Laura | 13 comments I am looking for books where a human female falls in love with a dragon or vice versa. It is okay for the dragons to be shape shifters but I want them to be more dragon than man. I am not looking for the hypersexual stories but some sexuality is fine. I am looking for stories similar to One Good Knight by Mercedes Lackey or The Princess's Dragon by Susan Trombley.

MJ | 1622 comments Adrianne Brooks, The Dragon King and I

Thea Harrison, Dragon Bound

Stacie Simpson, Releasing the Dragon

Natalie J. Damschroder, Soul of the Dragon (didn't love it)

Penelope Fletcher, Smolder (just holds on, the second book can send me intro a rant with no end on how many mistakes there are in it. And that's before you consider the editing nightmare. It sucks because the story itself has heaps of potential).

Dragon Bound and Releasing the Dragon are not the sort of thing I am looking for, too modern and too smutty

Myst | 48 comments In Other Worlds Dragonswan is an introductory story to the Dark Hunters universe. Most of the weres in later books aren't dragons (so far), but there is a dragon-were living in the attic of a club. Last year Son of No One was the start of the were-dragon arc.

Related to the above 2 books but a separate series are the Lords of Avalon books:
Sword of Darkness
Knight of Darkness

But they are generally more 'human' than dragon. The dragons while in human form do think differently than humans do.

Only mentioning them since the canon of the series say the dragons spend more time living in the past (time travellers) since they're not as easy to spot/hunt.

Humour ok? If so, try G.A. Aiken (aka Shelly Laurenston) The dragons tend to be a bit....well, exaggerated. Like one is extremely vain, and is convinced that everyone else is jealous and just doesn't understand them for that reason. One is extremely bad tempered, so much so, that the only person he likes is his mate (who is human.) Not all of the mates are human--some are witch born (which seems to be totally different species than human) and many are other dragons. But as I said, there is a lot of humour in this series. It's called Dragon Kin. Dragon Actually is the first book in the series.

HEAjunkie | 8 comments Coreene Callahan, Dragonfury series. Shapeshifter uber alpha dragon males and human females. Expect a lot of sex, though. Fury of Fire (Dragonfury, #1) by Coreene Callahan is the first book in the series. Didn't like it much personally but it might work for others.

Nadine | 23 comments I haven't read it yet, but The Smoke Thief
has been recommended to me several times. However, the woman is a halfling, not full human.

Thea (amethystmoon420) | 3 comments Dragon's Bait

It's about a girl who gets sacrificed to a dragon because she was convicted as a witch. The dragon doesn't kill her and ends up helping her get revenge on the townspeople.
