A girl with long brown hair walked into the armory. Just by looking at her, you could tell she was Aphrodite's child. Her sweet eyes, her pink lips, her perfect skin made her way to recognizable among everyone. However, she really didn't see how she looked like her mother. Heck, her mother seemed to be prettier than her. She was just an average teenager! Well, an average teenager that has to fight monsters all the time and has some powers.
She stepped up to where the swords were, being highly selective. She often used different swords to practice but she had a few she liked more than the rest. Her dark, brown eyes scanned until she came across the sword with the blue hilt.
A smile came over her face and she picked it up and looked over it. It was the same sword she had won her first match up against. She knew that she would use this one today. She stared at it for a moment before stabbing it into the ground so she had both of her hands to put up her hair.
Niko was up bright and early. Normally he'd sleep in till about afternoon time, but one of his brothers challenged him to a duel. Never one to back down from such a fight he found himself waking up earlier for a little practice. That wasn't to say he was doubting himself, but he liked to have a little warm up beforehand. Besides he'd probably only have half an hour before all his siblings rushed outside to watch. Yeah... They could certainly be a rambunctious crowd. At least he was confident enough to know he wouldn't lose. Approaching the armory room he opened the door before stopping dead in his tracks. A flicker of amusement passed over his face before he continued. "Careful how you handle that sword, Princess, it's not a tube of mascara." He said with a smirk. In no way was Niko sexist, but the features of the girl determined she was a child of Aphrodite. Not to say they couldn't fight either... It was just a rarity to see one of them in here. Getting their hands dirty definitely didn't seem to be on the top of their list of things to do which was often why they were weak links in capture the flag. Mommies little gift of charm speak couldn't exactly stop an attack from a whole hoard of Ares children.
Shaking his head he sighed. The sound held a tone of mockingness as he approached her. Niko saw how she set the weapon in the floor and he rose an eyebrow. "It's also not a decor piece either." He told her with a raised eyebrow before effortlessly pulling it from the floor. He spun it around with a simple flick of his wrist before placing it back on the wall where she'd found it. Maybe the move was a bit to show off, but how could he not? Aphrodites child or not she was good looking. Sauntering back over towards the other side of the room he gracefully ran his fingers along the daggers before slidding a few into the belt along his waist.
Claire turned around at the sound of his voice and particularly looked a little annoyed with his comment. "If I didn't know how to handle it, then why would I be here?" She retorted. Her voice, even though she wasn't using any charm speak was well, charming. "Or why would I even be interested in swords if you see me as a girl who loves her make-up and sounds like a vain brat?" She by this time pulled her hair to make a tight ponytail and then let her arms hang loose at her sides.
As she finally stopped herself from being sarcastic and a little annoyed, she was able to study his appearance. Then it hit her. Niko. He was the boy that was a really good fighter and was always on the winning team for Catch the Flag. He had quite a rep in Camp Half-Blood.Her siblings often swooned over him. She had to admit, he was cute but she would never say it out loud. She wasn't like her flirtatious sisters and she wasn't the type to flirt either. Besides, she wasn't going to flirt with someone who pushed her buttons either.
She forced a smile on her face but it was obviously fake. Heck, her annoyance was pretty clear to most. "Thank you for your wisdom but I know it is not a decor piece. I was just trying to have both of my hands so I could get my stupid hair out of the way." Claire reached for the sword and pulled it out again. "I am going to use this sword thank you very much."
Niko watched her face mold into one of annoyance and had to hold back his laugh. "That's a good question. Probably one you should ask yourself? Did you by chance hit your head before or after rolling out of bed this morning?" He asked, crossing one arm over his chest and propping his chin up with his other hand before giving her a concerned look. At her next comment he had to admit she had it spot on. That's what most of the camps perception was on the girls of that cabin, hell, even the boys there could be a little too into themselves. "You said it not me. I'll agree with vain... As for brat, well... You're starting to sound like one princess."
Not liking being studied he turned back to the opposite wall of weaponry for one of the spears. He already had his own waiting outside, but figured this conversation was getting much too interesting to leave now. Besides when would he have another chance to tease a girl? When he heard the distinctive sound of her removing the sword from the wall he turned back on his heels. A small tsk of disapproval left his lips. "Clearly we're going to have to keep that in the top shelf. Out of reach." Niko replied before walking back over towards her. "Do you even know how to hold it properly?" He asked with a raised eyebrow. If he was going to let her walk out of here with that thing he wanted to know she at least had the proper education. Everyone here had lessons in weaponry, but that didn't mean they cared to remember, or at times even show up.
