After Issac have helped her into the infirmary she was handled with great care. Her ankle was wrapped up but kept her there so she wouldn't do worse damage to it. Her ankle was propped up as her other leg was pulled closer to her chest with a book there. John Milton's Paradise Lost was the one her sibling grabbed. She would of preferred Niccoló Machiavelli's The Prince but she was glad for the distraction. Raven missed college in Boston and she was so close to getting her degree. Few people came in and out with scraps and bruise but nothing real bad so it was mainly quiet around the place. Instead of her red hair being up pike earlier she had it pulled down and in natural waves.
It had been a couple of hours since Isaac had took Raven to the Infirmary. He decided to see how she was doing, walking in to see her laying on her bed with her ankle taken care of. He sat down on the chair that was propped beside the bed, probably the most uncomfortable chairs you could ever have but the only chairs in the room. "How you doing?" Was his first question, not sure what else to say. Leaning back in the chair, he felt it creak like it would snap, and leaned forward, feeling a bit wary. Isaac to be fair wasn't actually sure why he was sitting here - but he hadn't quite worked the girl out yet and he wanted to, wanted to see what her deal was.
Raven was too in grossed with her book she didn't see or hear Issac come in but when he talked she literally jumped. Her book fell to the floor and her hand went to her heart. She was hyperventilating from being surprised and some from fear. After a minute or so she calmed down and looked over to see Issac in the chair beside her. Her mouth opened to say wasn't you taught not to sneak up on someone but the words never came out so she just closed her open mouth. She ran a hand through her hair before looking for her book she dropped. "I've been worse," she said not looking at him but at the floor.
He nodded slowly, feeling slightly guilty that he scared her but knew that she would get over it. He leant forward in his knees, his chin cupped in his hands. "Fair enough. What did they say?" he said. He wondered how bad her ankle was, but guessed by her comment that she would be perfectly fine. He smiled at his, but didn't expect her to smile back.
When she found her book she smiled and was quick to grab it. The book was well worn from reading since the paperback cover was frayed at the edges and bent in places. Even with the worn pages she was so thoughtful about the old words that that made her think on how she should of been in situations. "They said I shouldn't put pressure on it for awhile and that I need to be careful," she answered him when she was out of her own place. "Its why they haven't let me return to my cabin, I tend to wander around." She has been in the infirmary a handful of times for small things like just walking around and ending up in the middle of kids doing archery. "Why are you wondering about me?"
He didn't realise her book had fell to the floor, and would have got it if he noticed. He felt a bit stupid. "Sorry I didn't realise you'd drop your book or I woulda got it." He said. "Just because. I mean, I kinda caused your accident." He said with a cheeky grin and slight chuckle. He was clumsy, but his clumsiness always managed to be worse for the people he was around. It was quite comical.
She sighed at him with a shake of her head. Instead of telling him off or anything she just looked at the cover of her book, lightly tracing the almost non existent letters of the title. This was who she turned out to be. Raven couldn't even think of defending herself with her words because the abuse was harsh on her. Pushing a stray strand of hair back Issac since being so close could see the white scar behind her ear from the time she hit her head off her nightstand. Anyone could think it was from stupid kid stuff but to know she was normal that would be overestimating. "You didn't have to make sure I was fine, no one really does," she whispered the last part so softly it was like the wind. She wanted to understand why he seemed so concerned when he hardly knew her and she apparently didn't seem to want him around.
He shrugged, noticing her scar. "Well I wanted to see how you were doing... What happened to your ear?" He asked, referring to the scar. He guessed that she'd been through a lot, because of her quiet ways and fear to talk to him. He kinda felt bad, but at the same time didn't really know how to handle it. He wanted to become friends but he felt like she wouldn't want that and that he kept pushing her away.
She immediately moved her hair to cover the scar. She let her guard down for a moment and let's people see what she's been in. How could she tell someone she was abused by her stepfather or whatever he was to her for his amusement. She was his little toy that he loved to just downgrade. "I hit my head a few years ago." She looked at the book trying to think of a half truth she could tell. Unlike a normal person she tried to stay as close to the truth as she could and if not told them the truth. The scar was long and had curved along behind her ear and it wasn't the only one she had. She had a jagged one on her left side from being thrown in a glass table when she was sixteen. Her small size made it easy to be over powered by weight so it wasn't complicated or hard to think that she was thrown. "Have you read this?" She changed her train of thoughts to her book. "Paradise Lost?"
