresh - I always get this one and poison study by maria v snyder confused!

So, I'm slowly getting through this book. I don't know if it is the book or if I am just going through a slump, but I haven't really been reading anything a whole lot in the past week and a half... I really need to get out of this slump.

I'm only on like Chapter 8 of this book. :/

I am glad I am not the only one having problems moving along. I am on chapter 35 but not making the progress I usually make. By now I would normally be on book 3. :/

I'm sorry to hear that Shellee! I put it down for now. I'll probably pick it up after I finish Jesse's Girl. I have a blog tour post for tomorrow for that book, so that one has to take precedence.

But I hope it picks up the pace for you soon! Hopefully after Jesse's Girl, I'll be out of whatever slump I'm in!

I just have week 4 left! I think I hyped it up for myself. It is really slow, but I think the short chapters helps a lot! I put post its for each chunk so it made it easier to think about!

I'm reading it mostly on my kindle because the light bothers Joe while he's trying to sleep and with my kindle, i don't need the light. so I don't see how long it is by that. but I don't know what's wrong with me... I am determined to finish it though! It is only the 10th of July...

It does and it doesn't - the action picks up but it all seems to amount to not a lot?

Thanks! The pace reminds me of The Discovery of Witches trilogy which I did end up really liking in the end. I will keep at it though and am so curious as to how it will end up and where the series will go from here... Hopefully after your break you can get back into it and breeze through! :)

I have to agree - its slow but not at the same time - it had enough in it to keep me reading but wasn't quite punchy enough for me to read the second book in the series

So glad someone else felt this way. I've been deliberating whether or not to continue since I finished it!

I've heard book 2 is the best! I just finished and as a first book totally wasn't worth the hype. It was so slow, but the fact that the chapters were short and the mystery aspect kept me going. I will try Dark Triumph just because Sybella is a much more interesting character.

Me too. I started Dark Triumph and am liking it more than Grave Mercy so far. I am only at chapter 7 though....

haha, there are just so many good reviews on this book but it's SO slow for me! I've already read a couple other books to see if I was just in a slump. Nope. It's just this book...

I think it can be a bit hit and miss - you either dig it or you don't.