((It's funny 'cause I can just picture Miles Teller saying all of this in his arrogant way))
Claire felt the blood underneath her skin boil. How could he be so, arrogant? She probably should have expected it coming out of a Ares child. He was probably getting sick pleasure watching her get angry with him. "No, my head is fine. I should be asking you the same question, shouldn't I?" She said with a smirk forming. She turned away as she looked back at the weapons, pulling out a knife from the shelf and putting it into her pocket. As he made the comment, she let out a laugh, her hair flipping to the side with her head. "I am not staring into a mirror now am I? As for being bratty, defense mechanism," she said quickly.
Claire saw his look of disapproval and held back a laugh. "Out of reach? Well it wouldn't matter much to me anyway," she said to him looking back at the sword. As he came closer she lifted the sword to his neck with her hand. "Hold it properly? Like I said, if I didn't know how to use anything here, why in the hell would I be here?" She pulled the sword away from his neck. "Now if you will excuse me, I have some practice to do and I don't want to loose anymore of my patience," she flashed a smile before turning on her heal to walk out of the armory.
((I know right? This is cracking me up. xD))
Niko saw the smirk form on her lips and wondered how it could possibly be there before shrugging his shoulders in a lazy dissmissive manner, "Mine is just fine as well. Haven't lost any of my marbles." He told her, knocking on his head as if to make a point. Most people were surprised doing so didn't make a hollow sound, but he did have a little something between his ears. Whether it or not it was a brain was questionable. As she reached for a knife he tried to hold back another sigh of annoyance. "What exactly are you planning to do with that? Have you girls given up an hair pulling and biting? Did one of your sisters steal you curling iron and your out for revenge?" The round of questions easily left his lips. Even when he knew it was best to shut up and leave a situation alone he lacked the capability of actually doing so. "Well, at least you know when you're being a brat. That's one of two." He told her with a slight grin of his own as he leaned back against the wall for a moment.
"See it wouldn't matter. That means you have no interest our use for weapons." Niko stated all knowingly. Having the sword held to his neck it took all of his will-power not to make another comment or swipe it from her hands. Coming from the Ares cabin this was a normal for him, but he wasn't so gentle when fighting. He didn't want to cut her pretty little face and then have something for her to cry about. "Excellent question." Rolling his eyes he watched as she left. Of course though he had to correct her in one thing. "Your grip on the handle needs to be a little higher so that it's easier to swing and balances your weight." He told her before grabbing one more dagger of the row from the wall and following her outside.
"Well good. I am so glad to hear that," she said with sarcasm in her voice. Knocking his head almost made her laugh. Almost. She heard his comment and rolled her eyes at him, her head turned away from him. "Knife throwing. Practice. Heard of it? Sure you have." She said quickly. Gods he was making her nuts. How could someone even have that capability to make her this crazy? She tried to ignore the thought.
"I have other swords I particularly like," she mumbled. She knew in the back of her mind he could probably had more strength than her nevertheless more fighting ability than her and he could probably swipe it from her or make some smart-alic comment. She was surprised when he didn't. She walked away and when she heard that, she stiffened slightly but she turned around to face him. "Thanks for the advice," she said to him. Her voice wasn't angry this time but actually thankful for the advice. But that didn't stop her from having a grudge, and annoyance, with him. Her head turned back around and she started walking towards the training grounds.
Niko grinned as he followed her outside, careful to close the doors to the armory before leaving completely. "Don't want anyone else wandering in here." He muttered under his breath. Just because he said so didn't mean it was likely to happen. Due to the ever wandering hands of the other half-bloods he was careful to keep his father's spear close to his side. Turning back around he wandered forwards a couple feet to find it leaning up against a tree. Adoringly he ran his hand over it before continuing forwards. "Have fun with those weapons, princess. Please don't hurt yourself, I don't want to have to bring you to the infirmary." Niko called out to her as he saw her just a few feet away. His eyes flickered to the side where he saw a kid giving him an odd look. Wondering what that was all about he raised an eyebrow in question before saying anything. "Don't worry she likes me." He told him with a nod which just earned him another strange look before the kid was off somewhere else. A litle confused he just continued forwards before settling himself about a certain area in the training grounds.
Claire's hair now glowed in the sun, her appearance a little more angel like as she continued walking towards the training grounds. Must be an Aphrodite kid thing... She laughed at him, "Name's Claire, not princess," she yelled to him. In the back of her mind, she thought he was interesting. But the other part of her hoped she never saw his face again. Gods she got on her nerves. He was like a leach that she was trying desperately to tear off. Maybe she would do better today training. His annoying comments were enough to make her skin crawl.
