Sootpaw bounded into the den, barely getting two paws in before Spiderpaw bowled her over onto her back, pinning her down like they used to do in the nursery a lot. "Get off of me!" she hissed, scrambling to escape from her small brother.
Spiderpaw yowled in victory as the she-cat hissed at him, and looked back at Pricklepaw with pride. "Got her!" he said, ignoring that it was obvious. "I think we should get the best beds." Releasing Sootpaw, the black tom looked around, and spotted the best beds clearly already taken up by the older apprentices. "Or second best?"

Pricklepaw purred loudly, enjoying the scene in front of her more than she probably should. "You're going to be the fiercest warrior in all the Clans," she smiled, flicking Spiderpaw's ear with her tail. She'd also noticed that the best beds were taken by the older apprentices, eyeing the other nests with distaste. "This isn't nearly as nice as the nursery," she muttered, moving the moss around with her paw.
"We all will," Spiderpaw mewed, nudging up some moss balls to try and make a fairly decent makeshift bed. "I'm going to sleep near the entrance, so I need more moss, because Deadfeather always wakes up early, remember?" Thinking on how often their father took on dawn patrols and early hunting patrols, he decided to push together his moss as best as possible. "I might be going to train earlier than you two."
Sootpaw scoffed, "That doesn't mean you need any more moss, dung-brain." Edging remnants of moss clumps into a circle, she nudged it with her nose to fill it in bit by bit.

"You'll be getting up at dawn everyday," Pricklepaw replied as she began scraping together her own pile of moss. She wasn't sure how Rowanheart was as a mentor, but she figured that him being deputy may make her training a little sporadic. I'll probably end up having to train with Sootpaw all the time, she thought glumly, letting out a sigh as she looked down at her sorry excuse for a nest. "Maybe we go out and find some extra moss, or maybe some feathers to make our nests more comfortable," she advised, her comment targeted at Spiderpaw.
"Exactly," mumbled Spiderpaw, curling up on his makeshift bed to test how comfortable it was. Not very, he realised with a sigh. "Yes - we should. Sootpaw, you should sleep. You were itching and moving all night long!" Out of care for his sister, Spiderpaw turned to her, and then looked at Pricklepaw, "Do we have to ask a warrior to go out?"
Pricklepaw's brow furrowed for a moment, not quite sure if they needed the permission or the attendance of a warrior in order to leave camp. "I think we should probably ask a warrior. I don't want to get into trouble on our first day," she mewed, rising to her paws, excited at the prospect of finally leaving the camp.
Sootpaw left with a grouch instead, but Spiderpaw simply ignored her - he was right, and after they were gone he was sure their sister would curl up for some sleep. "Let's find a warrior," he said to Pricklepaw, flicking his tail, "What about Rowanheart? He is your mentor, and Deadfeather is just as grouchy as Sootpaw."
"Rowanheart's probably off doing deputy stuff or something," Pricklepaw mused with an irritated flick of her tail. She loved that she had the deputy as her mentor, but she could already tell that she'd probably be getting trained mostly by other cats within the clan.
"Then.. We could always sneak out," Spiderpaw suggested with a glint in his eyes. "Stay by the camp. Just say that we were making dirt, and found some moss on the way," he suggested.
Pricklepaw hesitated, she'd never been one to break rules. But she was so excited to be outside the camp walls! "Okay, but just really quickly we'll go out there," she mewed, her nerves about breaking the rules beaten by her desire to see the forest.
"Let's go!" Spiderpaw nodded, and charged out of the apprentices' den, and slunk out of the camp to curl his tail around the edge, heading towards the dirtplace so that others would believe they were just going to make dirt.

((Okay! Meet you there!))
Pricklepaw took a deep breath, hesitating a moment for following her brother. As a kit, she'd never broken the rules. That job had always belonged to Spiderpaw and Sootpaw.

((Next morning)
Deadfeather pushed his head into the den, and nosed at Spiderpaw's sleeping head first, as he was closest to the entrance. Once his kin had been roused, he crept closer to brush his nose and press it to Pricklepaw's head, giving her a lick. "Patrol, Pricklepaw, Spiderpaw," he mewed, careful not to wake the other apprentices.

Pricklepaw let out a soft groan, not wanting to get up just yet. But you have to, she reminded herself, opening her eyes to look up at her father. "You're going on patrol too?" she softly asked, slowly getting up onto her paws.
"The three of us and Rowanheart," said Deadfeather, licking between her ears before he pulled out from within the den, returning to the camp clearing to wait for his kin.
Spiderpaw let out an exaggerated sigh, his mood soured from yesterday's failed attempt at cushioning their bedding. Rising to his paws, stretching the ache from his joints after having slept on the poor remnants of moss and grass, he looked to Pricklepaw, and sighed again, "They might teach us to hunt or fight later."

