Keeping the Clans Alive {An Advanced Warriors RP} discussion

Featherstar stretched in her den. She had had a dream that she was running through the fields in WindClan. She sprang to her paws. "A new day!" she cried aloud, and raced out to eat. She chose a fat rabbit and ate half of it before lying down in the sunshine.

Silentpaw looked up at his mentor and butted him in the shoulder. You showed them better, he thought. That Fairheart better not mess with us again! He looked back at his leader, wondering why she had blacked out after such a shallow cut. He watched as she opened one eye, then the other, looking at the toms. "Wh-what happened?" she whispered. "After th-the battle, I mean."

Featherstar looked at Moonpelt as she entered the den and tried to put cobwebs on her leg. She struggled to her feet. "I'm fine," she mewed. "Go to the other cats first-" she gasped; the pain was unbearable. She collapsed and watched the world around her go black.

Flamepaw rolled her blind eyes. Leaders. Always trying to do the right thing.... She began to spread out and chew up the herbs that Moonpelt would need, waiting for further instruction from her mentor.

Moonpelt sighed "Lay back down as of right now you're the one with the most serious injury." She checking the wound. When Featherstar collapsed she checked to make sure that her heart was still beating "Fur brained cat." She muttered under her breath "Flamepaw you grabbed Goldenrod right?" She asked not sure if she had asked Flamepas to grab some.

Flamepaw nodded quickly, pushing the golden flower over to her mentor. She'd brought both goldenrod and marigold, for she'd been unsure as to which one Moonpelt wanted.

Moonpelt first licked the blood surrounding the wound then she used the cobwebs that Flamepaw has brought to slow the bleeding. After removing the cobwebs she chewed the marigold into a poultice and spread it across the wound. She made a quick mental note to give Featherstar some juniper berries after she woke up to give the she-cat more strength. "She's in Sttarclan's paws now." She murmured before gathering the leftover herbs. "We must see how Stormpaw is doing." She said to Flamepaw exiting the leaders den.

Flamepaw nodded to her mentor, sniffing Featherstar's pelt once more. Something inside her told her that she would be alright, as she didn't smell the thick, acrid scent she'd smelled before Redclaw had died. She hated that scent, and was grateful it wasn't wafting around in this den. Shaking herself from her thoughts, she followed her mentor from the den.

Featherstar woke with a start, surprised that the den was empty. "Moonpelt? Flamepaw?" she mewed quietly, struggling to her feet. The pain lessened, but she couldn't walk.Fur-brain, she thought to herself. She collapsed back, landing hard on her shoulder, and let out a wordless cry as the pain rocketed up her leg.

Featherstar took a deep breath and sat down, tail wrapped around her paws. "The thing is... this isn't the first life I've lost." Moonpelt didn't know about Featherstar's first life- no one did. "I feel like if the Clan knows I've lost two lives and I've been leader for- what, four moons?- they won't believe in me." Featherstar sighed and looked down at her paws.

Moonpelt sighed as Featherstar told her about her lost life. Moonpelt had guessed that something had happened around that time but she hadn't known for sure until now what exactly had taken place. "It's alright Featherstar I understand why you kept it hidden cats aren't always forgiving." She said remembering how for moons even after Duskflight had apologized to her she never accepted her apology and let jealousy take over her emotions.

Featherstar nodded. "Should I tell the Clan? I've only been leader for nine moons. I haven't seen leaf-bare yet in the Clan. I don't want to worry them, of course, but I feel like I'm lying to them, not telling them." Featherstar was normally open, friendly, and relaxed, but she knew how past leaders had wasted their lives, and was incredibly paranoid about it.

Moonpelt didn't know what to do. Did she honestly have a right to give advice any more? She had killed her sister surely there was some other cat that Featherstar could talk to but, that would mean Moonpelt would have to tell Featherstar why she didn't want to talk and that most definitely would not be an option. She took a deep breath she could do this "I think you should tell them then." Moonpelt said finally "The guilt is going to consume you sooner or later so you should tell them." She said quietly.

Featherstar nodded. "You should go back to your patient. I'll call the Clan soon." She flicked her tail, worried. She didn't know if Moonpelt's advice was good, but a leader had to trust her medicine cat.

Moonpelt shifted from paw to paw, she knew Featherstar was right but she had a feeling her leader needed her more than her patient. "Flamepaw has it under control of its serious she'll come get me or she'll send someone else to get me." She said moving closer to sit by Featherstar "It's your choice but no matter what I'll stand by you." Moonpelt said

Featherstar nodded. "I'll tell them now," she said, padding out of the brushy clearing and standing on the Tallrock. She knew Moonpelt trusted her, and felt a glow of pride. I'm glad to lead this Clan, she thought.
