Rhi | 4 comments I'm loving the book so much already! From page one you really get a feel for the tone and it's so unique and fun. I can't wait to read more. Gail Carriger is doing a really good job so far of easing us into the world.

This book has a really unique writing style that I was not expecting but I'm liking so far. I think it's going to be a new and refreshing take on vampire and werewolves. :):)

Mom2triplets04 | 316 comments I'm on vacation. Read chapter 1 and really like it so far. Wow imagine taking a hair pick and killing a vampire. Will read next chapter hopefully at the pool.

I like it so far! Ive been on a historical fiction kick lately. So this ties between historical fic/ fantasy. It's very entertaining.

Isn't the writing style a riot? It took me a minute to get used to but I think it adds a lot and helps me stay focused in the time period better :D

It almost reminds me a LITTLE of the Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare. Anyone else agree?

It's the same era and is also steampunk, so that makes sense! :)

Mom2triplets04 | 316 comments Thanks Shannon for deleting the duplicates. Read chapter 2 last night. The chapters are extremely long. With nothing happening. Still don't see the comedy yet. Chapter one at least had some action. I have not read Cassandra Clare books. I did read twilight and enjoyed that. I also read interview with a vampire years ago. Think I liked it but of course after 30 years I can't remember.

Mom2triplets04 | 316 comments Have a confusing question can anyone confirm? Is alexia and miss tarabotti the same character or are they two separate characters? I thought they were one. But then why would the author use both names?

They are the same- in that age it was not proper for people to call women by their first names. Not unless they where intimate friends. So I think they are doing that to be historically accurate.
