I love using this book for my AP Biology students. They read it during the summer and create a reading journal. I give them a rubric to get an average score. They are encouraged to be creative. They also often recall sections during the school year and comment. If you've read this book, how do you use it?

I am not an educator, so I only read this book for personal edification and enjoyment. I just wanted to compliment you for exposing your students to the world of interesting non-fiction. What a great tool for education. Academia shouldn't be confined to textbooks only!

This is such a great book, I think a must read for everyone. There is also a 3 episode version that Neil Shubin did for PBS that you may find useful with your classes. http://www.pbs.org/your-inner-fish/ab...
