Kaia rummaged through all the creepy specimens as quickly as she could. She couldn't believe she had agreed to help the Hecate kids find ingredients for another one of their "super cool spells". The big house attic gave her the heebie-jeebeies. She walked by a weirdly shaped eyeball that seemed to follow her everywhere and shuddered, before finally spotting what she needed across the room, next to the mummified oracle. "Of course it's over there," she mumbled to herself, steeling her nerves as she walked over there. She held an irrational fear that the mummy would suddenly grab her and never let go.
Kaia almost dropped the glass of who-knows-what onto the ground, but managed to keep a firm grip on the jar. She turned around to introduce herself, a smile on her face."Oh that's alright, just gave me a bit of a scare," she let out a small giggle. "I don't think I've met you before. I'm Kaia."
"It's nice to meet you too!" Kaia replied with an equally brilliant smile. Then, making friendly conversation because she wanted to get to know this girl, she asked, "What are you up here for?"
Kaia noticed Kali's hesitation. But decided not to call her out on it, she didn't want to make any enemies. And besides, it was Kali's information to give. She has just met the girl, she couldn't expect her to divulge her deepest secrets... Even though she could if she wanted... She shook the thought away. No way she scolded herself. She eyed Kali's sundress.
"You don't really look like the kind of person who would explore an attic." She looked down at her own stylish blouse and mini skirt. "Then again, neither do I." She joked.
Kaia chuckled a little. "Definitely not who I would peg as your father, but I knew you couldn't be Aphrodite because I doubt I would miss one of my sisters." She then remembered that they were in the attic and suppressed a shiver.
"So, what are you looking for? I probably went through everything in here looking for this," she waved the jar of...slime maybe? Who knows what the Hecate cabin was doing with this stuff. "I could probably help you find it!"
"Oh!" Kaia said in surprise. She had never been on a quest, despite being here for many years. While she had been home just last summer, and she enjoyed Camp, she yearned to be back in the world again. While her acting career was long forgotten by the media, she still longed for the spotlight she could probably never have again. "Well then. I should probably get going?" She phrased it more of a question than a statement. Yet she still lingered in her spot, waiting, hoping, that Kali would say something.
Kaia almost jumped up and down in excitement. Although she found the mummy very creepy, she was excited to see it actually give a prophesy. She backed away from her position next to the mummy and stood slightly behind Kali as she stepped forward. She eagerly awaited the prophesy, wondering what it could be.
Kaia watched in awe as the green mist emanated from the mummy. She inched away slightly and shuddered as the mummy spoke, however. The oracles voice seemed to match her appearance. The goosebumps on her arms seemed to multiply after each line. As she was standing behind Kali, she couldn't read her reaction, although she seemed to stand a little stiffer. "Well..." She said after a pause. "That sounded kinda dark, dontcha think?" She let out a nervous giggle.
Kaia felt bad for Kali, although she couldn't place why. She could tell this quest was based on personal situations though, and refrained from asking. She still felt flattered that Kali asked her to talk to Chiron about it. "Sure!" She said, and winced at the sound of her voice. She sounded a bit too perky and excited for the situation.
(( do you guys mind if I join in for the quest? I have a guy named Connor, son of Zeus. ))
Kaia watched Kali's face closely, watching her emotions churn in her head. Kaia couldn't help but feel conflicted herself. Her mind dwelled on the first line about the land of the dead, which clearly was the underworld, but she did wonder about the creator. The creator of what? she wondered. She shook her head to stop thinking too much about it. For Hera's sake, she didn't even know if Kali would even invite her on the quest. She tried to smile reassuringly to Kali as she climbed down the ladder from the attic. She couldn't help but feel like the air was clearer than in the attic and was very relieved to get out. ((To Chiron's office? Do you want to post first?))
