P A N ( is back ) (millieevemarie) ...

ʀᴇᴅ (urfavoritecolor) | 98 comments Lakes don't have waves because there's no constant push and pull of the tides by the moon. Sure, the water moves, there's just no waves. It's just the way life works. But right now there were waves, because someone else was pushing the water. It was none other than a child of Poseidon, specifically the one named Zachary. Zac liked beaches better, so he often willed the lake to intimidate waves and just stood on the shore, listening to the pleasant sound. He didn't mind that he was alone, as Peter was off doing whatever Peter did and Zac was just here, enjoying himself by the lake.

P A N ( is back ) (millieevemarie) Annabel had always loved being on her own, liking the peace and quiet of isolation, but she wasn't exactly a loner. She just didn't like loudness, and places so full of activity that they made her feel claustrophobic and suffocated. The lake was one of her favourite places to come to when she wanted to be alone, sitting right by the edge so she can dip her feet in and tease the fish, a book in her hand and reading it contently. As she was in her usual spot, her denim playsuit waved slightly in the soft wind, her converse next to her and her hair pulled back into a messy bun. In her hand was The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. It was one of her favourite books, as she was a big fan of the glitz and glamour and jazz music. She was so engrossed in her book, she didn't even notice the boy on the other side of the lake, and the water splashing her slightly; but only slightly.

ʀᴇᴅ (urfavoritecolor) | 98 comments Zac liked walking around barefoot. He usually was barefoot. It was nice that way. He was wearing a pair of basketball shorts, black like his hair and a white tank top; nothing too flashy. There was no one to impress, so why not just dress comfortably. It was nice that way. Zac noticed a girl sitting over by herself, reading a book and not reacting at all to his waves. A small smile appeared on his face as he willed the waves to go stronger, and farther out. And they followed his orders as Zac turned his head, looking out towards the lake.

P A N ( is back ) (millieevemarie) Annabel was on page 125, her reading speed quite quick. She loved the characters in the book, especially Daisy, finding her an independent and strong woman. Anna enjoyed reading books with strong female characters, not really a fan of gender stereotypes. Without warning, as she read on, a wave splashed her, not only her feet wet but now her book, hair and clothes. She looked around her, noticing the boy this time, guessing it was him. She wanted to yell at him for soaking her, but she was too shy and slightly anxious, and so tried to shake off the almost soaked book. She sighed, hating the fact that she struggled to stand up for herself. But she was just not confident enough, and it frustrated her so much. The sunglasses on top of her head were now over her eyes, not wanting the boy to see her fearful, anxious self.

ʀᴇᴅ (urfavoritecolor) | 98 comments Zac heard the wave hit her, and continued to look out to the lake for a moment before he turned and looked at the quiet beauty. She was all wet, but she didn't say anything. Zac glanced at the water, a bit shocked. "I didn't say to to soak her."He mumbled, glancing over to her. Slowly, she and her book dried up before you couldn't even tell she had been hit. Zac enjoyed doing that, has he felt like it was pretty cool, taking all the water off a person and returning it to where it belonged. Zac slipped his hands into his pockets, and turned his whole body to look at her, his head a bit to the side and his hair hanging out a little. Anyone that could see could tell he was relaxed. It looked as if anything could happen and he would just take it with no problem.

P A N ( is back ) (millieevemarie) Anna could feel his eyes on her, making her feel anxious and uncomfortable. She hated herself for not being able to talk to people as easily others, feeling like there was something wrong with her. Then she would overthink it, and build up a mountain of worries that slowly consumed her. She looked at him, the sunglasses masking her true feelings, then looked away just as quickly, staring at the ground. She didn't want to have an anxiety attack, so she breathed in and out slowly. But then all of a sudden she slumped to the floor, falling asleep. Her narcolepsy condition had struck again.

ʀᴇᴅ (urfavoritecolor) | 98 comments She looked at him, but quickly looked away. It was kind of saddening to Zac that she wouldn't say anything. That she would just look and sit there silently. And then, well, things got a bit weird. She just fell. For a second she was upright, looking just fine, and next thing you knew she was on the ground. Zac calmly walked over, not entirely sure what to do. He stared at her for a second before he kneeled down, poking her side with his finger. She seemed to be asleep? Hm. "Excuse me? Miss?" Zac shook her gently, trying to wake her up.

P A N ( is back ) (millieevemarie) Today she wasn't asleep for so long - two minutes to be exact but not that she really knew that. The boy was beside her now, and she scrambled up into a sitting position, not sure what to say. "Um-er, err..." She stuttered, embarrassed from falling asleep, yet again. She could feel her cheeks flushing bright red, her sunglasses still over her eyes and hiding the awkwardness she still felt. She was terrible around people, especially when it came to boys. She sighed, knowing she had to say something. "I was asleep again wasn't I?" It came out in a quick tumble of words, hating the fact she had to talk to him. It wasn't him, it was her. She was just so full of worry.

ʀᴇᴅ (urfavoritecolor) | 98 comments Maybe two minutes later she sat up, almost as if nothing had happened. Her cheeks were red showing she was embarrassed, and she looked so cute. "Uh, yeah... You must be really tired, huh?" Zac chuckled a bit, passing her a smile. The sunglasses were blocking what he liked to look at, people's eyes. They always told the truth while everything else lied. Zac knew his hands were still on her, one on her back and the other on her leg, but he made no effort to move away. He was too busy trying to see beyond the sunglasses.

