Back in the '80s my friend had a number of paperbacks that were part of a supernatural series for teens. The name was something like "Dark Woods" and had a demon head above the words. I remember one book featured a cover that showed a girl looking into a mirror and seeing a skeleton. Sound familiar to anyone?

Very likely wasn't a fear street book because of the title but there were a lot of these in the 80s. Found this one with a skeleton image
Thanks! I should have actually mentioned that these books may have been from the '70/early '80s and looked a little darker in nature than what Stine and his peers did. The artwork style was somewhat reminiscent of adult romance offerings, actually, and appeared more menacing and less "glitzy" than later stuff like Fear Street.
Oh I see. Is it possible they were Gothics? With the time period those were popular and they were similar to dark adult romance styles. Not sure they would have been teen gothics, however.
Phil, is that the "Dark Forces" series - https://www.goodreads.com/series/8374... by authors such as Les Logan, Paul Alexander, and Rex Sparger?
