Jay listened with his heart sinking with every word, his face sinking with him. The guilt over came him. He was silent for a long time before he stopped staring at his feet and finally looked up at her. He couldn't open his mouth to say anything for a long time and just stared at her. Finally he took a deep breath, almost choking on his words. "I never meant for you to get hurt. I thought you'd be safer." He looked down again wincing. "The day I left I thought I was protecting you. I loved you and I still do but I just thought that they wouldn't hurt you." Jay cleared his throat and finally talked clear enough to understand.

"I was in that gang. They knew I was a run away and they thought they could help me a get me to be like them. I was off doing my own thing for a while and that's how I met you. Those few times I had to go is because they wanted to know what was going on. They found out I wasn't with what they thought and they got angry after they found out I helped one of the people they jumped and almost killed. They knew I wasn't with them and they wanted to kill me. I left you thinking you would be safer without me. I didn't want them to find out about you and more monsters were after me. Now that I know you are a demigod, I am surprised they didn't catch onto your scent.

I fought more monsters off and they just got worse and worse and I seemed to drag more enemies into the mix. I finally took a train and the gang had happened to be on it as well. I don't know how they found me or how come they were on the train but I remember running again but I was caught. They grabbed me and started punching me. I felt like my stomach was going to fall out and they broke my jaw,
" as he said this, Jay winced remembering the pain. His body shaking a little. "I was thrown off the train and my head hit the train tracks before I tumbled into the water," he went silent for a moment before saying the dreaded words. "I did die. I swear there was no way I could have survived and I am sure that was why they told you I was dead. But after the brief moment of darkness, I woke up and all that I had was a headache. I have to thank my dad for that one. I think he was the one that saved my life.

Once I woke up, their was a monster not so far away. I had to get up and fight even though I was weak. The water also seemed to help me and I remember flicking my hand and a powerful beam of water slammed the monster and I had enough time to slay it. I wandered around for months. I mainly thought about you to be honest. I felt nothing but guilt and sadness. Occasionally there were those moments I felt happy but it was only because I had my mind on the little moments I had with you. I fought off monsters almost daily and I rarely slept. But a young man found me but at first I was ready to kill before he explained himself to me and I felt like the water was talking me and telling me it was okay. It was weird but I followed him
," he looked back up at her again.

"I loved you every day and I swear I will never leave you again. I can't believe I thought I was protecting you when all I did was get you into more hell. I still can't believe you would go through all the trouble to look for me," he said as his eyes got misty. "I thought for sure you would hate me." Jay closed his eyes and looked away. "You have full rights to hate me," he said, with pain in his voice.

Jay watched the view ahead of him, still upset with himself. He just felt like he was being eaten alive at this point. That he had screwed up everything but her voice broke his thoughts. As he stared into her eyes he felt comfort and almost felt like everything would be okay.

As she kissed him softly, he felt himself relax and almost fall into her kiss. As she pulled away and spoke, he felt shivers go up his spine, his heart beating a little quicker. A sweet smile crossed his lips with tears in his eyes as she said this.

"Azalea, that is exactly how I feel. You were the one to break down my walls and I now know what love is," he pulled her a little closer to him. "Now that I do, I swear that I will never let you go. Never again." He looked at her lovingly with his eyes much brighter and his guilt slowly messing away.

Jay knew that this time he would keep her by his side forever. Although in the back of his mind he wondered if they were safe, he was happy to be with her. He would protect her no matter the cost. He had her now and that was all that mattered.

When she saw her looking a little off from her dizzy spell, immediately he caught her. He panicked as well but then he tried to make a joke about it. "Oh Az, you sure know how to ruin a perfectly romantic moment." A large grin crossed his lips as he said this even though he was panicking inside.

A larger smile crossed his face as she asked this. "Well, maybe unless," he pulled her closer and looked deeper into her eyes and placed his head onto hers, "I can keep you for myself." He pulled his head back up so he wouldn't be so close that it was uncomfortable. He continued to have that same goofy grin on his face though.

"Hmm...well then...I guess you and I will blame the sun," he said with a chuckle. He watched her curiously and when she seemed to back out of something he raised an eyebrow. "Mental conversation?" Jay asked teasingly. As she pulled him into a longer kiss he couldn't help but want to laugh. This was like old times, when they were together and didn't seem to have a care in the world.

"Oh yes, I must admit, you have corrected the moment," he said with a smile. He leaned in next to her ear and whispered softly to her, "And that was a good kiss." He pulled back with his eyebrows raising up and down jokingly.

