Meagan | 10 comments Tamlin's house has an art gallery!?!? I loved the scene where Tamlin took Feyre to see it! She was just in awe and she's painting again! Yay!!

Wow... The scene where the faerie died... Feyre's sympathy for him and trying to ease his pain so extremely touching!

Lucien's back story was the BEST! It helps you understand him so much more!! And it makes me like him and trust him more.

Tamlin & Feyre swimming in the pond of starlight was the start of their kindling! But then Tamlin & Feyre in the rose garden is when I knew they had an attraction! That got a little steamy ;p

Fire Night ritual was freaking creepy! I got the eeriest feeling the entire time Feyre was wandering around it. Thank god for Lucien to find her and bring her back to the house!! And holy crap!!! Tamlin & Feyre's little encounter at the end of the Fire Night ritual. I am kinda speechless in a good and bad way. I hated but loved that scene. It gave me the feels and I was like "oooo hot damn" BUT it kind of came off a little too aggressive for my likings... A little too much possession and rape feels coming from Tamlin that I didn't really like but at the same time I was like "just both of you give in already!"
I don't know, anyone else have comments on that scene????

Erij (utopiankaori) Hi Meagan!
About that last scene in chapter 21, I really didn't like the controlling aspect of it. I know it's supposed to be hot, but it didn't really give me that feeling. Well maybe a bit, *guilty* , but I hate it when males are portrayed as the dominant controlling type.
After what he did to her, when he told her not to disobey him again, I was shocked. But then she slapped him, and I was like, YOU GO GIRL!

Well, this is not how Tamlin is actually like(hopefully), so I guess that's okay for now.

Yeah!! He ended up being really sweet! But he's a "beast" when he loses control. I was guilty of somewhat enjoying it as well though lol. But I was whooping and hollering when she slapped him hehehe.

Zuleka Kok | 1 comments I have to agree with both of you. I also did not like this side of him and happy she stood up for herself. I am however very curious to who the other fairy was she met at the fire night ritual???

I'm irritated that Feyre continues to have a death wish. It makes it very hard for me to like her when she keeps making stupid decisions.

I loved the scene with the dying faerie. It made me like Feyre more and I wish her character showed that strong and dependable side more often instead of the irrational side.

Really interested in our dark stranger at the ritual. I think I know who it is and I already love him. He reminds me of The Darkling from the Grisha trilogy.

I had similar problems with the Tamlin/Feyre scene. A part of me found it very interesting (it's the first time I've really enjoyed their dynamic) but I also found it problematic. I'm interested to see what happens moving forward with them.

Wendy (faerybookish) Oooh ooh ooh Who is Mr. Dark Mysterious Stranger? *want more*

That scene with Tamlin & Feyre at the end of Fire Night was hot. Only because they explained the ritual would have Tamlin acting not himself and because she slapped him for it. I really want to see him burning with some embarrassment for that one.

I really loved Fire Night, faery revels are my favourite. Especially intense mysterious ones with violet-eyed strangers.

Violet-eyed stranger was the highlight for me!

Raul (latinlector) | 16 comments I like that we got some more back story on the characters and really enjoyed the scene with the dying faerie as everyone else did. But I found it kind of cheap the explanation they gave as to why Tamlin is nice to Feyre. Because his father and brothers were not kind and he doesn't want to be like them was just not very convincing to me.

And Feyre makes some stupid decisions which frustrates me! For a hunter who is supposed to have good instincts she's not really showing that.

Elizabeth (chapterson) | 2 comments I just finished reading chapter 20 and who the heck is this "most beautiful man" Feyre has ever seen????? No. I ship her and Tamlin too much to have her be crushin on some other dude nooooooooo

Elizabeth (chapterson) | 2 comments Referring back to my previous comment....
False alarm lol

Kayla (Heroic Pages) (heroicpages) | 12 comments Chapter 19, just frustrated me. The all of a sudden change in Feyre towards Tamlin just made me want to chuck my book at the wall. All of a sudden she's wanting to run her hands through his hair....like....no. I would have been less frustrated if it had been Lucien instead to be honest.

Also, with the Fire Night....why can't Feyre just do as she's told. She knows there is plenty about this world that she doesn't understand...just do as you are told girly!!! Even if she was 'drawn' to the rite by some sort of pull, Lucien told her again not to come out of her room until morning, yet she still leaves her room in the middle of the night. grrrr

Although, with then ending of chapter 21, this is the first time I have been intrigued with this book. That there IS more to the world then Tamlin's estate. So far when I'm imagined Feyre's surroundings, it's an empty castle and empty grounds, with people only appearing when needed. There is not much sense of life around the castle. Like I know there is Aslin and people in the kitchen, but that's about it.

Now that you mention it, I would have bought her and Lucien as a pairing more than her and Tamlin.

Agata (agatareads) | 8 comments So we finally got an explanation for why Tamlin spared Feyre and I'm not impressed, I get that Tamlin is supposed to be this good guy but I'm really not getting enough of his personality. It seemed a bit of a cop out

Feyre is still frustrating, can she please do what she's told! She's supposed to be this (typical) YA strong heroine but that doesn't mean that she has to question every ounce of authority. Though, yes, I did like to see this compassionate side to her in action (it reminded me of Lea from the Kiss of Deception (that scene where she helps the boy)), we see her compassion and it eventuates the love she has for her family and how she wants to protect them. Which I was glad to see as I'm not buying into her whole 'I'm responsible for the family' perspective, her family seemed to treat her really badly.

Mr Stranger, hello. I would like to see more of you please.(though her description of him as 'the most beautiful man she had ever seen' did throw me off, we're supposed to ship her and Tamlin right, so I have a feeling that this mystery man is someone who will create a lot of bad later on)

The ritual.... I thought it was creepy. I sounds slightly like a sacrificial orgy. Yeah...it freaked me out a bit.

And the end scene of chapter 21; it didn't bother me like it did some other people, I don't mind this controlling side to Tamlin(the biting thing was a little odd). I'm more interested in seeing how this changes the relationship dynamic between them for the rest of the book.

Hmmm. I'm intrigued by our stranger with the violet eyes, he gives me The Darkling from The Grisha vibes too Sam! I didn't have too much of an issue with the scene between them because it wasn't 'him' - I would have had issues had it gone any further but I was okay with it, but I didn't like how okay with it he was the next day, that irked me a lot. I expected him to feel really guilty and he was so fine with it. BUT then at the same time, Feyre DOES seem to have a death wish :/

She's irritating me a lot, with her stupid decisions. But I am definitely enjoying it a lot more now, there's more plot going on.

Okay! First! Is the dark stranger GASTON!? Haha and do I aurally like him!?

Anyways.. The death scene was intense and sad which I really enjoyed. The emotion she put into that scene was so real.

However, why does she keep disobeying them!? If someone told me to just stay inside all night and lock the door I would, I don't wanna die.. I'd be constructing more plans to escape.

Furthermore, she goes out twice!!? Why would you leave again other than to find Mr. Tall Dark and Handsome!!? And I absolutely hated the hallway encounter. Maas's writing felt so weak and disjointed in that scene... Plus I hate how stupid feyre was and how dominate tamlin was... Although he is a beast and at least she slapped him, maybe she has some fight in her!
