Lilac Anne Ceridwen.
ly-lac ann ser-id-wen
42.
September 24.
9:13 p.m.
A hospital in Oregon.
Lilac was born an only child. Her parents, Nancy and Jerry Drew, always pressured her to be the best at everything. School, sports, music, you name it. Of course, nobody can be good at everything. Lilac knew this, and thought her parents were ridiculous. Being the honest type, she told them this. All they did in reaction to this was scold her, and try to make her better. Nancy and Jerry eventually gave up on her. Lilac wasn't going to be their perfect daughter. So they gave her up for adoption at the age of 14.
Lilac was horrified when she learned that she was going to be given up for adoption. After begging her parents to let her stay with them, she ran away from home. She stayed on the run for 2 months before her parents found her, living in an abandoned building. They gave her up for adoption a week after she was found. Lilac was sent to a few foster homes before finally being adopted by Stu and Bella Dillien. Stu and Bella already had 2 adopted children, Lana and Theo, both older than Lilac. When Stu and Bella adopted Lilac, they also adopted 2 younger kids, Stacy and Martin. For quite a while, Lilac avoided her adopted family She had never wanted this. She still didn't.
Eventually, Lilac warmed up to her family. She felt kind of guilty about it, but she loved them more than her biological parents. One day, when she was 17, Lilac went on a 2 week long vacation with her family. They stayed in a hotel that Lilac became extremely fond of. She could always see the ocean from the balcony, the food served at the hotel was great, and the beds were beyond comfy. It inspired her to open up her own hotel someday.
When Lilac was 23, she met Matthew Ceridwen. They fell in love, and got married. They moved to Los Angeles, California, together, and when Lilac was 25, they had their first child together, a boy named Aiden. They had 3 more children together after him. One day, Lilac told Matthew how much she'd wanted to own a hotel since she was 17 years old. He told her that it was a great idea, and maybe they could open up a hotel together someday. But at that point they were very busy with their kids. But when Lilac was 42, it finally happened. They opened up Hotel Necropolis together.
Lilac has always been confident and honest. She always tells people what she really thinks, in the politest way possible if she doesn't want to hurt their feelings, of course. Sh loves her kids and husband a lot, and is very happy with her life. She's determined to make Hotel Necropolis amazing. Sometimes, however, she can be too honest. She is also very curious, and tends to nag. Lilac is pretty sarcastic. She loves the sunset.

Aiden is ever the optimist. He tries, and usually succeeds, to make the best of any situation, and the sudden move to Oregon is no different. The golden boy, as he's been called, will stay golden. He's never without a smile, or even the faint bearings of one. His philosophy is that if you continue to smile, eventually you'll actually have something to smile about. He doesn't see much good in moping about, or letting something your mood. It was either destined to happen, or it wasn't. No use crying over spilled milk.
He's got this thing about destiny. It's not God or any sort of deity; just destiny. A force so absolute, there's no questioning it in his mind. Everything happens for a reason, and all anyone can do is go with it. Aiden believes this so powerfully, he could preach it from the mountain tops. Which might be in his plans after high school, but first he wants to travel. He's a big ball of energy that is barely able to stay in one place. It's a wonder he hasn't caused a whole bunch of problems beforehand. Or even done so well in school.
Aiden's not a liar. No, he doesn't believe in hiding the truth. If something needs to be said, he'll say it truthfully. He's not going to skirt around the details either. He'll jump right to the chase. He's never been one to try to hide things from people. Maybe that's why most of his attempts to sneak out have been busts. Of course, the only reason he even tries to sneak out is to woo whichever girl he's set his sights on and hasn't been rejected by. To be honest, he's a romantic. He's in love with the idea of being in love, but he is capable of the actual thing. He's not an outright flirt, though. He's faithful to whomever he chooses to fall for, for whatever period of time. Then the grace period of ennui, and he's in love all over again.

Aiden was the first. The gateway child, his parents testing the waters. Apparently they liked him well enough to have more children. He couldn't have been happier, to be honest. Little bouncing balls of joy his siblings were. Until they all started to grow up.
But, that didn't change the way he thought of them. No, he continued to love each and every one of his siblings. Sure, they could get on his nerves, but what were siblings for if not to annoy one another? It meant that they knew each other well enough to touch nerves that couldn't be touched by other people. And that--that's something special to him.
Not as special as his first kiss in the ninth grade. Hillary Marks. Short, red headed, and mousy. But absolutely adorable. And surprisingly not the one her kissed. No, he kissed her twin brother. The one that had an affinity for dressing up as her and sounding too much like her than was probably good for anyone's sanity. Aiden didn't mind this, though. Wasn't even phased when he found out. He kind of just let it slide. At that point, he didn't really care about what gender whoever he was kissing was. Because it felt okay, in his mind. Which lead to the discovery that a kiss could mean nothing, and so much. And that's a dangerous weapon to place in Aiden's hands.
It's senior year, and he's been moved. To Oregon, of all places. They went from California to the middle of nowhere for a hotel. Aiden, ever the optimist, saw this as an opportunity. He could test out a long distance relationship ( which ended a week into their stay, on the part of his girlfriend at the time finding someone she found better ), he could see new types of people. So, of course he continued to smile.
