I borrowed this from my aunt (who is a junior high English teacher) about a year ago and still haven't given it back! I loved Westerfeld's Uglies trilogy when I read it a few years ago (minus the overuse of the word "bubbly" in the second book) and still haven't read any else of his. Plus, I have never read anything of the steampunk genre. So it should be interesting?

Curious to know what you think of it, Jasmine. I actually liked this series more than "Uglies", but it's also has a completely different feel to it. I think the steampunk/alternate history genre is hit or miss for people - either you love it or you hate it. This was my first introduction to steampunk as well, but it put me in the "love it" group. :)Hope you enjoy it! I thought the whole trilogy was wonderful. :)
Finished! Not my favorite, unfortunately. I thought the storyline kind of dragged. And I wasn't completely sold on his characters, either. Kind of a cool world though. He may have spent a little too much time trying to develop it, however. In the end, the jury is still out on the steampunk genre, but I probably will stay away from it for a little while--at least for the time being. My "official" review here.