Pricklepaw watched as Deadfeather left, glad that he would be joining her on her first patrol. "I hope. Hunting would make more sense, then we could help the clan right away," she said, her drowsiness beginning to wear off as the excitement of the day became more and more real.
Spiderpaw nodded, stretching his jaws wide in a yawn, and flicked his tail at his littermate, "Let's go." Padding out of the apprentices' den, he briefly waited for her, and then continued on to meet with their mentors.

Hawkpaw stretched as he woke from his slumber, blinking to clear the sleep out of his eyes. His nest, broken up and messy from his frantic dreams, was pushed further away with his long stretch. He sat in the middle and yawned, looking to the other apprentices in the den.

Briarpaw turned in her sleep, trying to ignore the outside world to stay in the dreamworld she felt she belonged in. She laid her head on her paws and yawned, opening one eye to gaze around sleepily. She soon decided it would be better to wake up and start the day so it would be over sooner. Briarpaw stretched and silently groomed the bramble scraps from her coat in the wake of day.
Watching Briarpaw rise from her nest, Hawkpaw gazed at her with amber eyes, wondering what she was thinking. Then realised he had just woken too and his thoughts were occupied with wondering what she was wondering. Shaking his head to get rid of the confusing thoughts, he mewed, "You have some on your scruff."

Briarpaw glanced up at the tom, surprised to hear a voice so soon to waking up, she twisted to look at her back and awkwardly tried to groom her scruff, shortly after she had begun, she have up and stood to shake her pelt. She sat back down and looked at Hawkpaw again, she didn't really know what to say..."Good morning." She mewed as a reply. Was that alright to say? I'm always so awkward, I hope I grow out of that! Her nervousness dictated over her thoughts.
Hawkpaw stared at her, and then got to his paws and stepped over, swatting at her pelt to get rid of the bramble, catching it in the pads of his paw. "There," he mewed quietly, sitting back down. "Good morning, Briarpaw."

Briarpaw tilted her head in amusement"Thanks." She mewed as he got rid of the bramble on her scruff. She looked into his amber eyes with hers
"What are you doing today?" She murmured curiously, she honestly didn't know what her plans were, she hadn't spoken to Darkwillow about that yet, but it wasn't often that she spoke with someone her age.
"I'm not sure," Hawkpaw mewed, avoiding her eyes as she looked at him. "I want to hunt frogs again. That was fun," he added, perking up a little at the thought of getting to frog-pounce and catch plenty more frogs for the Clan. "What are you doing with Darkwillow?"

"Frogs are fun to hunt, I like fishing personally." Briarpaw mewed and looked at her paws as she heard the wind brush past the outside world"I haven't asked her yet." She admitted with a glance at the entrance of the den. She looked back at her paws and remembered her first time in the water, swimming, or.. Trying to at least, she was eager to get to the lake again.
Hawkpaw nodded, and then stared at her. "You can fish?" he questioned, trying to remember if Pinestream had mentioned anything about teaching him fishing. He hoped so. He wanted to try every hunting technique ever. "Maybe we can ask Pinestream and Darkwillow to take us hunting together?"

((Whoops! I don't know what I was thinking when I said fishing hahaha...))"Yeah, I kind of taught myself, I'm not very good though..." Briarpaw mewed and stretched her paws out in front of her, she looked back to Hawkpaw
"That would be nice." She mewed as a smile tugged at the corners of her mouth.
Someone really wants to talk to me? Wow maybe cats do like me... no, I'm sure not I'm so... Eek...
((Haha. No worries, I've done it before.))
Hawkpaw blinked, impressed. He wanted to excel at everything, whether taught by other cats or teaching himself, and found a new found respect in Briarpaw. "Let's go into the clearing and find them?" he suggested.

Briarpaw nodded and stood up, ready to walk to the entrance of the den, she waited for Hawkpaw to be ready before she went. The air in the clearing smelt so fresh, she was so close to escaping the musty den, still smelling of sleep. She couldn't wait for the wind in her fur and the smell of prey, but she was quite hungry, she would get something to eat before the day began properly.
((You post in the Clearing first :) I'll reply with Hawkpaw and Darkwillow.))
Hawkpaw bounded after Briarpaw, quite enthusiastic to go hunting with another cat. He was meant to be a little more social and less.. dependent, he supposed. That had to start with his Clanmates first. Breathing in the fresh air, he caught her scent and twitched his nose contently.