P A N ( is back ) (millieevemarie) She laughed slightly, but she was still a bit nervous. "I umm...have...narcolepsy." She said, feeling quite sad about it. "I nearly drowned once because of it." She said, trying not to relive that moment - not that she could really remember it all that way, she was asleep. She noticed him trying to see through her sunglasses, and as much as she didn't want to she took them off and placed them once more on top of her head. "I'm Annabel - call me Anna though." she said, forgetting to ask what his name was in return.

ʀᴇᴅ (urfavoritecolor) | 98 comments Oh! She had that disease thing, the one that makes people fall asleep at random times. Well, that's upsetting, and pretty dangerous. She mentioned how she nearly drowned one time because of it, and Zac didn't like that idea. He didn't know what it felt like to drown. And then she took her glasses off. Zac liked her eyes, they were such a nice soft blue. It was nice. "Anna? Sweet. I like it. My name's Zachary. But I prefer Zac. Guess we both like nicknames?" Zac was smiling at her, his darker eyes meeting her brighter ones.

P A N ( is back ) (millieevemarie) She smiled shyly. "Yeah I guess. I like Annabel but...it's too ...pretty for a girl like me. Anna suits me more." She said with a shrug. She liked his name; Zac. Secretly she preferred Zachary but she wasn't going to mention that; if he wanted to be called Zac she would call him that. As his dark eyes met her brighter eyes, she could see her reflection slightly, quite shy and nervous. She hated looking like that and looked away quickly, instead staring at the sparkling water in the lake.

ʀᴇᴅ (urfavoritecolor) | 98 comments Too pretty? What? "Aw no, you're beautiful. If that name is too pretty then it must be hard to find a girl worth that name." He admitted, not at all being shy. Annabel was a pretty name, he had to admit it. It probably looked nice written down, and he wanted to try it out on the wet sand but decided he'd wait. She was looking into his eyes the way he was looking at hers. But she seemed to be looking at something else rather than him, and then she turned away, looking at the water. Zac looked at the familiar substance for a bit before he looked back at her, a mischievous look in his eye. "Want to see something cool?"

P A N ( is back ) (millieevemarie) Calling her beautiful made her blush, but she didn't find it complementary at all. She didn't think she was beautiful at all, finding herself simple and a bit of a plain Jane. Hearing his voice ask her a question she looked up again. "Sure." She said. But she said it quietly, going back to her shy self after moments of confidence; something that she lacked and hated.

ʀᴇᴅ (urfavoritecolor) | 98 comments "Sweet." The only word he bothered to say before he sat right beside her. The lake water was calm for a moment, peacefully sitting in the hole made of dirt. And then it came right at them. Like if some giant creature splashed water at them, and now a giant wave was coming their way. The wave was higher up, a good ten feet and should have come crashing onto them, except it didn't. It stopped just above their heads and sloshed all around them like there was some sort of bubble around their heads. And there was. An air bubble, specifically. Fish swam around their heads, and a peaceful smile was glued to Zac's face. He loved water and everything about it.

P A N ( is back ) (millieevemarie) Anna's eyes widened, not picking up on the fact that he was a kid of Poseidon. She wasn't that good at them kind of things. The water was a couple of feet above them, and she couldn't help but cower slightly. She then grinned, and with her mind she manipulated his thought process, causing the water to crash down on just him and fall back into the lake. She moved out of the way before a drop landed on her, stifling a laugh, not sure how he would react.

message 18: by ʀᴇᴅ (new)

ʀᴇᴅ (urfavoritecolor) | 98 comments Well. That was unexpected. Zac was usually so great at controlling the water, how did this just happen? For a second he was rather angry, mainly with himself for letting that happen, and he sat there emotionless, debating what exactly to do. And then he spit the water out of his mouth, and he laughed. "Well at least the lady didn't get wet."He commented, though he was however no longer wet or even damp. There was no sign he ha even been touched by the water.

P A N ( is back ) (millieevemarie) ((Her face claim?))

Annabel grinned. "I can manipulate thoughts and dreams - hence why you're wet and I'm not." She said, chuckling slightly. Weirdly she starting to feel more at ease, but obviously her anxiety was still lingering. For now however, she had it under control. She looked at him and chuckled yet again. "You are soaked." She observed, looking into his eyes with her laughing ones. Anna didn't know what else to say, knowing she had nothing to do with air manipulation and couldn't dry him off. "Can you manipulate air? Otherwise you'll be kinda wet for a while." She eventually said.

ʀᴇᴅ (urfavoritecolor) | 98 comments Zac liked her smile he thought she looked cute when she laughed. He ran a hand through his damp hair, getting it out of his face, looking out to the lake as she described her powers. "Ah, the sleep God, huh?" He asked, looking over to her. "I can't control the air or anything, but I can remove the water molecules on me to dry myself up. Plus the water can only wet me when I want it to, and right now I don't want that." He explained, smiling faintly. And then he did just that, and dried up right before her eyes. He did however leave his hair a little damp, damp enough for him to style it just the way he liked it.

P A N ( is back ) (millieevemarie) She grinned. "That's pretty cool," she said, watching as he dried almost instantly. She was surprised at how comfortable she felt around him, not one to enjoy being around other people. But she sort of felt safe which was kind of weird because she never did. He also had pretty cool powers, she has to admit, and they fascinated her greatly. She didn't find hers that amazing, actually finding them incredibly boring because they weren't as fun as being bake to manipulate water.
