((It should probably be you. I don't know how you want this to go or how much he's supposed to know. Is he claimed for roleplay?))Kaia followed Kali in hesitantly, wondering if she was going to find out more about Kali's history. She felt kind of awkward, as she had just met this girl today, and although she seemed like the kind of girl she's love to be friends with, but was wondering if this was kind of intimate information for a person she just met.
Kaia waited patiently as Kali recited the prophesy. She tried to keep her mind devoid of deep thoughts of the quest. She too, found it interesting that the number was five as well. Although it did say two would fail and turn away. She hoped that didn't mean two people would die. It didn't directly say that they would die necessarily, but prophesies seemed to always have double meanings, if the stories about others quests were anything to go by. She looked up as Chiron acknowledged her and blushed when he asked if she missed the limelight.
"Um, yeah. Kind of," she said honestly. She couldn't lie to Chiron. "It's not something that really goes away once you have it. I think I might always miss it," she continued, getting lost in her own world for a moment. She had very much enjoyed the spotlight and while she now understood that being so recognizable was a very bad thing, she couldn't help but yearn to be noticed again. Feeling like she made differences in people's life and gave entertainment as a temporary relief from the ugly and bitter reality. She didn't think she would ever not miss the spotlight. Realizing she had fallen silent for quite some time now, she shook her head to clear her thoughts.
"Well, um, maybe we should focus more the the quest," she suggested rather nervously.
Kaia noticed as Kali glanced at her, seemingly surprised. She sincerely hoped that Kali wouldn't think of her as a "silly, useless Aphrodite child" that most people did. While she pretended it didn't bother her, in fact, she seemed to embrace it, it kind of hurt to think that people thought she was useless and only good at being pretty. She was about to turn to leave, with or without Kali- as she sensed that Chiron's words were a dismissal- when Kali started to say something else. She seemed nervous, like she was a puppy that had known it had done something wrong. When Kali glanced again at Kaia, she thought she was going to ask her to leave. When she didn't, Kaia listened intently as Kali told the story of how she had gotten a big mark on her back. Kaia was quite shocked, to say the least. She also couldn't help but notice that Kali looked like she was expecting to get punished or something and she resisted the urge to hug Kali right then and no. Then, Kaia thought back to the Prophesy's last line about a mark. Could it be that mark?
Kaia could tell that telling Chiron was difficult. She knew that telling Kali's father would be even more difficult. She followed Kali outside, and watched as she put her head in her hands. Kaia sat down next to her and let out a long breath. She debated what to say for a while. Everything just sounded wrong.
"Are you okay?" She winced with how stupid it sounded.
Kaia furrowed her brow at Kali with worry. It was probably better to talk about what was bothering her, but maybe right now was not a really good time for deep, heart to heart chats. "If you'd let me, I'd love to help," Kaia said, smiling at Kali reassuringly. "And we should probably tell the camp as well, see if anyone else wants to volunteer."
(( wherever you guys are. Do you mind if I join in? Like before the quest))
