Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2181 comments So what book about the Tudors or Tudor England would y'all like to read in August? (Hopefully we should be done with Mary Queen of Scots by then!)

Two nominations to a person, please.

Can't remember what we've already had as group reads? (Sometimes I can't, either.) There's a "group-reads" shelf at the group bookshelf.

Carolyn | 29 comments I like the idea of a bring up the bodies. I have read it but would enjoy being in on the discussion about it.

Michael | 2 comments Gloriana's Torch is my nomination

Silvia | 92 comments I suggest The Man on a Donkey by H. F. M. Prescott.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2181 comments I see that Gloriana's Torch is listed as third in a series - does that matter to being able to read and enjoy the book?

message 12: by Michael (new)

Michael | 2 comments I bought Gloriana's Torch without being aware that it was third in a series. I found it very enjoyable. The author filled you in briefly as to what had occurred in the previous novels in the course of the plot, but I felt it can stand alone as a great story.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2181 comments OK, cool.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2181 comments I'll nominate Queen's Gambit by Elizabeth Freemantle, and John Guy's The Children of Henry VIII.