He stood up with her and tried to help her stabilize. Before he could ask her if she was okay, she started pounding him with questions. "Az-" She continued talking. "Az," he said with his voice a little louder and more playful. "Az, you know I can't answer that many questions in one given format!" He said with a sing-song voice and a laugh. "Okay, repeat but slower and one at a time." He looked at her with a grin on his face.

Jay watched as her cheeks got red and he couldn't help but smirk at this. "Hmm, so I have to share you don't I? Well, I think I can manage but you know I can be a little selfish when it comes to you," he said teasingly. Every second he became more comfortable and more mischievous. He couldn't help it. Being with her he couldn't help but be that way.

"You know, there is no reason to be embarrassed. I have learned to talk to myself more, he said to her. "I can join the club," he grinned widely at her before returning to his normal expression. His normal, happy expression, the one that he used to have around her. His lips didn't curl into a natural frown now.

Jay laughed at her, "Practice? Oh come on, you don't need practice. You are naturally a good kisser," he said as he shook his head at the ground. He looked back up at her and knew that Azalea was back. The fun moments were back. His life was back.

He chuckled before stopping himself to listen to her questions. Jay nodded when she told him to tell her when she was going to fast. He nodded and then showed her his scarred up forehead that hid underneath his bangs. "Medics checked this but it was healed up when I got here," he looked down at the ground. "Reminder when I got pushed off the train," he mumbled. He lifted up his sweater sleeve to revile a large scar on his arm. "The medics also checked here but again, it was healed up when I got here. They told me it was a miracle that I ended up here without blood on me for being out there so long fighting off monsters," he explained to her. "Is it weird? To say that the water healed me?"

Jay rubbed his arm after she playfully punched him and mumbled a sarcastic 'ow'. He only smirked even more as she said this. "Oh my darling, I doubt that is even possible. You do realize I am a rebel?" Although it was meant to be a question, it came out as more of a statement. He nodded at this, knowing that it was true. There were other people around here and that they would have to split once in a while. He chuckled a little at her. "Just a little? Are you sure?"

Jay nodded with his large smirk becoming more relaxed. "Danger and Will. They sound like quite the bunch," he said to her. When she mentioned the person quest, he winced a little. That twinge of guilt that hadn't left him was still there but she was glad when she spit it out quickly and changed the topic.

Jay nodded again, "Mmhm. I do know, know best for that matter," he slicked back his hair. His comment probably came out more cocky then it should of but that was in his roots. Besides, it probably came out a lot more ridiculous then it should of as well. When she said no one else has to know, his face sunk and looked offended but his eyes only proved he was teasing. "No one else needs to know? But-but all I tell is the truth!" He said with a light smirk. However, he stopped completely when she walked over to check his injuries.

"Yeah. I am fine," he told her. Jay laughed again at her when she stood on her tip toes and cursed him for being so tall. For one, he couldn't help being tall! For two, it made him look more intimidating in appearance. Jay shrugged, "I guess it would be one of my default powers." When she mentioned she was a daughter of Athena, he smiled widely. "Ah, so that is why you have so many mental conversations and why you are a master planner," he noted. "Trust me. The more powers you have, the more you are a target." He shook his head at her. "Don't worry about it. I like listening to you."

Jay nodded, "The few did great me. They even told me stories about my supposed brother Percy. He is a legend around here. Sounds like a nice guy," he said to her. "I got pretty settled in. I didn't really have much except me, my pocket knife, and my guitar. I am sure they wondered how I was able to lug that thing around." Jay stared into her grey eyes and then a question popped into his mind. "What about your siblings?"

Jay smirked and nodded at her. At her second comment, he couldn't help but laugh. "Oh please. You are a terrible liar you do realize? I am sure you would get a little jealous," he said as he pushed her hair back behind her hair. Of course, he needed to make a point. He always seemed to have to prove that he was right one way or another. It was just in his nature. Probably the more cocky side of his true nature.

"Well, Danger does sound like a good guy. I need to check him out for myself though," he said with a wink. He couldn't help but wonder who Will was though and all he did was nod. He couldn't think of anything to say to that. But he did know what to say to her last comment. "You think? My dear, I am sure there will always be new people to mention." He winked at her sarcastically.

Jay chuckled, "Indeed I am. It's in my nature," he said with a shrug. Suddenly, he noticed her eyes widen and she seemed to become a little more upset. He nodded at her as she explained to him everything. "I promise I won't say anything about that. Your past is yours to revile, it's not my responsibility or my choice," he said to her before his face changed from a serious expression into a smirk, "I will brag about you though. Trust me, the camp has to know how amazing you are."

