Great to have you joining the group. As you are the first one to do so, if California wasn't about 7.5 thousands miles away, I would buy you a beer/martini/anything else -:)
In the meantime - just welcome. Hope you enjoy and if you have some insight to share about enrichment, oligarchs and the likes, please go ahead. I follow this theme and write books about it.
I'm not an experienced moderator, so I haven't mastered yet the art of entertaining people in GR groups, but I'll figure something out-:)

I'm an inexperienced member. I started joining Goodreads groups a few weeks ago as a way of re-starting my love of writing fiction (Goodreads = defibrillator) and saw your announcement in the Mystery, Crime, and Thriller group.
I'm more knowledgeable about oligarchs than enrichment - though the two are hard to separate. Right now I'm focused on neoliberalism, which brings in the Greeks (1990s neoliberalism) and the just-passed Trans Pacific Partnership (2010s neoliberalism). Any suggestions - fiction or nonfiction - dealing with post-Cold War economic oligarchies would be most most most welcome.

Being focused on n/l what do you think about it? Seeing many businessmen simply ignoring any social responsibility, I'm not sure I'm a big fan thereof.
There are hundreds of books about post clod war oligarchies. To recommend my own books would be not modest and most of others I haven't read-:)

One thing I will say that makes good financial sense is for authors not to waste money and time with FB ads. I had over 86K clicks to web and 8500 likes on my page the first quarter, which was exciting and encouraging. However, it was all virtual as my actual sales stunk up the internet! Be careful and be wise with how you market your books.

Cheers! Drinks are part of our local guanxi here-:) To get down to business you need to scroll and scroll down and some more, but we do talk business and enrichment here.. sometimes, but not as often as we all want - off writing.
Sounds like you've invested much above the average and I really hope you'll recoup it and make much more.
Thanks for sharing your experience with FB, as it's pretty hard to sift through seemingly endless promotional opportunities (and spend some decent money on them) just to discover that only a few of them work (and not for all).
Anyhow, hope you'll enjoy and eventually make it big time

I just joined the group via recommendation request sent to me by Mehreen. I've had it listed for a while but to be honest I'm a member of quite a few groups so I didn't want to join another until I got other group priorities straight.
I know all three of you moderators so hi Nik, Tara and Annie! Glad to see you have created your own groups. The content of this group caught my eye so I'm definitely looking forward to sharing and interacting with you all.

but no romance. hmm... i don't know, man, that might be a deal-breaker in this group.

rofl. you missed the strikethru.

It's been a long time and another dimension...
You probably know many folks here, so you'll feel right home.
And with your interest in ufology - we have a lot of flying objects here, some - unidentified.
Hope you'll enjoy and contribute!

Hi Justin, welcome to the group. I look forward to seeing you on the threads.

It so happens that to subsist one usually needs a mundane career -:), so many of us are in the same boat and some are in the similar field with you.
We have a lot of people interested in history, a few from Russia or Russian born, so I hope you'll meet some likeminded folks.
There are a lot of accents in Russia and a lot of accents among those speaking Russian as a second tongue, so your southern accent shouldn't prevent you from mastering some of it. And I'm here to help, if you need to suprise the guy from Moscow -:)
How's the market risk today from a point of view of a pro? Of course, don't reveal us any confidential info.
Hope you'll enjoy and contibute!
Uspekhov!

I've just started a new group here on GR called 'Enrichment & Oligarchs', in case anyone would want to take a look/share some thoughts/start a thread/donate a few bucks (if any of you happen to be oligarchs along with being readers/authors) and/or even offer a new start-up for sale or investment -:).
It's also about the literary aspect of enrichment/being rich/being poor/in the process of becoming rich and then poor again, i.e. what people write about becoming rich/being caught while becoming rich and science fiction section – good Samaritan becomes rich -:).
You can discuss Thomas Piketty's 'Capital in the 21-st century' there or that of Karl Marx in 19-th or any other fiction or non-fiction works.
You can waive debts to nice Greek guys, or demand their immediate repayment, or just share your attitude towards a current power struggle between Germany/France versus Greece, Russia v. Ukraine, US v. Iran, Messi v. Ronaldo or Floyd Mayweather v. Manny Pacquiao (thanks to internet for helping me spelling his surname).
The rules are simple: do whatever (responsibly), get rich, don't get caught.
If we have sufficient interest and enrollment, we'd ask William Gates, Carlos Slim, Mark Zuckerberg, Roman Abramovich and other fellas to read your books, write reviews, publish books, open virtual libraries, make google ads cheaper, facebook different, whatever. They probably won't, but we'll have fun, I hope -:).
Yours,
Nik