Jay raised an eyebrow, blinking several times. She had to be joking. It sounded like she was talking about a movie, the powers this person had. He was silent for a long time, even though she made a comment that he could have probably turned into a joke where they could just go back and forth. He was just in shock. "You're-you're kidding. Right?" Jay asked after many minutes of silence.

Jay folded his arms across his chest, "Oh really? A lot like me? No one, can be like Jayson Seawick," he couldn't help but snicker after saying this. It sounded so ridiculous coming out of his mouth. Jay stopped himself and his face returned to being normal. "Yeah. Same guitar," he said to her. As he watched her though, she seemed to look more uncomfortable when he mentioned her siblings. He knew her to well not to notice. "You know-are they nice? Did they great you?"

Jay nodded as he entwined his hands with hers. The tingling sensation went from his hand to his spine. However, you wouldn't even know it because he so focused on one thing. Azalea. "Mmhm, exactly. So why do it?" He said with a half-smile forming. As she stated that she would be super jealous, he nodded his head. "As I thought," he said with a huff. He watched his eyes glowing in the sun. He leaned in next to her and whispered gently in her ear. "If you ever get jealous, let me know. Don't want my girl to me unhappy," he said sweetly.

As he pulled back he kissed her on the cheek. He looked into her eyes and recalled all the good memories they had. To be honest, he was surprised she hadn't found another guy to move on with. But then again, maybe it was because both of them learned how to love because of each other.

Jay let out a laugh at her wiggling eyebrows. Then he nodded at her. "But of course love," he said with his voice sounding like a French person. However, I should say a terrible French accent. His southern, New York accent totally threw him off. "I must make sure that I have captured my ladies heart completely. Tisk tisk. I am a selfish boy," he smirked mischievously at her.

As she asked the question what was there to brag, he let out a laugh. His voice was by now, back to normal. "What is there not to brag about?" He got closer to her. "Your beautiful, kind, hilarious, amazing to be around. Shall I even continue?" He said as let go of his hand to cross his arms. His face looked part way confused but with that sweet 'you seriously don't know your beautiful' gaze.

Jay chuckled, "Well dang, I guess I should have tried to save the world a long time ago," he teased. Jay's happy expression immediately faltered when she started saying negative things about herself. "Hey, your not stupid that's for sure," he walked over and brought her chin up to face him. "For the Gods sake you are Athena's child. You didn't even know who you were. Stop beating yourself up."

Jay's serious expression turned into a large grin and he laughed. "So if I am so powerful, I believe the camp needs to bow down at my feet," he said teasingly with a low chuckle. "But that also means that you are my queen." He pulled his hand back away from her, leaving that mysterious vibe coming off of him. Jay smiled softly at this and nodded. But his face immediately turned to concern. "Surgery?"

Jay laughed at her. "Convince me? I doubt that is a possibility," he said to her with a gleam in his eye. Heck, no matter if she practiced lying or if she wanted to make up something, Jay would catch on. He was a pretty smart guy even though he wasn't an Athena kid. As she frowned and said that he laughed again. "Oh trust me, no need. If they come near me, I will blow them away with my powers," he said as he flexed his muscle.

Jay smiled softly at her. "What, to make you happy? Or that I can make you absolutely crazy just by the flick of my wrist?" A smirk formed as he said this with his eyebrows raised. He of course, was only teasing her. He knew exactly what she meant. She too could make him happy and feel like the world was at their feet. Like nothing could go wrong.

Jay felt better after she said this, making him feel a little more confident. Well. Not that he hadn't already had an over abundance of confidence. "Oh yes my dear," he pulled her close to him and looked at her deeply in the eyes. "I am a selfish boy when it comes to you." But then he let go of her.

He watched as she backed against the tree. Was he making her embarrassed? Probably. As she put her hands on his chest, he didn't reach to grab them and instead enjoyed the warmth of them. "You never know, I could make you crazy and em brass you in front of them of your amount of greatness," he said with a chuckle. A wide smiled formed at this thought. Maybe he could do that. Just maybe.

"Made a name for myself? Well, I have been fighting monsters. No one has know much about me," he told her with his smile a little faded. He shook his head at her. "Smartass is one of your many qualities though. In a good way," he said teasingly. "But being Athena's daughter proves that being smart is awesome," he said with a quick nod.

Jay laughed at her realization. It was funny how she didn't catch on right away. He was shocked though when she didn't make a comment on it though. He watched as she rubbed the back of her neck, knowing that something was bothering her. "What are you hiding?" Jay asked her.
